Fyi, that mp3 option is actually just downloading it as mp4, then changing the file extension to mp3
You can download any mp4, and if you change the extention to mp3 you got your self a music file
So all im trying to get at is you can get your mp3s with either of the two...but the non tubemate one requires more work...
Edit: after posting that reply i kinda feel like this was a pointless reply, why go the long way when you can go the short way? I gotta start thinking smarter not harder

LoL. this is just easier than doing it on the pc and then transferring to phone.

I just use Tunebite Youtube Downloader for the job since this one besides being able to download and save youtube videos can also work as a Youtube to mp3 ripper and convert youtube flv to mp3 files I can use on my pc, mobile devices etc.
Plus Tunebite also has a menu to configure individual Audio and Video profiles depending frame rate, frames-per-second, resolution etc. to help setup audio and video files perfectly for pc and each mobile devices and to save space with smaller files.

Works partly. I've encoutered some bugs. If you or your friend can try to fix some of these it'll probably soon be a pretty good port.
- Partyshuffle mode sometimes causes force-closes.
- Player sometimes gives error about music file formats not working.
- When clicking the "next" or "previous" button, the player sometimes crashes.
- When it has just crashed on a certain song, opening it again and clicking on the "now playing" button, it will crash AGAIN.
- When in "tracks" screen, you need to fix the "a to z" listing, The letters are too small, and don't work, also, no search.
- When searching sd for playlists, it keeps looping with the pop-up message "Scanning SD card...", and on the background you can read a message: "An error was encountered on your SD card."
- When playing on speaker, the sound quality is not always very clear / clean. Sometimes has some sort of scratching noise in the background.
Will post more bugs as soon as I find them!
Good that you're trying to port it, I sort of like it, but like I just made clear, it needs some fixes!
Good luck! :good:
EDIT: Oh, and the included video player: As soon as I click on a MP4 movie, it asks me to play with the stock gallery or the other video apps I've got installed, it doesn't play.
Any news on this?

I don't know if it was this app or CM10.1 messing up, bu tright after installing this app and trying to add it to the home screen (and it said no room was available because I missed the folder), every app force closed, then pretty much all of my apps data was erased. I mean for every app.
I had to update google play services after rebooting too.

Perfect app!! Thanks!
Will this app disappear soon? Also does this still download the video and hide it, or does it only download the music part and not download the video part? For data usage purposes that is.
This app didn't disappear soon, Next Tube did not download any things, it play the song from YouTube on line.

It plays the video via WebView so it streams the video. The app is basically a WebView within an app that links to YouTube.
You can run WebViews in background as well hence why the music playback doesn't stop until you kill the app.
The sad part is the OP is making money off the application even though he didn't do anything besides create a WebView that connects to a URL.
i Wanted this App So bad
Yet another YouTube downloader - this one is easy to use with no frills... :silly:
- Browse the YouTube mobile site, open a video that you want.
- Tap the download icon at the top, to download the video as an MP3 (audio) file. You can also select via the menu to extract the video (MP4)

Do you really want to tell me, that there is need to download application for doing such easy action? Youtube has added the possibility to download all you need directly from the site. Moreover, there is always possibility to download audio and video using youtube into mp3 converter in such situation, when youtube doesn't allow to do it directly from it. Hope, you will understand now, that this application is useless.

Hi Forg, thanks for the feedback. Downloading via the YouTube app is only supported in select countries.
You could copy/paste the video URL to a website, however some prefer apps like this which make the process a little quicker/more convenient.
