[Q] HDMI isnt HD?? - HTC Sensation

Hi,
I have a HTC sensation xe and have bought an MHL-HDMI connector but when i plug it into my TV is it poor quality, its almost as if its just taking the resolution on the screen of the phone and stretching it to the 40" screen on the TV, rather than outputting a 720p signal. Furthermore, i tried connecting it to my 22" 1080p monitor and the results are the same.
Is this normal, surely i should be able to output at least a 720p signal.
Is there any software that lets me play around with HDMI settings?
Also, when the HDMI is plugged in with the power plugged into the converter, i always get the message "the phone is using more power than the supply" so it drains my battery no matter what, iv tried closing all unwanted apps.
Have i got a dodgy converter? should i try a different ROM? im currently using revolution (newest version)

is the video you are trying to play actually recorded in 720 or 1080? if you are for example playing a video recorded in 320 x 240 (low) the tv will stretch to fit the screen.

Iv tried videos recorded in 1080p by the phone and iv tried videos iv downloaded to the phone from my pc that are on 1080p, 720p and an SD clip of family guy and they are all poor quality.
iv also tried angry birds and still images.
its like everythin has sharp edges, round objects on the screen have square edges (if that makes sense?)
When using the web browser (dolphin HD) the text is quite big and clear but youtube videos and flash apps are bad quality.
i just need to know if playing a HD video on the sensation should be about the same quality as playing an MKV file on the PC, if so, i have a problem and will try a re-flash.
Thx for any help

[Q] disappointed in HDMI quality. Any solutions?

So I finally got around to playing with hdmi on the transformer. I must say, I am very disappointed in the quality of the output.
First off, my display (a 50" plasma) is set to 16x9. The picture is chopped about 40-50 pixles on every side. Like the screen is zoomed in larger. What's going on here?
Second issue is that I was able to get streaming video from hulu working, but the quality is not very good. The picture is blocky and choppy. Youtube is the same.
So why is video quality so bad and is there a fix?
Thanks!

Sounds like maybe it's because you are watching low def content on a hdtv?
your overscan settings are wrong.

[Q] Is there any HDMI settings/config and which player to use?

I'm using Samsung's microUSB to HDMI adapter with my Sensation and it works fine but seems like there's no any configuration of hdmi output nowhere. Is there any app to do this or some config files?
There's just one small problem. I have black frame appx. 2cm on 42" TV. It seems like it's made for overscan because when i enable oversan in my tv the image fits perfectly but, obviously, i get cropped resolution then. But, i've noticed one interesting thing: the stock apps like camera output really fullscreen image on the TV without any frame and without any UI elements on TV screen so all the controls go to phone's display and not on the TV. So if there's no way to configure HDMI in sensation yet i have another question: Is there any video player which plays all formats(like MoboPlayer, etc.) which can also handle TV output like stock apps making it really fullscreen without any frame and not just cloning the phone's display to tv?
Thanks.

[Q] Hdmi Output isn't 720p

Im using a micro HDMI to HDMI adapter and a normal HDMI cable tested and used in other devices, but whit my XOOM[4.1.2] The screen don't fill show all my table screen (im not referring to the 80 px that the status bar has, i know that dosen't show) it just appears cropped.
Im testing whit a Philips 32'' 32PFL4505D, the tv dosen't have an option that can help me
I think I saw this over the weekend. For some reason I had to go into the TV settings and have it "auto-detect" again. Then the TV properly scaled the picture to fit on the screen.

[Q] Android TV stick with Sony BDV Home cinema 1080p issue

Hi, and thanks in advance for reading and trying to help. I don't know if my problem is with updating the software, or just settings, or incompatibility.
I've got the following SETUP: I recently bought This CX-919-Quad-Core-Android-4-4-Mini-PC-WiFi-Google-TV-Box-1G-8G-Bluetooth-S19K Android stick and i hooked it up on my SONY BDV-E380 Home Cinema Blu-Ray Player. And from the Sony player, i'm using an HDMI cable to a BENQ W1070 projector.
My problem is the following: I've got no problem sending any type of stream normal sized from the sony player to my projector, but since i hooked up the CX 919 android box, i've got the 1280x720x60 resolution set which makes my projector show the image on apx the middle half of the screen. When i try to set it to 1080p (setting which is set already in the sony player and the current version of the android stick supports) it goes black and reverts back to 720 after the seconds count down.
I attached 2 pictures with the resolution choosing from the stick, from which when i get 1080p screen goes black, and one with the size.
What can i do ? Is it me, or them ?

MX III output resolution issue

Hi guys,
I have a MX III Tv Box, and a really old Toshiba Tv. The Tv only have a VGA input (no HDMI), therefore I'm using a converter from HDMI to VGA.
But I have a problem, when I set the MX III to output in 720p, the TV seems like getting a good resolution (with the edges cut off) but the entire screen is half greenish. When I set the MX III to output in 480p, suddenly there are no issues with colors, but of course the resolution is only 480p.
The only output options I have in MX III are 480p (Good colors, but low resolution), 720p (Greenish, good resolution with edges cut off) and 1080p (Showing nothing, black flickering screen).
When I try to connect my laptop using the HDMI to VGA converter, the Tv works perfectly fine on 720p (I think, it looks HD).
One last important thing to say is that when I connect my laptop, the TV shows "Input XGA", but there is no such setting where I can modify the TV to always stay on XGA setting. When I connect the MX III, when on 480p it says "VGA PC".
Does anyone know if:
1. Upgrading the firmware of the device may help, if so, to which firmware?
2. There is a way to control the output resolutions and settings of the device, other than what there is with the stock version?
3. Any other idea?
I will really appreciate it, I'm desperate
Thanks.
