Mobile data won't reconnect after mobile network loss - T-Mobile LG G2x

I am currently using owain's rom with the latest harsh kernel, and whenever I lose my data connectivity (damn tunnels), the 4g won't reconnect by itselfand the mobile data toggle becomes unresponsive...any tips on how to fix that?

Hold volume up and power into it reboots. Battery pull works sometimes but the hard reboot always works for me

Can you explain to me why this works and doing multiple reboots or power-off-on cycles doesn't? I've had similar inexplicable mobile data losses on multiple ROMs, and have tried a bunch of stuff. The power-volume up worked the first time...
Thanks, though!

To be honest, I can't explain to you why it works. I've learned it the first day I got my g2x when froyo had a problem connecting to wifi an its been working ever since

It is like Windows XP. Restart (power off and then restart phone) just restart the OS not shutting the computer down, not clearing the memory and cache. Shut Down (pulling battery or hard restart volume up and power) turns the system off clearing the memory and cache.

What's strange is that I have tried booting into recover, wiping cache partition and dalvik cache in order to fix the problem. It worked once but hasn't really worked since. I guess it must be a memory thing... ???

At this point, I would suggest either a different kernel or a different ROM. Every ROM effects every phone differently. Try HellFire Sandwich v1.7 with the updated harsh kernel. Its what I'm using now and I haven't run into that issue yet.

Yups, my first G2x was experiencing major reboots so I did a factory reset via vol down + power. didn't help lol. Didn't want to wait for an OTA update to fix the issue so I opt to exchange it and my current one now works like it should

I believe it pops up the stock recovery menu and goes into verbose mode while the phone is doing a factory reset. The stock recovery menu is useless since you can't actually select anything.

Vol. Down and Power gives me a screen that says "S/W Upgrade Please wait while upgrading..." And it never does anything. I had gotten a boot loop (hadn't even considered rooting yet) so I pulled the battery and booted up, I guess my finger had been on volume down. Still does that, and it never changes. Just stays like that. If I pull the battery, I get a boot loop again. What the hell D: Should I call up customer care?
It will force the phone to shut down. I did it couple times when my lock screen froze.
Simply holding power will force the phone to shut down.
Power and volume down format on stock or recovery if nvflashed
I don't think home is necessary or used at all.

It's definitely not normal. Try wiping fresh and installing only necessary apps then test again. If the issue persists trade it in for a new Infuse.

Problem with restarts had been referred to SD cards. It is not always relevant, as such behaviour used to happen even on card-free phones. My problems started just after update to Mango, what made phone practically unusable.
I tried and seems succesfully solved problem in following way:
- connect phone to Zune
- click on phone, then settings
- choose RESERVED SPACE position
- change with slider from default 1% to 20%
- apply, disconnect
My phone, with Micro SD, stopped crazy behaviour, f.ex. during making photo, using apps. So far so good.
So maybe, either Samsung or MS had screwed up default settings of phone and use of ROM/RAM upon processes.
Solution can be applicable to Focus S and Omnia 7 too.
Good luck!

Freeze in reboot/ poweroff

Is anybody else having an issue where the phone freezes when trying to reboot or power off? I have wiped all caches and even restored may nandroid backup that was all stock and was getting the same issue. I did not see anything in any of the other ics post. I am not getting any force closes and I have tried repairing permissions. It just does the same thing.

Everything's working great for me, with the lone exception that when I go to shut down it gets stuck and I need to pull the battery if I intend to power off completely, or hold down the power button for ten seconds or so to reboot the phone.
I think almost everyone is having this issue.
Thanks guys it was working fine. I guess its a small price to pay to have ics.

When I first flashed ICS, without doing a factory reset afterward, I was able to shut down properly. Then I read in the forum that to fix the locking issue, I needed to do a factory reset. So I did. And after that, nothing worked quite right, and I get stuck during shut down.
So, I reflashed ICS, did factory reset 3 times immediately afterward. Now everything is working fine, including shut down.
YMMV
I am rooted 4.0.3 stock.
No problems with the power menu.
Strange. I'm just lucky, huh?

Skyrocket NOT shutting off

I seem to have a strange problem. My Skyrocket does not want to stay off. I power down the phone, and it comes back up on its own immediately. I've tried this with and without charger connected. I had this problem on Embryo 5.4, and now also on 6.1. Right now, my only option when I need the phone to stay off (like when traveling by air, which I do often) is to take the battery out. The second I put the battery back in, the phone boots up.
Could anyone help me out here?
I tried searching the forum for similar issues, but could not find any. But in case I've missed a thread, feel free to start the flaming .
Thanks in advance for any help.

The only thing I can think of, if clearing the cache doesn't work is that it did not uninstall correctly. Try going to your Settings -> Apps and swipe over to All. make sure that process doesn't exist in that list. It sounds like it did not uninstall correctly somehow.

El daddy's post is correct. The app is not still draining battery.
The graph shows battery usage for 10 hours.
If that app had shown 40% after 5 hours and your battery had gone down to 75%. You uninstalled it at 5 hours. If your battery was at 50% after 10 hours It would still show as 20% after 10 hours. Even though you uninstalled it 5 hours previously.
Just charge your phone back up to full which will trigger a reset on the usage calculator. All should be fine after that

To clear the cache partition:
Turn your phone off.
Hold volume down and power, this will boot you into the bootloader.
Scroll to recovery using the volume keys and select recovery using the power button.
It will boot into recovery and you'll see an android laying on its back. Press and hold power, then immediately press volume up and let go of both. (it may take a few tries as it's tricky to get right. If you can't get it in time, the phone will reboot and you'll have to start over)
Once the menu opens, choose clear cache partition. It will wipe cache and the phone should reboot automatically.
The boot up will take more time as usual as the OS re-builds cache.
Hopefully this helps. I'm not sure it will work because I've never seen an uninstalled app drain battery, but it doesn't hurt to try.
