Hi there, I wanted to post this under the nexusbeam thread but my postcount doesn't allow me to do this...
Anyway, I've been on NexusBeam 4.1.0 for a while now with Speedy-4 and I upgraded to NexusBeam 4.2.3. After flashing I calibrated the battery using battery calibration this morning. Since then the battery has gone from 100% to 0% in 3 hours. My battery life with the previous version was about 28hrs with heavy usage.
I am using a i9023 device. I believe its a ROM issue? I have used Speedy-4 before with the old ROM with no issues.
Another finding of note is that my Browser is using 53% of battery and there is no mention of screen using battery. I already forcestopped and killed the browser but to no avail. Any help is appreciated.
Will go back to my old NANDROID if this issue can't be fixed which sucks cuz I love the speed of the new version
Did you flash over 4.2.3 over 4.1.0 or did you do a full wipe and install 4.2.3? If you didn't already do so, you should do a full wipe and a fresh install of NexusBeam 4.2.3.
I've been on 4.2.3 since it came out (using Speedy-3 kernel however, I got random reboots with Speedy-4) and I've had fantastic battery life and no issues with the browser battery drain that you describe.
I recommend a full wipe and fresh install.
Yep, I forgot to mention. It was a fresh install. Wiped everything even used davlik-wiper
Hi all.
This is my first post on XDA, and I hope that I’m posting the thread at the right place, i would have posted it on SIYAH’s Thread, but I couldn’t because this is my first activity on the forum. I have to have 10 posts before its possible for me…
The thing is, that I have tested the new Siyah kernel 4.1.4 for my sgs2, and it was running very good, amazing improvements. There is just one thing that made me go back to 4.0.1. The phone freezes in deep sleep mode and gets warm and using the battery very fast (think it’s turning into a high CPU clock speed).
I have tried making a complete clean flash of the Kernel and a normal flash (wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache) but the problem till appears.
I did also try to change CPU idle mode to idle + LPA in Extweaks without any luck.
I didn’t undervolt or underclock the CPU or anything like that.
I’m running with Resurrection remix 2.6.1 ROM without any problems on the 4.0.1 Kernel, I did a complete clean installation of the ROM.
I actually just wanted to report the problem if it seems to be a bug in the Kernel, but if I do something wrong, it would be nice with a hint to .
Basebandversion: XXLPX
Version number: IMM76l_RR
Resurrection verison: Resurrection remix ics v2.6.1 By Westcrip
Has anyone tried this and know if this is a good combo for speed, battery, etc? And if I flash, should I flash the rom and the kernel at the same time or boot cr then reeboot and flash lk? Thanks to anyone who helps!

It's what I use.
In twrp, I flashed cleanrom and then lean kernel and then rebooted my phone.
ROM kernel combo is very smooth and fast with best battery life. I stayed on WiFi all day.
Clean ROM 5. 6 le with lean kernel
Power saving mode is on.
2 hours and 33 minutes screen on time.
Just an average day on clean ROM.
I was streaming Pandora over 4g for a while.
sent from that young galaxy on clean ROM!
I haven't given any custom kernel a chance yet cos I been getting amazing battery life on the ICS OTA modem/rpm using stock kernel. getting somewhere around 5 hours screen on time!
lean kernel would be my second option for a custom kernel though, behind Ziggy.

So over the past few weeks I've been extremely flash happy. I've practically flashed every ROM in the dev section besides the JB roms that have broken radios. The latest ROM I flashed to was MIUI V4, it was super SUPER laggy and sluggish so I decided to go back to my all time favorite ROM of eaglesblood 4.0.4 AOSP. I flashed the rom, my favorite kernel (trinity g2x ics OC), new baseband fix and ICS Gapps package. Everything went fine at first boot except for the fact that I had no battery meter. It was gone. When I went into settings > battery it said my battery percentage was 999%. I figured it must have been something I did to the ROM zip as I modded battery icons in eaglesblood a few weeks prior may have had a corrupt file or something. So did a fresh download of the ROM. Flashed everything again, in the exact order and had the same problem. From there, I went back to my trusty nandroid backup of vanilla CM7 and my battery meter is working just fine. I cannot find a solution on the internet to what would make my battery icon, stats and overall detection completely disappear. Any ideas?
So, this happened to me for the first time last night...My phone had charged 100% and so I removed the charger..Idk for some reason the battery drained overnight in about 4 and a half hours..when I woke up and went to check some notifications, I also found out some very very serious ghosting, not instant ghosting, the long lasting one...I don't really remember much about last night (was high) but I'll post some screen shots.
Look near the CPU in the top center of the screen..there's a small whitish circle which is a Snap from CNN on snapchat..and its not going away..not visible on white surfaces though.
Oh and BTW I'm on Sultan's ROM on 5.1.1 latest update (was stable until November, now some FCs and random reboots and whatnot, will migrate to Oxygen OS 2.2.0 by PMehra) with AK kernel.
go to mashmallo instead

You do realize AK kernel despite using anykernel isn't in line with Sultans latest changes to the ROM & kernel? Either way your camera seemed to have held a wakelock and drained your battery

That's what I thought after seeing the qcamera process in battery stats. Thanks for the confirmation! going to flash Sultan's Latest Marsh...last time I flashed it, the DPI settings were causing reboots and also random freezes plus I like stability so I flashed back to 5.1.1...hope the Feb update has got rid of it.
Plus did you notice the ghosting image? It's gone now but I was really worried!

Yea I am going to flash 6.0.1 now using 2.8.6.0 TWRP. Hope it isn't as buggy now because IMHO Sultan's Roms are the best!
I have the same 4hr battery life on my OPO. upgraded to latest CM12 but wanna go back to old Android Kitkat CM11 if i can.

Think there may have been an issue with his latest builds. I have moved away from both of his roms and went to all stock cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT and had 5 days on a charge, with a 0.6% drain/hr. I also don't use my phone much during the week, wifi on and switched to 3g. Might want to install better battery stats (you can find here on xda) and/or wakelock detector (playstore) and see what actually is killing your battery. Or just revert to an earlier build where these issues weren't present.

version of twrp makes no difference, I've been using 2.8.6.0 for over a year now with no issues at all.

I hear ya, been there, done that. Lost some of my files, but most were already saved on pc. I do a backup of my sdcard once a week, just in case. A month or so ago, I did a clean update to a new build of Sultan's CM13 caf rom and I was caught in a bootloop. I tried everything to solve this and had no luck. I could however flash cm13 nighlies and RR rom no issues, but as soon as I flashed cm13 caf rom, went to bootloop. Finally fastboot flashed official cm11s factory image and started fresh. Since then I have had no problems. There were a lot of other people with this issue, so there was something in his rom that was jacked somewhere. I did go back to Sultan's cm13 rom for a bit, but didn't run as good as his earlier builds, so went to his cm12 rom. After the latest upstreams from CM, phone performance started to go down hill. So, I just said the hell with it and went to stock cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT and everything is stable and running like it should. May flash a dif kernel in a day or so, but right now, everything is running fine. Like I said, I got 5 days on a charge with minimal usage as I don't use phone during the week. I don't have time to use phone when working and to damn tired after work. Think I had around 2hr SOT.
