Internet not working, WIFI only - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I just got my skyrocket in the mail last night. I immediately rooted and installed CWM, then CWM touch. Next I looked to see what a recently updated ICS release was, and flashed it. I used SKY ICS UCLD2, and followed all the instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602216
I followed the linked instructions from the UCLC4 base page.
I wiped data x3
wiped cache x3
mounts/storage wipe system x3
Flashed radio
you can come from gb, or ics.
Just make sure to wipe a few more times and clear your dalvik if
your on gb, and flash the latest radio http://d-h.st/tA7

Then flashed ROM

everything boots up and runs, WIFI works. But if I turn WIFI off I get no data. This morning I saw the developer released an updated ROM and I repeated the process and tried the

but nothing is working. The phone/rom works great, but no data other than WIFI. I really want to use the LTE, it's available in my area Any idea?
I really should have tried using the data before flashing all this stuff. I did recover from my stock nandroid backup and the same thing was there, no data (just wifi). Then I tried flashing a GB modem and it didn't work. Now I'm back to the SKY ICS UCLD2 base ROM.

If you just got your skyrocket for the first time you gotta call att to get data working

Data and text issues on all roms after ICS!

After flashing hellfire ICS I wasnt able to recieve any texts. I then flashed Hellfire cm7 and still same issue, also tried eaglesblood. I then tried getril, it wasnt matching but updating it didnt do anything. Now I just flashed 2.3.3 and text is working but I have no data. With every flash I wiped everything and used g2x scrubber. Also I tried using different APN...What can I do to fix this?
So, you reverted to a non 4.0.3 rom and the issue still persist, like a GB 2.3.7 rom?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
yea
Yea, last night I flashed a eaglesblood over 2.3.3, this time manualy wiping and not using scrubber..and it worked, I was able to use data and recieve texts. But now it just stopped working and I am unable to recieve texts again. I have fixed permissions, cleared caches, and tried all the RIL in getril. Why would it randomly stop working??? this is so annoying
..BTW i restored only a few apps with titanium and did not restore any of the data, just apps.

Maybe try flashing a new baseband and then going into your apn list and restoring default apns.
Could possibly be a sim card problem or sim card reader hardware issue... dont wanna jump to the worst possible scenario tho..
I have the jul 15 baseband, isnt that the latest? Idk if it would be hardware since everything was good before I flashed ics .
When you flash, are you wiping data, cache, dalvik cache, and system before flashing?
Yea, I wipe data, cache, dalvik, then format system, then flash rom which is on root of sd card.
Is there anything else I can delete/format when installing a rom? What data is being retained that I have this issue with every rom?
update: Just flashed bionix 2.3.3 rom with stock kernel and everything is working, its like it works only when it wants to..ill try a cm7 rom again later.
you aren't the first to report the same exact thing... I'm waiting for jboxer or another dev to say something... it might have something to do with T-Mobile or your SIM... have you tried entering your number manually... have you tried without data connected or on wifi?
Didn't hear the mention of g2x scrubber always a good thing...

Something I would do would be to...
Download Rom/Gapps
Unzip to make sure it's complete and uncorrupted DL
CWM Recovery
Wipe Data/Cache/System/Davlik/BattStats
G2xScrubber (In case)
Install Rom
Install Gapps
Wipe Cache/Davlik/BattStats
Fix Permissions
Boot let it sit quick..
Hard Reboot (Power + Volume Up)
Edit: For some ICS Roms sometimes you have to enable data or toggle it on/off for it to work.
ok

Just an fyi, I followed your steps to the letter and it works beautifully. Now, if only you could help me by doing this for the ICS blue theme that we have. That would be great.
Your not the only one having problems with posing the ics theme via adb. I'm failing at it constantly but as soon as I figure out the best way than I will def post on it. I have however changed the moto launcher to the ics version and it did add ics ui for the ROM but I couldn't get the phone, browser, or messing icons changed, only the app drawer icon changed. I'll figure it out

Also, if you flashed the CWM on boot than evertime you boot your phone you will go straight to recovery which will help those bootloops. Keep in mind that EVERYTIME you flash a ROM you will need to reflash CWM on boot.

Another thing. The post talking about making your phone look like ics quick is just go launcher ex themed like ics with go dialer themed like ics and go messaging themed like ics. You can download all that off the market.

It didn't break your GPS? I haven't flashed CWM on boot because I need my GPS and the first time I did it with supercharged, my GPS was broken. Idk if it was because I went straight to update 2 or because of the CWM mod but I don't feel like spending another 2 hours trying to find out for myself so please let me know? EDIT - Nevermind, figured it out... SECOND EDIT - Holy force closes Batman! I restored my data and opened the floodgates... what's up with that? Should I have used Titanium instead of restoring from my backup with CWM?

Never restore data via cwm unless your going to stock, and only restore via titanium what you need. Try reflashing and see what happens. Also, if you flashed the updates do this....flash update 1 reboot, update 2 reboot

I just tried it coming from GB NexusMod 4 and just got the boot loop as well. It is a little tricky getting back into recovery - you only get about a second in the CWM menu before the phone spontaneously reboots.

Performed it fine here with zero issue.
If your cwm is acting up, may be lot more going on here.
I suggest a return to stock
Reflash cwm
Then flash this build.
Wish I could say more but UN able to see or confirm your issue.

Hey, great base.
I have flashed this, the leak and a few other ics roms. On this rom I cannot get my phone to hook up to tmo 4g, edge works fine, but it wont jump from edge to 4g. I tried flashing a tmo radio but no dice.
The leak worked fine in that regard. Consistently connected to highest available signal.
what can I tweak in order to re-establish connection to tmo 4g.
I tried to go into mobile network settings and all of the settings there seem consistent with the stock tmo settings. But when i try to change network operator settings from automatic to manual it never gets past "searching"
Thanks for any help you might be able to lend

That is the version of cwm I have with Slim 3.4. I have had no problems with data. My only suggestion, if you want to try again, is that you flash base first then, without rebooting, flash essentials. I would also suggest that you have your preferred modem loaded on to your sd so that after you reboot, you can see if your modem will work.
This is an outstanding ROM.

Just to add my "me too" to the discussion. I couldn't get Slim ICS to work for me as a phone - no data, no phone (I couldn't call from my home phone). I flashed a modem I knew worked for Doc's - no change. I checked the APN and activated - no change. I reinput the password in case the APN had it wrong - no change. I reflashed the whole package and tried all these again - no change.
So I reflashed Docs. As soon as the first boot concluded, my phone was telling me I had a missed call (from my home phone). Whatever the issue is for some of us, no one has come up with an answer yet. We just have to stay away from that ROM.

I have the same problem and it's gone unsolved. I've done absolutely everything yet it still happens. The only thing that seems to help is if you power down the phone completely, reboot, open web browser, open gapps, then try and make a call. Because if you try to make a call first thing after a rebbot, nothing, ever. This is the only method I've found that can get me the phone.apk to actually connect a call. There are days I want to smash this phone into a million pieces.
