Anxiously anticipated by no one, I present the creatively-named PharmNerd's ROM.
SCREENSHOTS HERE (SPOILER: It's Stock Themed!)
The Goal: Dump the bloat, add a tiny bit of functionality, but still retain all of the useful stock features & appearance. Since not everyone wants to be stuck with the apps that I find useful, they're all uninstallable.
About the only things here that aren't included in other ROMs are Google's Car Home & Desk Clock (so you aren't stuck using the awful Samsung Car/Desk Home apps). Also, the stock battery indicator shows yellow or red to indicate low battery.

Theme is pure, unadulterated stock (plus Dman's EPM mod). Aside from the non-stock kernel, there are only some relatively tame build.prop tweaks included, to avoid introducing any new bugs outside of what the stock ROM includes.
Since I don't plan to do big system-level tweaks in this ROM, I expect that any future updates will be available in CWM-flashable patch form (so you don't have to set everything up again from scratch).
CREDITS: bedwa (Infusion kernel), bigfau (for video fix), dman3285 (for UCLB3 base and EPM mod), MaliciousIntent69 (for helping me iron out some of the kinks), qkster (moral support)
INSTALLATION:
Copy ZIP file to your phone's internal SD. Make backups of any app's data you want to preserve. Internal & External SD card contents won't be deleted; everything else will.
Boot Into Red CWM (Completely power off your phone, hold volume up + volume down, then hold the power button & release power button when the Samsung logo appears. Continue holding Vol Up/Down until you see the CWM menu).
Once In CWM...
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Wipe Cache
Advanced --> Wipe Dalvik Cache
Mounts & Storage --> Format System, Format Data, Format Cache
Flash ZIP file to your phone
Advanced --> Wipe Dalvik Cache again, and Fix Permissions (maybe not necessary...just in case)
BUGS:
HDMI-out does not work. Fix: Use SGS Kernel Flasher to flash Entropy's latest test kernel (as of 4/15 this will cause you to lose desk dock functionality).
FEATURES:
UCLB3 Base [Rooted, Deodexed, Busybox, Zipaligned]
Infusion-GB Core A2 kernel
Dman's EPM Mod for Infuse
TWEAKS / FIXES:
Screen stays on when plugged into desk dock [WHEN DESK CLOCK APP OPEN]
build.prop tweaks (proximity sensor timer, force launcher into memory, 100% JPG quality, render UI w/GPU, Touch/scroll responsiveness, Photo/video quality, wifi scan interval increased from 15 to 30 sec)
Video playback works (thanks bigfau)
ADDED (All in /data/app, allowing easy uninstall):
FasterFix v1.6.1
Galaxy Dock Sound Redirector v1.8 (for dock audio with Google car/desk apps)
Google Car Home 2.2.1.4
Google Desk Clock v2.0.2 (modded to run in /data/app, renamed from "Clock" to "Desk Clock")
Google Talk 1.3 Installer
SGS Kernel Flasher v1.6.2
Swype Installer v2.0
Titanium Backup v4.9.0.2
REMOVED:
Allshare, AT&T Code Scanner, AT&T Family Map, AT&T Navigator, AT&T Uverse TV, Buddies Now, Days, Dual Clock, Facebook, Google Books, Mini Diary, Media Hub, My AT&T, Samsung Social Widget, Swype (so you can install the latest beta), Tethering Manager, wssync*.apk / WlanTest.apk (AT&T OTA Updates), Yellow Pages

My goal here was to keep everything looking as stock as possible.
But, the more I dug into the APKs, the more stuff I found that could be tinkered with. I can totally see why most of "almost stock" ROMs have the "almost" part. It's so hard to resist changing stuff up.

Well, crap. Looks like that tweak didn't work. Guess that'll be a 1.1 feature.
I think I need to use something other than APKMultiTool to recompile apks after xml changes.
EDIT: Hmm.. It does stay on when the Desk Clock app is open. Not sure if the XML change I made in framework-res.apk had any bearing on that. (?)
what is the launcher you are using in the picture?

This.
Hasn't been updated in ages, but whenever I try a different launcher, I always come back to Launcher Pro. Mostly because I like how I can map a second app to each dock icon that opens when I swipe up from the icon (some other launchers have this, but the implementation always seems a little glitchy).
Looks good. Good job on dropping a new release

This is my personal EG22 Rom that im gonna share with ya because i dont see many EG22 roms yet.
Features:
1) 44 Bloatware apps that almost nobody uses removed, this results in better battery life and speed
2) Stock Ringtones removed and new ringtones from ol school video games added.
3) Stock apps replaced with better ones.
4) Stock apps themed.
5) All apps updated to latest versions.
5) Go Launcher EX used as main launcher, themed Swype,Video Player,Adobe Air,Music Player.....too much to list
There is more but i don't have time to list it.
I called it SuperHijacked Rom because i took many parts that i acquired sense the beginning when i got my Epic from other roms and combined them together with some of my own tweaks. Its light, fast, battery improved, multimedia apps added and themed.
LINK: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=B4QTQUIP This is Ext4 only.
Correct way of flashing this rom:
1 Do 3 Wipes
2 Flash this rom
3 Do a Nandroid backup (Don't ask why but this step is important or you will get stuck on Samsung logo,it has something to do with timestamp bug). WITHOUT THIS STEP YOU WILL GET STUCK AT SAMSUNG LOGO
4 Flash this http://chris41g.devphone.org/RFS2EXT4.zip ACS RFS2Ext4(this will convert it to Ext4)
5 Flash this http://chris41g.devphone.org/EG22PlusKernel.zip ACS Ext4 Kernel(i included this kernel in this rom but for some reason you need to flash it again)
6 Reboot,and you done!
Thanx to Syndicate Team for kernel and RFS2EXT4.
I recommend Odin to EG22 before flashing this.
for best results.
Or you can flash this over 2.2 just do 3 wipes.
Screenshots NOTE:Go Launcher EX theme is included just select UR theme from Go Launchers's theme options.

Yeah on first boot WiFi or data dont come on sometimes, just toggle WiFi or data on and off a time or two or reboot, after this it should work fine.
Also i noticed that sometimes when connecting the phone to ps3 it wont give you a mount option, just disconnect and reconnect usb cord until it does(time or two).
i have done all your steps in your first post twice now, and i still cant get wifi or regular 3g to work, i can make calls, but i cant text or log into my market
i have toggled airplane mode, and wifi on and off till i am the color of your keyboard, and rebooted several times and battery pulled even
it would also help if there was a 3g logo when network connected , instead of that lil triangled shaped circles thing...is that what that even is? a data connect logo?
any clue?
and btw, your swype keyboard color is ridiculous

A note on the theme. Very little of the theme work is my own. It's basically one big mashup of several themes I find are the best with only a few of my additions. All credit should go to the original creators (unfortunately I can't remember who all they were).
A big thanks to DemonWav, NunHugger, bryman27, for helping to get my theme related problems resolved. And to TRusselo for providing a clean KJ3 base to start from. Also, to ddoubt for encouraging me to continue with building my ROM after me realizing mine was ending up very much like his.

Ok guys this is Konikubs Elite Series rom updated with the latest OTA kernel and the wifi is fixed.I kept everything intact, nothing was changed as far as the graphics/theme goes and no tweaks added, its as original as you can get. This rom is fast and smooth,so i hope you guys will like the new updated Elite Series IV.The actual problem i was having with the wifi issue was a corrupt driver.I also had to edit the market updater to keep the market from losing the transparency, otherwise it will update and go to the default theme.
Discalimer:I'm not held responsible for what happens after you download this rom,if you follow the install directions, there will be no problems.
Installation:
1)Download the rom to your desktop
2)Connect your phone to your computer
3)Drag and drop the rom onto your sd card
4)Right click the icon in your taskbar and eject your phone
5)Go into recovery and do a full wipe(everything,BUT SD CARD!!!!DO NOT WIPE SD CARD!!!!)
6)Go to flash zip, then find zip to flash and install the rom
7)First boot after wiping takes longer, but when you finish the set-up,go to system update and update your profile and PRL,then your golden.

I'll throw my suggestions in again... Tommytomatoe's Legacy Classic rosie (permission pending of course) and an original HTC keyboard in black. I know the seperate quick setting tab in the drop down is everyone's favorite but I really like Koni's small icon quick settings at the top of the drop down. Maybe a way to alter which settings show up there.
I like those suggestions. I would like to see an adherence to the original with regard to theming, wallpaper, etc. Koni's creativity and the clean smoothness of the ROM were what made it unique, and a fan favorite.
Team Viper Lives!
All menu backgrounds a transparent black with white text. Swype themed black.
The clock widget and wallpaper are essential. I've yet to find a more stunning clock. Maybe just update the center of the eclipse with the ES4 label.
This was my post that contained the link to the original's review on The Droid Demos (credits to Brent!)

I like the idea of the Legacy Rosie, too. A ot of Tommy's tweaks would work well with this ROM, and I can do something for the stock Wallpaper. I had made and ES II wallpaper at one point that was nice.
Just one thing, Koni had a unique shade of a deep blue that I just love.
It's very close to #0e06b3 for anyone themeing this.

It's very close to #0e06b3 for anyone themeing this.

Yeah, when I watch Brent's video its the blue that jumps out at me. The blue eclipse wallpaper, and with the transparent notification screen it looks so awesome.

Thats sounds great,i'll stick it in,i'm working on a beta release now,i have been donated to,so i have decided to let the donator(wgallt)take over testing,if he/she refuses,i will post that i have a opening for testers.Donators will have first choice of course.I will have a test rom ready tonite,i of course will test it first before uploading it to testers,so to make sure it boots and installs correctly.
The original look was awesome. Cosmetic tweaks should be flashable options/add-ons

PLEASE NOTE! All credit goes to sduvick and ayoteddy and nxd without them NONE of this would be possible. I'm continuing their name in a legacy because this ROM implements their kernel, and theme amongst other things. Though nxd wasn't with PDT, he contributed a working fix in the kernel for the keyboard logging problem.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW OF ANY BUGS, so I CAN ATTEMPT TO FIX THEM!
CHECK YOUR MOUNTS, I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!
Thanks to ayoteddy!
- Put zip file in your /sdcard
- Reboot into cwm recovery
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset
- Wipe Cache Partition
(Optional but recommended to prevent any minor issues)-Wipe Dalvik Cache from advanced menu in CWM

MOUNT DATA
MOUNT SDCARD
UNMOUNT SYSTEM - this is the ONLY mount you pay mind to, not Sdcard or anything else

(To First Time installers, System Needs to be set to Unmount, though it would really be mounted. If you do Not do this you will have a softbrick and will have to ODIN to stock and start all over ....) Once you have Flashed a Custom ROM or Bali 2.2 Kernel you dont have to worry about mounts

Sounds great!
But how can i make sure that 3g/4G stays off? Will the 'fast dormancy' turn 'use packet data' and 'data roaming' on itself? In my country it is way to expensive and i would like to be sure that that doesn't happen.
And for all the devs who are still looking after the Sidekick, keep up the good work!
This is amazing that the community is still supporting the SK4G, brings joy to my heart =]
Fast dormancy works if packet data and roaming remains on. In other words, if you leave them enabled while running WiFi, 4G won't be used. The second WiFi becomes unavailable however, 4G automatically begins being used. Hence dormancy. In other words the answer to your question is to disable packet data, and roaming, fast dormancy will not be able to turn it on then.

Sorry, I have no reliable way of taking a screenshot. However, I can describe it. It looks like GOV2, but the launcher is very PLAIN and fast. It may be hard to use at first, but it uses very little RAM and is worth the added amount of performance.
installing right now thanks!!!
This Rom is incredible...very fast, smooth, and I have had zero issues with it...I love it....salute to all creators of this rom very nice!

As for that, not too sure that's a ROM problem. As I myself haven't even seen a YT link on Facebook app.

Thanks for the updated rom
Looks like no one has really gone into detail on the changes, so I will outline the ones I have noticed coming from the previous GOv2. I am using GOV32+BULKY-ESSENTIALS
I started using Lightning Launcher and at first I didn't like it much, but after poking around the HUGE amount of customization options I have it totally rockin. I like the simple clean text label look, so my launcher and app drawer look like Zune now (sorta)
Contacts and Dialer are slightly reskinned. The new look doesn't use gradients so it looks much cleaner.
Messaging app is a little uglier since it's entirely grayscale, but it seems a bit faster and more useful (can hit enter to send finally lol)
The included ringers are horrible. Replace as soon as you can.
New pic viewer called QuickPic. Faster than the GOv2 viewer, with less eye candy, but still very usable and nice to look at.
Of course the new keyboards, but who doesn't use the physical keyboard
Overall performance seems a tad faster, but could just be placebo.
Not scientifically measured or anything, but the battery life seems about the same for me. When I goto sleep at the end of the day its around 30ish% which is the same as it was on GOv2. Maybe the lean performance build has better life?
That's all the stuff off the top of my head. Great update though. Thanks!
[edit] possible bug: tapping "themes and settings" in "settings" crashes com.android.settings.
Thanks for the feedback. I dont mean to sound cocky but according to others this is the fastest performing ROM with the best battery life. As for.the theme settings crash this is normal.

there is one thing. it could easily be my fault though, but the LED notification for SMS doesn't seem to work. the red one for missed call works, but purple for sms doesnt.
As for that, good point. I had the same problem but can't figure out why. I never removed the .apk for it. Ill give that one a look tonight.

This was a fun and challenging project....but it is time to move on. The Clean Fusion framework was just too unstable. I did try my best but can no longer continue this project.
This was also straying pretty far from the original vision of the ICS Bi-Winning rom. The good news is that Reviewers has allowed me to continue his work with ICS Domination for the Sidekick 4G. So keep your eyes peeled!

Yeah...it lags. I try to stay as true to Bi-Winning as possible but it seems this is not Project Butter here. If you let it sit for about 10 minutes after the install, it gets somewhat smoother. Still, I may abandon it and use Zeam Launcher for the next version.
Just downloaded and flashed v1.3 and I must say, well done. Other than the random reboot caused by the AOSP lockscreen mod or whatever lockscreen mod you used, I have yet to find any substantial bugs so far. Keep up the good work. If you're able to convince someone as stubborn as me to flash this over GOv3.3, you must be doing something right.
Thanks, dude. I try my best....I usually stay awake until like 4 AM cooking. I am a perfectionist....my wife hates it...lol.

Okay, found two noticable bugs in the last approximate hour. One is the brightness option in the Display Settings causes a force close of Settings. Second is the Lockscreen chooser, no matter what it's set to, shows the same thing. It's still worth a flash to see all the new things, though. No clue how resolve each of these, unless the Settings.apk is from the Bi-Winning ROM, which would explain the bugs instantly.
Found another, Browser doesn't start.
Hmmm....the settings.apk is from the Stock KJ2. I'll try the Clean Fusion one and see what happens.
I appreciate the feedback. This is a good learning experience for me!

The browser is an easy fix. It is the Bi-Winning browser. I'll go back to stock.
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
No problem. GOv3.3's Settings.apk works for me. And if nobody can find a fix for the Browser, you could always have Firefox as the default or as you said, go back to the stock one. As for the lockscreen issue, WidgetLocker with Disabling the Stock Lockscreen is the only fix I've found so far.

Done....all that's left is the lockscreen. That is still puzzling me.
Hm. According to GOv2's AOSP lockscreen mod it's something to do with /system/framework/android.policy.jar
Also, thought you should know, 1.4 is ready for daily use without any issues. Pretty awesome with WidgetLocker to block the "stock" lockscreen from appearing.
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
Hm. Idk...might have to decompile that file and the same one from a stock ROM to see why it force closes/reboots on the lockscreen. Depends on if a fix isn't made by the original porter of the lockscreen mod. Same thing occurs with the GOv2 AOSP Lockscreen mod, sadly.

Ugh....this is just annoying. So far, it's this and the damn auto-rotate. I mean, I guess I can add the app Shake 'n Rotate....but that seems like I'm taking the easy way out. :silly:
Yeah, or (just a sporadic thought) use TigerBlood and just make adjustments to that to make it into TigerFusion. Seems the Lockscreen issues and the auto-rotate have to do more with the framework-res.apk and Settings.apk than with what I stated above.
I actually was considering using Zeam but changed my mind because I want to stay true to Bi-Winning. I will compare the framework-res.apk files....I would hate to abandon the Clean Fusion framework...it looks so sweet!
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
You could add Zeam as a low resource alternative incase people want to use it in lieu of the Bi-Winning look. I mean, size wouldn't increase much since it's such a small app.
Edit: Works fantastically. Only personal qualms I have is when you rotate on the lock screen, colours change dramatically. And most menus are blinding, which could be solve with a darkening of the background or turning all menu text black. As well as the menu buttons text shows up as black on black, which, to fit the theme, I think, should be blue text on black background. Other than that, this is superb. Only notification icon I'd modify is the mobile data indicator, though. Kind of distracting when the box appears suddenly and disappears suddenly around the E.
Sent from my SGH-T839 using xda premium
Ugh...the colors when the lockscreen auto-rotates look awful. Thanks, buddy!

Good job on the fix. Haven't found any bugs. I grabbed it this afternoon. Took me about 30 mins to download it on 3G(Sad that my carrier doesn't have 3G/4G in my town yet...3G, for me is way faster than my home internet...just not as stable, imo) Good choice on the new 3G/Edge status bar icons. Although, I recommend for other users to turn off predictive text and auto-correct/auto-capitalization. Tends to get annoying when you use the physical keys and are used to hitting shift to capitalize which uncapitalizes when it's on.Other than that, TouchPal is an awesome choice, imo.
I am going to get this working perfectly this weekend. With extended power menu and stuff worked out with YouTube.
