HP's bluetoth headphone are out.
They're only compatible with certain HP models.

Can someone get the software to work on other Pocket PCs?
these are much better
Those are terrible! Check out the ones by Blueant and the ones from Bluetake, loads better. The bluetake ones provide a dongle that allow u to use it on almosy sny device because it provides A2DP (which our widcomm bluetooth stack doesn't) which is cool, because when Broadcom/Widcomm release version 4.0 we'll have A2DP and more and then wont need the dongle.

The purpose of this topic is to encourage developers to develop A2DP for pocket PCs before the Widcomm release and not to promote the HP headphones.
When will Widcomm release version 4.0?
Anybody?
Could you please explain what is A2DP??

Hey. Are you from Kenya?
A2DP is the bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution Profile.
With it, you can stream CD quality sound from between bluetooth devices rather than the mono-telephone quality-sound you get through the common profiles.
Not from Kenya, but from South Africa, the country not the region.
This seems like a worth while endevour. It would be realy nice if we had the functionality on the XDAII and above...
I would actually just be happy if my BT works with the current profiles.

FI,
Bluetake iPHONO bluetooth headphone does not come with a driver (or CD) because the driver is hard-coded into the dongle/headphone

Yeah. I like thoes headphones but am not interested in carrying the dongle.
I currently leace the house with phone and PDA. I look forward to leaving with PDA and headphones but without the dongle.
Apparently someone on the PocketPCThoughts forum was able to use the HP BT headset drivers with the BlueTake headset. He's using a 4700, but that's still a PPC that doesn't support the headset. Has anyone tried using the HP drivers?

Interesting.
I'd try it if I had the headset.
Yep, I really like the idea of stereo headphones with headset capabilities but the dongle is a deal-breaker for me. I will definitely try something like the bluetake headphones/headset when the A2DP profile is supported directly on the PocketPC.
Go developers, go!

The purpose of this thread is ti inform developers that the A2DP software is out there.
I've had no confirmation from the relevant developers to this effect.
Hey ! Wow !
Ok slightly off-topic, but this could be a really big thing for me. I work with the disabled, providing speech recognition technology for those unable to use a keyboard. We tried out a bluetooth headset solution about a year ago, but the sound quality wasn't good enough for the speech recognition to work well.
Some of these people are unable to use a wired headset for a variety of reasons (limb spasms etc). We eventually went for plantronics wireless headset, but I'd love to see another solution.
My questions are:
1) Will the A2DP profile work in either direction (ie can we get high quality sound from the headset to the PC)
2) Are there any headsets out there that do this ? (I had a look at the Bluetake site, but the dongle only seems to be sending sound out to the headset, not the other way)
3) If there aren't any headsets out there that do this, and I'm beginning to suspect there aren't, would anyone with more knowledge of the subject than me like to hazard a guess if there will be one in the future ?
Sorry, I know this isn't exactly XDA related, but an answer could make someone very happy.
Totallytechie.

If it doesn't, I'm sure the software can be modified to do it.

Is mono sound not good enough for voice recognition?

I got the impression (not sure where) that the difference between normal headset sound and A2DP sound quality was approximately the difference between 8KHz & 16KHz sampling; the better the sound quality, the better the accuracy of speech recognition.

I kind of get the impression it's not a mature technology. It may be that I have to wait for it to mature. Alternatively this may be a niche market, in which case I need to find out who's working in the niche.
Anybody?i got a 3.5mm jack moto SKN6261A cable
Help me out with the TVOut with xt720..
so far i found that 3.5mm TVout function only works with Dexter's and wanted rom, and the kernel must be Stock 2.1 South-east Asia firmware (STR_U2_01.18.2_UCASHLSTABB1B4DEMA033.0R_USASHLSTBRTINT_P027_A009_HWp3_1FF.sbf.gz) before Froyo..other UK ,EUROPE,SINGAPORE ...sbf...don't work at all... and the default cpu speed is 550 mhz
everything ok but audio can't play on tv
only the audio problem...still playing from phone's speaker...no sound on tv ..pls can somebody tell me how to fix it
check this the original from Korean Motoroi present ..http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/ACglLdUZxcE/
nobody konws how to make it works?
i think that ..with 3.5mm jack tv out is better than HDMI ..coz all the tv have AV input and can be easily connected via AV cable(3.5mm-AV)..this is so awsome with the xt720..coz you can connect to projector ,tv ,any bigscreen display..now the hardware is no problem only need to research in the rom ...anybody who knows how to fix this (sound unable on tv ) problem..please share your exprience...
TV
give RealHDMI a shot. i"ve been using it successfully from factory to khal's V4 ROM without issue.

Where do you get realhdmi? Market won't let me download it to XT720.
I don't think its available on the market anymore, I remember reading something about the dev pulling it due to some hardware issues he couldn't get around and due to some concerns with the market place itself.
I've been having a hell of a time with this myself. I've tried just about everything I can think of (using linux-swap, task killers, ext-2, ext-3, faster SD cards, etc) and the best I've been able to manage is to do is using Dexter's rom with all of the bug fix updates. Even then the video only plays for few minutes and then the phone hangs up. Pretty much have to pull the battery out and restart.
Driving me absolutely nuts.
It's back in the market, but apparently only for DroidX.
I stand corrected, but no help as you mention its for the DroidX only.
Aside from this one bug this Dexter's rom with Mioze7Ae's fixes is bloody well perfect. Its strange, vids play perfectly when on the phone. Just crash while being output to TV via HDMI.
Weird thing is that I don't see too many people complaining about it. Or perhaps I just didn't look through the boards enough, I've been looking for a solution for a while now.

I believe you are mistaken, and the wifi version has no GPS.
I have a bluetooth GPS receiver that I used with my Viewsonic g tablet but that required an "blueGPS" app to get it to work. I imagine with Touchpad may also require a third app to get it to work. An app that is likely not available for the Touchpad.
Are their any app for the Touchpad that can use a GPS?
There are apps in the hp-market. But i can't make out if they
all are real gps or if they need wlan/inet too.
Most of them also cost money.
I think i also read somewhere about using extern gps with that app
called usbpassthrough. But that app looks like some handy app, because
it didn't start in fullmode.
Ah, my apologies, my information was based off of a chart I googled last Saturday after purchase. It did not differentiate between the wifi and 3g/4g versions. I guess I can cross searching for a new GPS app off my to do list...

LOL... yeah, no need for a GPS app.
I wonder if there is a way to get my bluetooth GPS receiver to work with the Touchpad. I got a confirmation e-mail about 3 or 4 days later from HP.com but it hasn't shipped so I'm not certain I will actually get one.
Anyone got some info on this, with GPS this table would be such a great product.

Install Preware and get Navit. The app works fine in fullscreen and either orientation. Just let us know if you manage to get your dongle working.
I've got a Bluetooth dongle but the touchpad couldn't find it... I tried selecting OTHERS but nothing...wondering why...
EDIT: I found that we cannot any other device other than webOS, I suspect it's all about the stack, hopefully some developer out there can hack it.

Reading that ^ I tried an old cheapie chinese BT GPS receiver I have lying around, it found and connected in a couple of seconds. Now we just need some GPS software to make the right calls to it!
To both of you who've successfully paired your GPS dongles, does GPS show up as an available location service?
If not, it shouldn't be particularly difficult to make a patch.

Seriously now, the stack already supports SPP, and GPS communication is given as a code example!

no, iam not able to do anything with it. There is a Navit, but i haven't try it yet.
No you can't do anything with it, none of the existing gps apps work because they are looking for an internal gps module, they don't look to bluetooth for it. What we would need is an app that works via the bluetooth stack? the way the old Palm Tx etc did.
Did I read someplace that bluetooth is NOT working with this ROM?
I use my phone with my car hands free system and this would be a deal breaker for me if it doesn't work.
I've tried it with a bluetooth headset and that doesn't seem to work.
False alarm (duh). I've got bluetooth working just fine now by redoing pairing setup.
Also, the ROM that is having the bluetooth problems is the CM7, not Infusion. Thanks for looking anyway.

Hello everyone,
I am using my Shield as a second laptop and everything works so far but the bluetooth mouse which has a known glitch.
I also use a Zagg Bluetooth Keyboard that works flawlessly.
Anyone who uses Bluetooth mouses know any ROM/Kernel that fix this lag?
Thanks a lot

I would like to know this too as I am experiencing this issue too. From what I've read this may be a problem with Android M and and was fixed in N as per this post. If this is the issue I wonder if I can rip out the BT libs from LP?

Some mice have more issues than others so yuu can try different brands to see how well they work. Alternatively you can switch to a 5ghz band on your wifi and it will instantly resolve your problems.
