DELSA LEGEND ROM - BETA VERSION
this rom are made by Delsa & enemeone
wow..12.600 views..thanks
... and here it is....you wanted to? was waiting? I do not think
But I have prepared ... what is this??
It 's the legend rom of kingclick, with the kernel 3D vegaman the sense ui with the live wallpaper! and other fixes, taken here and there ...
CREDITS: kingclick, vegaman, enemeone
i'm not a dev (for now), i take all the mod for the legend rom and put togheter
Prerequisites:
-Root;
-Partition (FAT32, ext4, linux-swap) in this measure:
fat32 = you choose;
ext4 = take your pick;
linux-swap = 256 MB;
_________________________________
Installation:
as a normal rom ... (I will not rewrite the whole process )
I installed it, and now?
The rom is already usable for everyday use, but to make it faster you have to install 2 small programs ... these 2 little programs are free and include:
- Minfreemanager (found in the market);
- Setcpu (on this post);
Set it:
minfreemanager: start it, press menu, select presets, and select aggressive, press the menu button, select apply, you will be asked for permission, you select Always allow (or allow always, I don't remember), then select Apply at boot.
setcpu, I set both the minimum and maximum that can go up (528Mhz), then I selected set on boot, auto-refresh and as governor I put cpu performance. Do you too.
____________________________________
But the LEDs? and the keyboard does not light up .. why?
Unfortunately it is a problem that recurs in all the rom with sense ui, but thanks to senab and its small program can activate them .... download it from the market, just look heroled, then you start it, select what you want to activate, press menu, click start service. Done!
And now?
I recommend a nice reboot to set all
_____________________________________
Problems:
- Bluetooth does not work (as in any sense rom);
- Battery does not last long if a live set as background wallpaper (I explain why? )
- some livewallpapers freeze the phone, you must reboot;
below with suggestions, tips
p.s. I translate with google translate, sorry for my poor, poor, really poor english....

Seems pretty nice so far, set it all up as described and am rebooting now, going to bed though, give it a shot though guys!
soon I'll post a video of a rom...
Ok It flashed ok but I have 2 small problems.
1, when I touch the + to add a widget the menus are all black?
2,I tried live wall paper and my G1 froz and had to pull the bat. I did have the big swap and ext4.
But I will try again later when I have more time to play.

I would label this as an alpha rom or beta, because it looks like a lot of things are not working. Why release live wallpapers that are semi-broken?

How could the menus being black issue come about if all you did was repackage King's ROM with the posted fixes. I don't recall anyone else having that issue but it might be related to the known graphics problem with the 7 on the settings button.
this looks like it got all the things we need to make a perfect Legend ROM, you compiled the best of all worlds, and made a nice ROM!
Just a small quick and dirty app that let you change some of the GTA3 default settings.
Original settings are backed up to (GTA3 Folder)/files/GTA3/gta3.gtsettingslauncher.set. If the app completely fails or you want to use the original settings after uninstalling the app, just copy this file back to (...)/gta3.set.
When your gta3.set is missing, please start the game and go to the display options. Change some settings and then hit "restore defaults". Then try again and start the settings app.
If there is still no settings file, get one from this forum (e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20950484&postcount=29) or google. After launching the game with the downloaded settings file go to the in-game display settings an click "restore defaults". That should fix some problems with screen width and height.
Available Settings:
Shadows: On/Off
Lighting: On/Off
Resolution: High/Low
Rendering Distance: 18 Steps
Blur: On/Off *
* Blur is not working for me. The setting is always disabled when starting the game. Maybe it is working on other devices (Tegra?).
Currently only tested on I9100 with GTA3 German. Please let me know if it is working or not.
Changes:
2012/01/03 - v1.4:
catch more exceptions
changed launcher, it now hopefully will find the target more often
2012/01/02 - v1.3:
added another external_sd path (now searching in "/mnt/sdcard/external_sd/Android/data/", "/mnt/sdcard/Android/data/", "/mnt/sdcard/external_sd/data/" for package)
2011/12/31 - v1.2:
added launcher icon
added blur setting (which might have no effect)
changed namespace - please uninstall the old version manually. I used an example package found on the internet as skeleton and forgot to change it, sry
2011/12/29 - v1.1:
added external_sd to search path
Make sure to download the LATEST version.
Thankyou excellent work dev,works great.
My device is zte skate
And at 900Mhz on Atomic 2.5 rom,
Chainfire reduce texture size and quality,
With this app you have created,
It is running good now.
I just get instant force close when trying to run this. I was looking to try the lower resolution for performance increase.
I'm using a rooted vibrant (t959), with a custom 2.2 rom

When does it crash? Right after starting the settings app or when you try to "Save and Start"?
Can you please also post the path to your gta3.set? Maybe it is a path problem again.
Awesome!
Work perfectly on Xperia play!
It crashes just after starting app.
I fixed it I had to download and copy the file called gta3.set into the correct folder as no file of that name was in the data folder. After I did that the patcher worked fine. :O)
Seems some phones don't create the gta3.set file. Maybe you could include one with the patch or make it auto generate one for people like me. Thanks for the patch. ;0)
Awesome app. I was wondering though, is it possible to integrate more features/mods in the app?
Theres a post on the main page of xda showing mods, also another thread in this same section for gta mods like lamborghini/audi/VW cars, coca cola machines, better texture packs, etc. That would be crazy if you can add those features so we have a all in one mod app for the gta game and can apply them without much messing around. Hopefully that would even help more people add more content to make the game experience even better.
This worked great on my Asus Transformer!
I was surprised to find out the default settings were set so low. Even on my Tegra 2 device. It looks SO much better now.
Thanks for this - works great on my Desire Hd and Haipad M7S - draw distance on low means I can have the effects on and it runs fine on the Desire!
where should i paste this file?anywhere in my sdcard?anyone?plss..
edit: got it work..thanks OP.. ^^
Added a launcher icon and the blur setting. Bluring is not working on my i9100 (it is just disabled by the game while launching), but maybe it will work on other chipsets.
Download is appended to first post.
Hello everybody, I was asked to bring this mod over from the EVO 4G LTE section and since the One X and One S use the same file I am modifying, both devices will get it This is also untested on the One X and One S, so please let me know if you encounter any issues, but it should work! This will ONLY work on phones with the Qualcomm S4 chipset, not the Tegra chipset!
This is a mod that should give you better performance by forcing cpu1 (second core) to run more, depending on the zip you flash below. The system will handle how it scales and the dcmhelper script will modify some parameters if you choose that zip. Some people on the EVO 3D felt that it gave them better battery life, some didn't. Some thought the performance was much better, some didn't. This is just something else for you guys to play with and see what works best for you Here are the details:
=============== How was this done? ===============
It was pretty easy, instead of modifying the kernel itself, I just modified /system/etc/init.qcom.post_boot.sh. It already sets extra parameters for the CPU and system shortly after boot. Here are the lines that I added:
Code:
echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
chmod 444 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
What this does is it tells cpu1 to come online and then changes the permissions so user read-only so that it can't be overridden. This will be applied on every boot.
You can also verify this is working by any number of apps, but I find SystemPanel to be the best. They have a free lite version. Just download and tap on the top right where the CPU info is. You will the the CPUs changing, when it goes grey it's offline (which you won't see when using the Dual Core Mod).
aLogcat will also show you everything DCM is doing. Just apply a filter in aLogcat called DCM and it will tell you in detail what is going on.
If you want a little bit less info or want to use adb, just type su and then dcmlog and you will see what the 2nd core is doing exactly. This is updated every 1/4 second for extremely accurate results.

Download the mod below and place on your internal_sdcard or sdcard (doesn't matter, just remember where you put it!)
Go into Settings > Power > Fast Boot and uncheck that.
Turn the phone off. Once off, press and hold the Volume Down + Power Button until you reach the white bootloader screen
Choose "RECOVERY" (volume down and up to move, power to select)
Choose "Install" and locate the mod wherever you put it. NOTE: If you don't see it, make sure that either internal_sdcard or sdcard is mounted. This can be done via the "Mount" button at the main menu of TWRP. Be sure that either internal_sdcard or sdcard is checked!
Wait until the install is finished and then tap "Reboot to System"

=============== What are the "Memory Optimizations?" ===============The optimizations I made are the same that I have made in viperROM. They are as follows:
echo "0,4,6,8,14,15" > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/adj
echo "2560,4096,6144,7680,8704,10240" > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree

=============== What are the "Screen Profiles?" ===============The screen profiles are part of a custom script, located in /system/bin/dcmhelper. Once flashed, this .zip runs in the background to monitor screen state (uses hardly any power). When you choose a .zip with this in it, the phone won't just leave the second core always running - it will turn it off when the screen is off and on when the screen is on. This is done via this code here:
while : ; do
awake=`cat /sys/power/wait_for_fb_wake`
if [ $awake = "awake" ]; then
echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
awake=
fi
sleep=`cat /sys/power/wait_for_fb_wake`
if [ $sleep= "sleeping" ]; then
echo 0 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
sleep=
fi

=============== What is the "Auto Tweaking Script?" ===============The auto tweaking script is the second part of a /system/bin/dcmhelper. This part of the script will set certain governor settings based on the screen being off or on. In the viperROM version, the screen on settings are the same as in the ROM. In the other versions, the screen on settings are more set for performance. I intentionally kept the same settings in the viperROM version to make sure you get as close to the same battery life as unmodified viperROM. Here is a code snipit (from the non-viperROM version) that shows what the settings are:
ondemand_sampling_rate_awake=40000
ondemand_up_threshold_awake=80
ondemand_down_differential_awake=12
ondemand_sampling_down_factor_awake=3
ondemand_sampling_rate_sleep=80000
ondemand_up_threshold_sleep=95
ondemand_down_differential_sleep=5
ondemand_sampling_down_factor_sleep=1

Long story short, when awake, it will check if the CPU needs to increase speed faster and in bigger steps. When asleep, it will wait longer before polling the CPU to scale up and it will take a more gradual approach to scaling up. However, you shouldn't experience any lockscreen lag.

I took a look at the scripts... It should be compatible with Stock (and derivated ROMs like LeeDroid & so on), as on CM9/AOSP ones. The scripts seems to affect on low-level files (/proc) related to the chipset, so the affected files should be present on both Stock/AOSP ones.
I'm under CM9 for now, but a Stock feedback can confirm this? You?
Thanks to me ;-) Well he came here
EDIT: lol sorry, didn't see it was a flashable zip
So, flashed the ZIP, but cpu1 never comes online... The script disables it permanently? I expected a cpu1-offline under a load factor, and goes online over another load factor.

The One X guys seem to be having issues as well, it's hit or miss. Of course, I don't have issues in my testing lol what file did you use?
by linpack bench I can say 204 (and up) is stable score now.
in quadro bench:
before cpu score is 8486.
after cpu score is 8732.
so it's working.
Regards !
Thanks very much for this mod, going to try it out right now. Some questions on my part: (1) can this put any long-term additional stress on the cpu by forcing it to work more? (2) If a ROM is updated, does the script need to be flashed again after flashing the ROM? Again, thanks a lot; will try it out now and report my findings on the LeeDroid ROM.

No, no added stress and yes, you will likely have to reflash after a ROM update since most ROMs wipe /system where this script is located.
The script installed fine and my ROM booted up nice and fast. I will now do benchmarks and other daily tasks while observing my battery life and report back with my final findings in a few hours. So far seems good.
I am on LeeDroid's latest with the full script installed (tweak scrip+mem opt+screen prof).
How did you come about those minfree values? Do you know offhand how the numbers in your script compare to those used by the minfree manager app (i.e. MFM uses MB, are your numbers in KB?)
My results: Battery seems to be better, yet performance is not so much. Both Quadrant and Antutu benchmarks show slightly lower scores than what I got right before flashing the mod. The difference is very minimal, just curious as to why it would be lacking ever so slightly. The general UI seems just as snappy as before.
Is there an app to view exactly what the CPU is doing and how many cores are running? If so, please share! Thanks.

Yeahhhh haaaaa!!!
hehe good testers, for good scripts man!
Updated to v2.1! Much, much improved thanks to my 3 great testers rohandhruva, remedy1419, and ewalk4866 for testing numerous builds and spending hours making sure this is as bulletproof as possible. Please see the OP for full changelog. A few other notes about v2.1:
I dropped a few of the versions because there were hardly any downloads on it. The "3 in 1" had literally 10 times the amount of downloads as some of the other versions. Based on this, memory optimizations are included in all builds. The naming scheme has changed as well, info in the OP.
Please use aLogcat if you want to view everything DCM is doing. Just apply a filter in aLogcat called DCM and it will tell you in detail what is going on. If you want a little bit less info or want to use adb, just type su and then dcmlog and you will see what the 2nd core is doing exactly. This is updated every 1/4 second for extremely accurate results.
Battery life should be very good on Ultimate because of the settings I have set. If for some reason you can verify that the mod isn't working by using what I said above, please let me know. I have verified with numerous people that it works, so it could be a minor issue in the flashable .zip. I'm not anticipating any issues, but anything can happen.
Enjoy
Nick's Phone V1.0 Based on Oxygen and Built From Roalex Sources
First of all, big thanks to AdamG, _thalamus, Roalex, everyone at Cyanogen, ihlades and everyone else who helps the desire! (And others I've forgot!)
I wasn't going to build Android from source because I knew it would grip me and consume me but I couldn't help it! I've been building Oxygen and Roalex from source and have added in my own changes in to both. I've settled on Roalex because it has more patches and updates than I can be bothered to add in manually! (I don't use github, all my changes are done offline etc)
Anyway, the ROM is based on Roalex's source code for his Wip branch as of the beginning of August with:
Lockscreen calendar - with the next 3 appointments shown up to 1 week in advance
Lockscreen Music controls - appear when music is playing and screen is locked, ONLY WORK WITH STOCK GINGERBREAD MUSIC PLAYER! (for some reason). They do work with Winamp but it sometimes mixes up play / pause modes. Not sure why but I prefer the stock player as it's lightweight and themed with my own mods
Lockscreen Torch - long press the home button to enable the torch (I use this so much I had to have it!)
Swipe Away Last Notification and Close Notification Tab - Bit of a gimmick but I liked it!
Fix alarm snooze / dismiss unlocking the screen - Cyanogenmod has this but Oxygen didn't, so I added it. Basically when you dismiss your alarm it unlocks your screen! Which is annoying!
+ My own ICS based theme I've done. Please see screenshots.
All my changes are hard coded in and CANNOT be turned off. Sorry, I could add in the ability to turn them off but this is based on what I want and use so I didn't want the ability to turn them off because I don't want to!
I've also added my own Go Launcher ICS theme, Go Widgets Theme and my calendar ICS theme for Android Pro Widgets.
I've used Holo Launcher as the default launcher and have modified this also, with some graphical changes I prefer!
I've also added in a modified stopwatch & timer app themed by me.
There's also:
720p HW Playback
Trackpad to wake (NOT to unlock)
SDCard buffer modified to 1024KB
T9 Dialler
I've decided not to add in any build.prop tweaks as I'm not convinced they do anything! Or do very little, so I've done none of those this time but anyone is welcome to add them in if you choose to.
As with all my ROMS, this is provided "as is" and no warranty is given or implied, so you can use at your own risk.
If anyone notices any bugs / issues then please let me know or post here!
Anyway, enjoy!

As per the instructions for MW's ROM (thanks SydBarret55), If you want apps on sd-ext:
1. Activate sd-ext:
Go to Setting>Applications>Development
Check SD-EXT
Reboot phone
2. Choose the default location for applications:
Go to Settings > Applications > Preferred install location
Choose sd-ext
Or go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25430232&postcount=3812
You can also move apps individually:
Settings > Applications > Manage applications
Touch the app you want to move, and then touch where you want the app to go e.g. Move to Phone, Move to SD-Ext (EXT3 or EXT4 partition) or Move to SD card (Fat 32 partition).
Again, the link above has screenshots to show you what to do.

Downloading as we speak. Will give this a try.

Has this rom got any sort of A2SD built in?
Looks great! I'm about to try. Thank you!

What ICS theme are you using?
Thanks

It's basically a mix from the original ICS ROM, Sonny's amazing CM7 theme and some of my own work from all over the place! Like the circle battery mod is taken from the online kitchen (or from dGB by SUroot, can't remember where!) and modified to blue and grey by me. Most the notifications have been colour coded to blue by me and when you press menu, I've tried to colour code all those icons to white as well.
It's taken a long time to get to where it is but like I've posted before, I'm keeping my desire for another 8 months or more so want it to be the way I like it (and hopefully others do as well!)
Nick
Flashed this last night and i'm really impressed with it.
It's super quick. Even booting it up only takes about 10 seconds!
*edit*
Is there any way to change the clock colour to white? I've done theme using the UOT Kitchen and the blue clock doesn't look right.

I would have thought there's a way to do it in the Kitchen but if not you will need to use APKtool to decompile the framework-res.apk file unfortunately.
You can decompile it and edit the following bit in styles: (under res\values\styles.xml)

Or you can do it this way:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9978779#post9978779
You just need to follow the bit that says notification, date and time (decompiling the systemui.apk file).
Cheers,
Nick

Far too complicated for me :silly: i'll leave it how it is.
Excellent work.
I love the symbols of the notification power widget. Just out of curiosity, what exactly did you change/theme regarding the "Holo Launcher"? I've been using the launcher for several weeks now but can't notice any difference.
Great work!
Is there a stand alone Lockscreen Music Control patch for oxygen 2.3.2?
Thanks!
Tanks for this new Rom and for your work . I try it now.
Is your Rom multi-langages ?

i'm still running your previous rom, and i'm super happy with it. still super quick and rock stable. i hope this new rom is the same. :fingers-crossed:

I've only really changed a few things, mainly when you press menu the screen is transparent with a white border, instead of solid grey. Also when you press and hold on an icon, thats transparent and has a white border instead of just being solid grey and also when you go into a folder that's transparent with a white border. I've also made the return to desktop icon in the launcher brighter white and changed the play icon to ics blue instead of the semi-transparent white.
Not big changes but I prefer consistency!

I've not created one no, sorry. But it would be possible to do I'm sure. I think all the changes I made for lockscreen controls are in the framework-res location so a patch would be possible, but I won't be doing one, sorry.

It should be as it's based on the original oxygen / roalex sources and they are multi-language. Please let me know how the lock screen calendar looks because there's a string I changed in values for how the date is displayed, such as:
core/res/res/values/donottranslate-cldr.xml
<string name="abbrev_wday_month_day_no_year">E MMM d</string>
But I ONLY added this to values, not values-es and values-it etc etc so I hope Android will default to english and not crash if there's no language specific change. EG:
core/res/res/values-de/donottranslate-cldr.xml
<string name="abbrev_wday_month_day_no_year">E, d. MMM</string>
I presume it just means the date will be formated in UK format and not Spanish, but should still display correctly. Hopefully someone can let me know or post a screenshot to see if there's any issues.
EDIT: Just changed my language a few times and the lockscreen didn't crash or anything it displayed the date but I'm not sure if it's doing it wrong, but it looked OK but I only speak English unfortunately!

If there's a serious bug or update and there's a need to update the Tom then I will do yeah. But I wont be releasing minor graphical changes because the rom is pretty much where I want it graphically.
As for the kernel, I recommend the one that's in the rom as its thalamus' r4 release which is the latest one but has roalex's patch for call recording. If you want things neat you could flash thalamus' standard kernel on top but I expect that would break KSM if you use it (I don't)

Now that you've mentioned it, what are the benefits or using KSM?
I've read a bit about it but, as with compcache, swap and that kind of things, I never find to understand the "pros and cons", and usually dind't feel big differences when enabling and disabling.
Thanks!

I don't use it to be honest and I would doubt you would find much benefit from turning it on. I think it's mainly for when you're running virtual machines on a single host or if you run lots of similar processes on the same host.
So I imagine if you could make 2 calls at once and put one on hold while talking to the other etc then KSM might be able to use parts of that process and merge them in memory, potentially saving memory (totally hyperthetical here!). However, it's probably very minimal gains versus the time it takes for your phone to keep analysing memory pages to merge them!
And in theory, your phone should release memory used for processes once they've finished so even if you did save memory by using KSM in this hyperthetical situation, when you end both calls you should get the memory used released and back available anyway!
I think it only helps to run / do more things at once rather than get speed benefits because if 2 processes need the same memory page again it will create a copy and you have 2 un-merged pages again and more memory used up.
Someone more techy might provide a better insight but in a phone I would say it's not necessary. On a hyperV server running 20 virtual hosts I would say yes!
Guys,
Look @ this Chinese ROM.. Looks cool.. but not able to download, some how i managed to create account in the site using Google translator. Can some one look @ to this?

Well it looks like Virtuous Infinity base with a lot of this.
But still sounds impressive. I was thinking about a port of ViperX (because it is Sense 4.1), but it will take a tremendous time on resizing...

I'll take this on recommendation and try it later for fun - even though I don't like sense and will probably just run FTL straight over the top of it

Yep the link form my post.
The tweaks are stolen from team Venom's ROM that is for One X but still the combination of Fallout base with them is just marvelous.
It has an option for AOSP lockscreen, configurable quick settings, but in a separate tab, etc. Worth checking just for the play

English and Chinese
But if you copy the files from the attachment to the respective folders in /system/customize, before flashing you will have all languages
The keyboard offers you to download your language when you have internet connection
And it is Sense 4.1. I am definitely keeping this as a daily. It is based on Fallout so should be less resource hungry than Virtuous Infinity (just a theory at that point)
Hint: it comes with aroma installer in Chinese but there are not much options, so just click the green button (that should be Next) and it installs. At the very first screen there are 2 options - first is to wipe dalvik+cache, second is a full wipe.Then just next...
Excellent thank you will give it a try

Added multilingual support and Fallout Tweaks in English but DO NOT use the Fallout Rosie Tweaks! Use the tweaks from settings
No full wipe required before install. When Aroma installer starts (it is in Chinese but do not worry, just press the green button - it is NEXT) on the first screen choose the second (lower) option it will make a full wipe (the first it dalvik/cache wipe)
