Skype and Green Screen - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

anyone else have it where the person your chatting with says it looks like they are looking at your through a night vision camera?

Same thing happening to me, tested it with my laptop, video from skyrocket on my laptop looks green, searched google no answer, skype website says to update app but its up to date, so must just be an android app bug

Its an ics thing in general not just our phones...

Issues w/espn watch now

Hoping someone can help me in time for the mavs/thunder game. I got the app and clicked the setup link in the email they sent me. Signed into my account and selected my provider and everything. Then got redirected to time warner, signed in there to link my account and everything went perfect. I got a pop saying it was done. Then I logged into the app. After I signed in, it said you have access to video. However, whenever I go to play anything, it says subscriber is not found. I sent feedback to espn through the app, but haven't heard anything back and I figured someone else here might have run into the same problem. Also I have adobe air and the latest version of flash player installed.

Same problem
I'm having the same issue. I've been on the phone with ESPN Customer Care, and they have not identified a solution either.
Well at least firstrowsports.eu is available in the mean time.

OK...Just got off the phone with ESPN and I was told that this is a known issue with the Droid Charge...didn't say if it affected others...he stated they were working on the issue and when a fix was done I should be notified...by email, I think....FYI

No Luck on Nook Color
Using Nook Color with CM7 and verizon Fios. Same exact issue. Always shows ESPN3 screen with message subscriber not found
I got mine working, but I had to do the setup through brighthouses website, while in the app. Me and my roommates all got it working though. Click on the setting button in the bottom right. Hopefully this information helps.

Video chat with gingerbread?

So I just flashed Lightning Rom 4.0.1 and noticed the camera at the bottom of my contacts. So will this only work with other people with gingerbread? And does it work?
Sent from my GatorBolt
I have not noticed this but I don't have any freinds with tbolts
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
I've noticed it, but like skaterpunk I don't have friends with thunderbolts either. All the ones with android phones don't have the balls to root them anyways so I may never know
i think that is for the new Gtalk

HTC Video Calling

I've searched and found no results for this so I appologize if it's been mentioned. When I open the "people" there is a "video call" tab. Is it possible to use this feature?
Ah no there isnt what rom u on ?

I don't know of anyone that has been able to use it.. you probably need someone with a sensation or Thunderbolt in your contacts

I have people with thunderbolts in my contacts who also have that video call option, but nothing comes up.

Gingerbread is going to have Skype video calling built in. It should start arriving on the 30th.

alot of people actually believe that to be a fake "leak"
Now what about Google talk video chat? I have it, and it shows a camera next to my name, but doesn't show my fiance's as having video capabilities when I look at her name on my list. We both are running the same ROM and when looking at her list she has a camera next to her name but not mine. We both have it checked to allow video chat in the preferences.

i think it only works on some roms. I see the same thing when testing a chat from pc to phone and the pc will initially see the video but once initiated it will say the device isnt currently supported

skype video calling not allowed

why is it that htc sensation cannot make video calls like htc desire s using skype?
It's unfortunately the new kind of fragmentation (I hate that word too, but heck, it's the truth). App developers are now rolling out apps to specific devices of their choice in whatever order they please.
In this case, they didn't release Skype for the Sensation yet. If you can't get one of the floating modded versions to work, you'll have to settle for Tango or Qik. Both of those are working great too, especially Qik now that it finally works
thank you for your reply..
Doesn't Qik use your minutes

Look for this apk: skype_2_0_0_47-signed.
I was using it on Friday without any problems, but I can't test it today because my screen has gone dead and will have to exchange my phone tomorrow.

[HOWTO] Fix Facebook notifications!

This is a post from Android Central member ccw1134:
"So let's set the table here. Facebook Push Notifications are the golden egg that we're all looking for. Well after reading this you can go obsess about something else...finally (I know I will). I have been beyond frustrated with the chaos that has surrounded this subject. I've spent way too many hours reading and reading then reading some more. I am proud to say that I finally cracked the elusive Facebook Push problem.
I switched from Verizon to Sprint last week (work decision) so I went from a Droid Incredible to a EVO 3D. I was hoping that my Push notification would work when I switched since they never had. To my dismay they did not. My daughter went from a BB Curve to the Motorola XPRT and her FB push notifications worked! She always would always say "Dad you're phone's not so Incredible now, is it?" So when I got my EVO 3D and it didn't work I really became obsessed. After comparing settings on both phones and Facebook settings I found the one anomaly. The list of authorized apps within Facebook (Account dropdown>Account Settings>Applications on the right side of the page) on the computer showed "Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones" on hers but not mine. It's so simple yet outside of the box. The key is BlackBerry permissions! I am willing to bet that everyone who has working notifications on Android came from a BlackBerry. Okay onto the good stuff.
- Find someone with a working BlackBerry. This could be a friend or any store that has activated demo phones. - Using the Facebook app on the BB log into your account and wait for your stuff to start appearing. I did not log into email or anything else, just FB. - After you see your Newsfeed updated with your information simply log out. - Go into your FB settings on your Android phone and check the Notifications box. The refresh interval doesn't matter (it can even be set to Never). - Notifications should start appearing as you get them (Comments, Wall Posts, Pokes, Likes, Messages, etc.)
I did notice a couple of things that I hope get improved in the notification process. Messages and Friend Requests have their own separate icons for notifications just as they always have. Comments, Wall Posts, , Tagging, Pokes and Likes all share the new notification icon that you will start seeing. Because of this if someone pokes you and then you get a comment or whatever, your Poke notification is gone (I'm assuming because the FB App doesn't officially support Poking yet therefore it doesn't know how to handle that notification) and won't know who poked you. Also if you should happen to click on the poke notification doesn't take you anywhere useful, just the list of notifications (for the same reasons listed in the previous sentence). This is a small sacrifice for now. If someone tags you in a post (I assume a picture will be the same way) you also will still get an email notification to whatever email you use. Just an FYI on that.
For the record I am on Sprint using a nonrooted HTC EVO 3D running 2.3.3 and Facebook is version 1.6.3. I do not believe the carrier, phone model, OS or Facebook version matter but I know there are those out there who want to know this type of stuff."
I will be trying this out, seems promising according to replies there!
(mods, I wasn't sure if this would be the right place so feel free to move it.)

Nope. I came from BB to Android and while I had notifications working about a month ago with a FB app update (nothing to do with switching from BB to Android), they no longer work and they didn't work when I initially switched over either.
I just checked my account settings and the Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones is still listed there and still has permissions.
Think it is just a coincidence for you.

I don't know what the difference is but I installed the blacked out Facebook located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200174
And I now receive notifications for the first time. I just installed the apk today so for me it worked and I have no reason to understand, just that I now get notifications. Can someone else confirm with this that they receive notifications?
The only way i got them to work was to create a new fb account.

Sure fire way to fix this:
Deactivate, then immediately reactivate your account. It's kind of a reset button.

Nope, did it last night. Deactivated, then signed back in to reactivate, all from the browser. All your settings, friends, and such stay the same. Now I get every notification.
So you deactivated your whole account from the computer browser? Then reactivated it? No blackberry hoops to jump through.

dam about time!!!
Funny, it didn't work. Then as soon as I opened facebook app , I got a notification. Still no push.

Nope. I had a BlackBerry before my G1, and I still use BlackBerrys occasionally, including Facebook. I have gotten a total of two notifications from Facebook on Android, and it has never worked since.

Are you sure it's all ok? I'm a page administrator too and it's clearly written that I won't get back my administration rights back automaticaly if I deactivate...
i moved the facebook app to the SD card then back to my phone and it seemed to have fixed notifications for me
Wow. So many different fixes it almost seems like coincidence now. I know facebook is free and all and we shouldn't ***** but those guys are getting rich and not really giving anything back. I mean come on? Don't you think somebody that works for them uses android app and can see it sucks?
