[Q] Best Music Streaming App ? - Kindle Fire Themes and Apps

I am looking for a Music Streaming service for my Kindle fire, that i can use an APP to access the service from my Kindle.
Considerations :
. Must work outside US (in Brasil)
. Doesn't have to be free (a montly fee is OK )
. I would like to stream my own music collection
The ones i've checked :
. Google Music - US Only
. Amazon Cloud Player - US Only
. Live 365 - Excelent, but only for radios. Still excelent
. Rdio - App from market is "uncompatible"
Any other ideas?
Thanks !

try skifta, you have to have the app on your kindle and the software downloaded on your pc (both free) this is what I use to stream music, video, and pictures from my pc. It even has remote capabilities if you are on another network
PC: http://www.skifta.com/
Android App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skifta.android.app

Look up auto proxy and use Google music

[Q] where can I download movies for my tablet?

I have a android tablet and I am going on vacation soon where can I download newer movie to play on my tablet? I use to use torrents but my internet company started to send me emails about violating of terms and they may cancel my service.
I don't mind paying for the movies what are some websites that I can purchase and download from.
has to be mp4, avi, or a .3gp encoded with the MPEG-4 code format to play on my tablet
I believe Google play itself has movies and TV series, check it out.

OP, this does not directly answer your question, but you may want to consider it since it has worked out for me very nicely.
I have a rooted Nook Tablet and wanted to place movies on it for my upcoming vacation (long plane trip each way). I ended up buying a popular ripping program (not sure if I'm allowed to mention product names) and ripping some of my DVD library onto my laptop. Then I transferred the movies to my tablet.
It was really nice to have something to occupy me during the 10+ hour plane ride each way. Hope this helps.

No it wouldn't, uTorrent remote is only used to pause and start torrent downloads that are located on his computer. It basically means his computer would need to be on the entire time he was using his tablet. The tablet would also need an Internet connection to connect to his pc to access the files. Thanks for trying to help him, though.
Just use Google Play Movies now that they allow downloading on Rooted phones.
Trewyy
Okay.
Though you could always install Internet Download Manager on your PC. It's much faster than utorrent.

How about YouTube Website
I used to purchase movies from YouTube and then download then to my Mac with Free YouTube Downloader software from enolsoft, but the downloaded movies are in FLV format, if you need to transfer to the Android Tablet, you may need upgrade the Free Downloader to YouTube Converter, which will enable you to both download and convert YouTube videos. Anyway, worth a try.

Stream Music From Drop Box

Since HTC One X does not have external sd card and most of us got 25gb free drop box space, I thought this would be helpful for ppl who want to stream music from drop box.
Reason in writing in this topic: My HTC One X was my first android device and I did not knew that we could stream music from drop box, so I wanted to list all the apps which I came across in my search. I hope this helps noobs like me.
Note* - Mod's if you feel this topic is unnecessary plz delete it
1) AnTek Explorer + AnTek Drop box / Box.net client
Free App, Music player is good (with Equalizer)
Read this to known more about how to add your drop box or box account - http://anttek.com/playing-music-with-anttek-explorer/
2) Just Player
After you install Just Player you need to install Drop box music provider
Free and Good music player .
3) Dropsync
Full two-way sync. Just like Dropbox on desktop
Instant upload: new files (for example photos) are uploaded to Dropbox immediately, no need to wait for the next autosync cycle
You can buy the pro version to get more futures such as
Sync multiple folders
* Sync the whole Dropbox with a folder on your phone or tablet
* Upload files larger than 5 MB
* No ads, of course
Finally if someone did not get 25gb free drop box space they can get free 50gb box space - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18221721

Audiogalaxy is the best thing I've found to stream my entire library from home. It's free. 6 or 7 of my friends are logged on too. If you have good quality source music, audiogalaxy will sound as great, better than anything else I've tried. It caches the next song so its ready as soon as you hit next. You can also login fom any computer by going to audiogalaxy.com and stream your library.

While I have found streaming music from dropbox to be very convenient, a major downside for me is the fact that it consumes a lot of your allotted data. Especially if you have a bunch of 320 kbps songs like I do. Memory really is this phones only major drawback, however I just tend to keep my library updated and it hasn't bothered me too much. 16 GB is still a lot of music.
I prefer storing pictures and videos on cloud since I view them much less frequently than I listen to music, so when I do need to access the pictures or videos I use a lot less data. Just my 2 cents

But that's only if your music is .mp3 or .flac (and you're willing to just listen to mp3 on the go). If you have a whole bunch of music from iTunes, Google Music is a terrible idea since it transcodes .m4a to .mp3. Amazon is a good idea too right now, but it does cost $25/year but it will just match a whole bunch of music rather than doing uploads.

Exactly. Just have to have an always on computer (like my cheap server I built with second hand parts that cost me <100$) and an always on internet connection.
Setup is even easy with subsonic because you get a yourname.subsonic.org address so you don't have to remember your own IP address.

Nice j dee! I hate it when my youtube shuts off in the gym. Can't leave the screen on and put it back in my pocket
Come on peeps keep em coming. I like the list so far. It's small and precise not large and burgeoning. Let's go over something very relevant: STREAMING from your HD
Jbeans 4.2 Camera- Full Screen Camera (compared to 4.1.2) and gallery you could flash for your 4.1.2 phone
Mediahouse Player- An organized app that collects all the shared music videos off of shared directories on your computer use in conjunction with. Allows you to favorite directories/devices. Really neat app
mx player- easy ui can easily disable/enable hardware software encoding for audio and video during play
v player- like mxplayer, could be better with UI, but unlike MX player allows you to set buffer to a whopping 8mb...so longer initial load for video but plays back perfectly otherwise
ES file explorer- save network drives
I usually make the default player for ES v player and for media house mx player. Good setup. Mx Player allows you to manage defaults for video players in-app too. Another neat feature. Well worth the money for that app.
From the computer end there are a lot of options to stream (I made a post about this a while back...search on me) but I like PS3 Media server 1.70.1 for my PS3. It allows for real-time transcoding for devices where your video format (ie mkv) isn't available. I also install TVersity server on my computer end and both servers as well as the raw files allow me to wirelessly stream every tv show except for planet earth which has a ridiculous bitrate.
Only other thing to worry about on the computer end is to make sure your sharing settings etc are set up as openly as possible. I have a homegroup password and everyone in it is allowed to at least read my directories
Hey zetsui,
sure, I love my HOX and GNEX phones (by now even more than my PC) and why not participate in sharing cool underdog apps?
Is that Mediahouse player the one you can download from the Play Store? Sounds pretty usable to me

Way better than stock audio recorder. Can record as mp3 at 128kbit/s, good enough for me. Of course, you can increase it. Can record as ogg too.
Solid explorer
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer
Might be popular, but worth a mention anyway. Fast, free, full of useful features, no ads... Did I mention the slick ui?
Cpu adjuster
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ryosoftware.cputweaks
Like setcpu, but free. You can have 3 profiles in the free version. Ought to be good enough for beginners.
Also worth checking out: servers ultimate.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icecoldapps.serversultimate
These apps are in xda too, but play store linking is more convenient.
Advanced Touchpad Remote Control
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arcoid.advancedtouchpad&hl=en
Turns the phone's screen into a multitouch touchpad.
Perfect for Laptops with short HDMI cables.

[Mirror][app] TinyShark 3.1.5 (Groveshark client)

Update: I hadn't realized the original developer still has this on their website. I searched Google before but didn't find any place to download, that's why I posted the mirror. But later on I stumbled upon it. The developer's site is http://exigocs.com you can also download TinyShark Downloader from there.
It's no longer available on Play Store, but I downloaded it shortly after I got Android. I then discovered soon after it was removed from Play Store, so it has since lived on my sdcard with TitaniumBackup, since I did a lot of ROM flashing.
Despite not being updated for over a year, it works great on Jelly Bean , and is still is one of the best Grooveshark apps for android I've ever tried, with playlists, offline cache option, and more.
With offline cache, you can effectively use this as a mobile Grooveshark downloader. It dumps the songs into sdcard/tinyshark_songs/ where they have id3 tags, but are just named a bunch of numbers. You could cache them 1 at a time, then go there and rename the file to whatever you want, or you could just copy to your PC and use software to use id3 to name the files.
Here is the original description:
Listen to Grooveshark on your Android device for FREE.
- Search the Grooveshark database
- Import Grooveshark playlists
- Play individual songs or an entire playlist
- Cache songs for offline playback
Does NOT require Adobe Flash to play music (Settings -> Use Flash Player). TinyShark now does not need Flash for music playback, but it is still an option for those that find it works better.
Starting with version 3.0 a lot has changed under the hood. A lot of fixes are being made so check for updates often. If you are having problems try reinstalling and create a new shortcut in your launcher. If you are still having issues please email details and send any crash reports you can.
Thanks to everyone that's been emailing!
To download songs try Tinyshark Downloader also available in the market.
Taken from:
http://www.bestappsmarket.com/p/app?appId=8894&title=tinyshark
It really works much better with "Use Flash Player" unchecked. [You have to do that to enable Offline Cache]
The app id is com.exigo.tiny

Not the artists I listen to. I buy direct from them or their independent label.
If your music is controlled by the RIAA then you need to stop listening to USA Top 40 and go out and find real music.
Either way is better then supporting this app.
But back to why I brought this up, if XDA allows this app then why not all the other MP3 downloaders in the play Store?
Mod maybe answer?

Somehow my T-Mobile connection seems to be blocking the tinyshark connection. Whenever I use the T-Mo data connection, my tinyshark would immediately show disconnected.

Play to remote device (Bravia in my case)

Hi, I'm using Galaxy R with CM10
I have this Sony Bravia Internet TV.
Some of you guys must be familiar with Windows 7 & 8's 'Play to' functionality.
U can right click on any media and select play to-> Bravia(Both connected to same wifi)
This feature is also there in S3's stock music and video players.
So I can hit play to from my PC or an S3 and it directly starts playing on my TV.
I need this feature on My SGR running CM10.
The SGS3 ported music player doesn't work on CM10
So I'm basically looking for an S3 music player port for CM10 or any 3rd party player that can give me this functionality!
