[Q] Extra non-working widgets with Google Voice - T-Mobile LG G2x

I'm currently using CM 7.2.0-rc1 with morfic's ELP kernel. I have Google Voice installed and CM's Widget manager is showing five Google Voice widgets, but only three of them work. The other two just show as problem loading widget.
Listed in order:
Google Voice (4x2): works
Google Voice (3x3): problem loading widget
Google Voice (2x2): problem loading widget
Google Voice Inbox (3x1): works
Google Voice Settings (3x1): works
I've had this problem on both rooter stock ROM with stock kernel and on CM with and without morfic's kernel.
edit: I'm also ADW EX Launcher and v6 supercharger.
Anyone else getting this and know what's up? Clearing data for the app didn't do anything. Neither did a re-install.

Having the same problem here.

[Q] launcherpro gmail widget

i have seen this bug on one or two forum on diff sites...but there has been no hard answers...so here goes nothing
i have cm7.1 (not sure if that's relevant or not) and am using launcherpro plus...on milestone
all widgets work fine except for gmail. the gmail widget just sticks on "loading"..with nothing popping up in the widget. i have cleared the cache (after force stopping both the gmail and launcherpro apps)..rebooted and every combination thereof..
is this a known bug? i haven't seen anything consistent in either the cm or lp forums about it...is there a work around or option i am not thinking of?
Go to Lancherpro.com and you will find answer to your question. Author quotes -
----------------------------
The API that LauncherPro uses to access your Gmail messages (used on the Gmail widget and the Gmail dock notifications) is being removed in the next version of the Gmail app for Android 2.2 and higher. Apparently the API does not meet modern security standards.
What this means for LauncherPro users is once you update to this new version, your LauncherPro Plus Gmail widget, and LauncherPro Gmail dock notifications will stop working, and even potentially crash the launcher if you try to use them (I don’t have access to this upcoming version yet, so I cannot fully test it).

So lets wait till new API is in place.

Well I can use all of the features of Google Voice that revolve around txt. I used GrooveIP for phone calls and it just crashes. I tried setting up SipDroid and it works but I recently had to re-install my ICS and now it wont work (setting up an already existing account is a pain ). I could use G.Voice as the phone part alone, but it requires some form of a phone plan and I use my cappy as a pmp mostly so no plan on it.

Well I have had apps that don't work , just figured I'd see what people have worknig AND what they have not been able to get working. That way people, like me, can know what they can actually install and use instead of wasting storage space just to find out an app dont work
I've had problems with some apps not thinking I have tts installed while using SVOX. Some apps work fine, others do not. An example that comes to mind is Smarter Alarm. Not sure if the prob is with SVOX or the other apps..
Also Where's My Water works great on my SGN, havnt spent too much time with other games.. GTAIII worked but the buttons seamed not positioned properly, I know they can be manually changed but I haven't done that yet.
GotYa works great.

[Q] Cannot set App as default via Google voice command

Hello Everyone,
I have a question about setting an Play Store app as default apps through the Google voice search command.
First let me say I have the Verizon Galaxy S3 and I am currently not rooted. I am using APEX pro as my launcher and the clock app I prefer to use and am currently having issues setting as my default is Clock JB+ (a stock jelly bean clock app). I have the long hold menu option in my Apex launcher set to activate Google voice search. I don't use S voice because it tends to be very inaccurate.
My issue is, I would like to use Google voice search to set alarms and reminders. Google Voice search works fine but for some reason every time I restart me phone it will ask me again and again which clock app I would like to use as my default for this action. Stock or Jelly Bean. I have gone through the app manager and deleted all data, cache and defaults for both apps with no luck at all. Dose anyone have any suggestions? I apologize their is alot to take in with all my settings and different apps but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time
-AJ
Im just curious if its the fact that the Google voice command is internet based unlike s voice so each time the phone establishes a new connection it resets? or would it be something in the jelly bean clock software? im just very curious as to how to solve this issue

Google now launcher on Honor 6 plus

Hi, I have trouble setting Google Now launcher on my Honor 6 plus. I have downloaded Google app and Google now Launcher from play store and when running Google Now I get a message about setting it under Manage Apps -> Default App Settings but when I get there there's no Google Now launcher option. I rebooted my phone, reinstalled, rebooted again and still no Google Now option.
Huawei launcher is fine but I wanted to use a voice search app and that's the only reason I want to switch to Google Now. I tried the same with Nova Launcher and it worked fine. My phone is rooted and using CWM recovery by the way, although I don't think that affects it.

Complete replacement of Samsung Dialer

I love the Google Dialer, the way it displays picture is awesome. In front of it, Samsung dialer is ugly.
So, is there any method to completely the Samsung dialer with Google or similar AOSP dialer?
I know there are many apps available in the market which although replaces the contacts and call log screen, but when it comes to dialing the number, it reverts to stock dialer.
I have Note 5 running Moar 2.2.
Any views?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-...le-dialer-contacts-6-0-1-marshmallow-t3325004
That's the page I used. Works absolutely fine on my sprint note 5 using rooted deodexed stock mm ROM.
Thanks, will try that after upgrading to MM.
Update: Flashed MM Rom and also flashed the Google dialer. Working fine and no FC however, whenever there is incoming call, it is not recognizing the name already stored in the contacts. But, when I look at the log, the names appearing properly.
I have given all the permission to Google dialer and contacts.
Any fix?
Update: Well I flashed the ROM again due to some other issue and after that I flashed the Google dialer zip.
Now all working fine. Thanks all
My kid loves to see her Grandpa's Pics when she or they call
Just wanted to let you know that with Marshmallow we now have the ability to choose the dialer the system uses. I was able to install the Google Dialer apk and set it as default. I'm not rooted and it's working well ☺
