i wanna put my dev site as a signature but cant for the life of me figure out how

Because you haven't satisfied the terms required to be able to access that yet. Go and read the Rules of XDA and you'll see why

At the right top, click on your name, and after on settings

Did you try longpress on the post? Cause then a menu opens up with functions like thanks, quote and so on...
