Sorry if this in the wrong section. I'm currently running emancipation a1 with the infusion kernel with the modded lib files and it's the best rom I've ran on my Infuse. I recently noticed that when I press the search button from the homescreen nothing happens. It works on the other screens as it should. Before it would bring up Google search. Anyone know of a way to fix this. It's not a huge deal, just curious.

Nevermind. Flashed a different theme and it started working. Mods please close thread.

Hey guys!
I just used the RebelROM, and I applied the 1% mod.... But somewhere between there I found out when I went to bed that when I tried to lock it, it didn't turn all the way off.
And also I can't seem to change my brightness.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-4
It could be any number of things causing that behaviour. First thing I would do is boot into recovery, clear the caches and repair permissions.
Running RebelRom Beta 3
KEB is right, it could be a number of reasons. Let's start simple.
Why did you flash a ROM for the A2 on your GSII?
I would do as KEB suggests. If that didn't work, I would reflash the ROM since actually finding out what happened could be quite time consuming. It definitely isn't related to the 1 percent mod since I'm running it on Rebel with no issues.

Fixed it.
Before I posted I tried fixing permissions but forgot to clear my cache. I thought I would have been smarter than the noobs and actually do that.....
Thanks for the help you guys!

Glad to see you have it sorted out.

Just bought a used skyrocket only problem is the battery door got Lil scratches (already order new one on eBay for 5 bucks) but got it for a sweet 200! So people its already rooted (he said he used super one click) stock recovery and on 2.3.6 is it hard to install roms on here and any good ones?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
All the roms are good and their not very hard to install. Make sure you do your fair share of reading. All the info you need are in these forums. Look at the sticky threads in each section. Good luck

Looking good!
im using skymod 5.1. uses Apex launcher and is fairly stable...thing is you never know with ROMs based on leaked code if it's the dev or just bugged ICS code.
ill i really want is an experience that's just pure Android, no UI BS...just pure. I miss my Nexus One for that exact reason.
Here's all the ROMS for skyrocket: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383464
I'm running ICS RC7.4 Speed though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377087
Yes so many ICS roms yet they ain't stable for DD right? Also feel so dumb and totally forgot the the rocket has nfc. So far reading no ics rom has that working correct? I'm assuming that one we get a official release of ICS then nfc should work?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
1) nfc works
2) many people use it as a dd, no fcs or instabilities, just a few tiny bugs, that may or may not annoy (shutdown/reboot anyone?)

As well as the ROMS this "all in one location" helped me it links how to Root (different methods) one click works best for me, talks about kernals, ODIN return to stock, and much more.
As always READ READ READ. I read for about 2 months. Was rooted, downloaded an app that borked my modem. Knew exactly where to go to return to stock......
OK have to look at it ICS some more just loving alien#6 to much with faux kernel!
But anybody recommended a ICS that's pretty stable and has nfc working?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Went to nexus mod from loving it!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Started with NexusMod 4 and quickly went to NexusMod ICS Slim. This ROM blazes on the latest ICS leak and the developer is quick on updates and support. I personally use it as a Daily Driver with very few hiccups.

I got my s2 last week and installed ICS yesterday. It's amazing how much my phone improved. Here's the link with easy instructions to download:

OK is anyway to change restrictions on changing apn. I need mms and it won't work cause it keep saying " ics does not allow write apn changes

Currently on SKY ICS UCLD2 by seanzscreams.
It's pretty good but read and reread the instructions he posted when installing this ROM.
I believe the ics superlite by mhx is a simpler install.

I don't use att. I use a company called red pocket. And mms don't work on any ICS roms I flash
It keeps telling me you can't write apn settings on ICS. So I'm stuck as to getting this to work?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
are u using a third party program from the market to enter the apns? If so that's y. Enter them manually. Settings > more > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names. Then hit menu button

I've done that I can receive mms but can't send mms. So I'm stuck on GB until then

903tex, did you download the Red Pocket configurator from the market? I thought that sets up the apn for you, maybe not w/ ICS.

i belive this script is very similar to the V6 supercharger script, if that's the case you will need to use a rom that has a modded policy.jar if you are running an ics rom, if your on gingerbread then it should work. Some scripts are universal but just be careful, and understand that there is always a chance of bricking your phone
Papa smurf and I are friends last I talked to him this should yes I tested it back in the day but its changed a bit

No...you got the wrong impression from that or maybe i worded it wrong...the mods are all .apk files. i know where to stick the .zip for flashing roms im not that much of a noob. im just unsure where to stick the .apk....my bad after re-reading what i wrote i completely wrote it wrong.
Use root explorer delete old version of apk then move new apk to system/app fix permissions then reboot

Thank you very much. anything else I should know with other modding files and such? sorry I'm just really curious. I love this ROM but I'm learning a bunch of new things as well. I hate asking questions but would flip ape ish if i bricked my phone.
Questions are fine but always search before making a new thread 99% of all questions possible have been answered

And he doesn't mean fix permission with ROM manager. Also don't forget to change owners to "root"

understood thanks...
I cant post a reply in any of the cm10 threads so I'll ask here...and I know why I can't post its well understood...that being said
My questions are...I see there is a 8/7 build for cm10 as cm10 beta...I am running alpha a1...is the alpha a1 more stable than beta?
Also in that thread it was mentioned that the camera on the 8/7 build was not working but it works just fine on alpha a1 which is why I asked the question above.
Im sure through all of that you all know what I am asking.
Just need some info.
I like the feel of this rom its very well built....big thanks to the developers
And my last question right now is does anyone know what will be added to this rom in the coming future aside from fixes....
I.e. mods tweaks etc?
Next device I will be playing with will be the galaxy note anyone have one and have any tips on what may be not so good about that device?
Thanks in advance for all the help and tips from everyone who responds or has responded...greatly appreciated and again sorry for all the noobie questions.

Hey everyone. I'm running the latest version of Synergy and I've been having some issues. First, every now and then my screen will freeze and the only way for me to correct it is by locking and unlocking my phone. Second, I noticed that after a reboot my battery percentage is no longer showing. I have to go into settings and uncheck and recheck the option to display battery percentage. Lastly, after I reboot I've noticed that my default input method (which is swiftkey) will be changed to the Samsung keyboard. Again, I have to go into settings and change that as well. Does anyone know of any fixes for these issues? I've reflashed synergy several times and I still have the same problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You should help out the community to get your 10 posts to post this in the synergy thread, but anyways I can help on some
For SwiftKey back it up with titanium Backup delete the app and then restore it, you won't have that problem anymore.
For the 1st one it really depends on the kernel you are running, you try various kernels in the original development section for this device.
As for the percentage I am unaware of that as I do mot run that rom.

Im curious you're original flash method. Can you describe what rom you were on before and how you got here? What in getting at was did you wrote data/cache/dalvik a couple of times each? Also have you tried redownloading the rom and clean flashing it?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I was stock before synergy. When you flashed this rim it gives you the option to do a superwipe. I did that plus I wipes cache/dalvik/and performed a factory reset before doing the superwipe. I'm not sure on how to get 10 points so that I can post this in the synergy thread.

It definitely sounds like you did everything right on your end. Did you check the md5 of the original zip you flashed? Bad downloads can cause weird stuff like that.

How do i check the md5? And if it is bad I just have to download it again and reflash it right?

I keep a tool in my dropbox that does if. Let me find a link.
Yes if it matches the one you saw when you downloaded the rom then we know it's a good download otherwise try downloading again and flash once more.

The screen freeze I had on synergy using ziggy kernel. Had to raise the voltage or flash it with stock kernel. Ziggy's kernel doesn't play well with some phones. Great battery life but my phone wouldn't handle it.

You can always try since all phone play on kernels differently first try a 25 step and keep going up once you see the freezing stop, but keep in mind some kernels may not be for your phone so it's always good to experiment with other kernels to find your best battery and performance results.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Thanks for the suggestions. Where can I find other kernels? I'm going to play around with the ziggy kernel to see if I can fix the freezing.

They are all located in the original development section. Keep a lookout for tw since you are on synergy.
Ktoonsez Kernel, Faux kernel, Lean kernel are some options you can try.
I'll try to pull up links for you to the threads.
Edit: this thread has all the kernels
