Maybe a dumb question but is there a way to boost WiFi detection through the device so I can connect to a WiFi hotspot from a further distance? Any suggestions?

Thanks. I just did that and it worked a bit better. Wasn't sure if there was a plug in adapter I could get for my phone or not.

4g is 3g on the inspire. There is no separate modem for 4g like the EVO.

GSM only will turn you to E(2g).
If you change the phone to GSM only, restart it. (turn it off and then on) Otherwise it will auto switch back to H in about a minute.

Leaving it off fixed my wifi slowdown issue. Phone also seems to run smoother too. Any https traffic will remain encrypted and any other ssl or other socket connection is still fine. I don't get what the true advantage of this feature is except adding overhead to the phone.

Leaving it on protects you from people who know how to sniff cellular networks.

My wifi still slowed down so I turned it back on. This is my only major issue with this phone.

I've been using hotspot for 3 years and now they blocked me? So they want me to pay again for the internet I'm already paying for? There's no way to bypass this $#!T and keep doing it like before?

Good question!
I'm not dev but I don't really think so, it depends on your signal. I'm just guessing, maybe I'm wrong.

why?
Self Bump..
the issue seems to be with my router.. whenever i use WIFI at home it makes my phone do this.. but anywhere else i use wifi its fine and connects right back to data..
