Within a few hours, how to mix 2 rom ..... - LG Optimus 3D

hello. Long ago I visit this page, for reasons to upgrade my cell phone or other matters ...... in this last time I gave a lot of work p920H LG Optimus 3d. In this forum were throwing ROM's based on each update that came out, but in many cases CHILE or other countries, the connection was lost forever data (3G). For this reason I saw the need to know more, and found the solution by joining various data, especially to extract a file. KDZ, then use Smart Update, and this is where I could finally use the "baseband" (. Fls) and the rom (. bin) 3D Optimus had to fix. I used the tool b2cmarwin, something, to install the version in force. KDZ 20A and 21A then, I used the. Fls with 20A version. Bin 21A version. Stressed if I had a lot of patience, because to do each update had to do the configuration of the cell (first use), make ROOT, install ROM manager, flash recovery (had to do it from rom manager, flash from the PC and it did not work) .... etc.
Well, I hope I can explain better after sleep (xd), with links and an image, and also ask if they can edit the 3 ROM are updated on the development forum for the 21A version, because that still does not change much and I can combine them with the baseband 20A, which is what keeps the 3G connection.
Greetings and thank you very much to all the people who make it possible to customize our equipment n_n!
PS: sorry if it is badly written, the translation is thanks to Google xD: D

Is it safe to flash any BASEBAND on any device with any rom?
I have LG Optimus 2x, which baseband is safe for me for Indian section.
How to flash BASEBAND?
I think that you shouldnt flash any baseband becouse the carrier specs in your country. And you cant flash any baseband because you can brick your device.
I have tried to do and I brick the phone to my brother so you do not recommend it highly ...
Thanks pals for your replies. With some guidance from other people in various forums I flashed almost all (around 11) basebands (BB) on my LG O2X and voila...I survived in every attempt except one.
After one of the BB flashing, my device went dead though was fully charged. Then charged battery seperately and tried again with repetitive attempts and it came back to life. Now I am not scared of bricking. I opened this thread when I was not confident enough now I think I am.
Yes also got the best combo for my device as....
1) Baseband: 725 V20L (from temaseks folder)
2) RIL: 725 V10d Europe (downloaded with GetRIL app)
Trust me learnt bb flashing in single day. After every BB flash was able to flash roms and RILs too and noted down the results of each combos. That helped me to get the perfect combo.
Getting improved network, clear quality sound of calls, hi-performance 3G, etc. with all Indian leading mobile carriers.
Thanks a lot for your warnings....friends....keep helping...

Optimus 3D SU-760 Users (Pls. Contribute Here) Upgrading, Rooting, etc

Hi!
(Mods, please correct me if this thread must not be placed here.)
My motive is to gain people to help us with this Korean Device. I'm located in the Philippines (I'm a Filipino) and bought the unit with a Korean Friend. I spent hours of searching the net hoping to avail help from developers. I found only few. Most of them in Korean/Chinese language translated using Google translator.
Its been several months now since i bought this, I'm still enjoying my phone despite of it being different (atleast for me who lives in the Philippines and in XDA-Community), compared to P920 who are in this forum. I struggled from upgrading it from Froyo (2.2) to Gingerbread (2.3.5 v20e), believe me, my fingers are crossed when i have the guts to update it, for i couldn't manage to fix it in case it bricked. I Really envy guys who uses P920, they have all the resources from great people here in this forum.
If you are a User of this phone or atleast know something how to upgrade or develop it for the benefit of us noob people (atleast me). Please help a user like me by posting your contribution here.
My contributions: (Problems and the help i found)
If you have a better solutions, please contribute. These are based on my noob experience, please don't laugh at me..
1. Upgrading
There was a thread here who used P920 flash for their SU760, it bricked their phone. I dont know if it was unbricked, how he did that? thats why we need a thread like this. In english.. he he..
As for me, I used the official LG Software Update Agent. It worked like a charm. As a precaution, i backed up all my data, but to my surprise after the upgrade, All programs remained intact! That was from Froyo 2.2 to Gingerbread 2.3.5 v20C...
I have to admit, for me, the 2.2 runs faster and had few problems as a comparison to the 2.3.5. Last week, a Root worked for the v20C, so i Rooted mine. Too exited noob as i was, i accidentally uninstalled minor system app. This drive me to update again using LG Software Update Agent again. And it did! now my software version is 2.3.5 v20e, official software.
If anyone who has a better experience than this or who has an upgraded software than i have, please help me.
2. Rooting
As i mentioned, A week ago, from korean/chinese site (i almost learned their language! lol!) they said in the past they were not successful in rooting v20c or v20e. The Rooting software was capable of rooting v20C and v20E (among others)
The Post for SU-760 came from here.
http://bbs.gfan.com/android-3717040-1-1.html
but then soon, i read from xda developers that it came from this Author
http://vulnfactory.org/blog/2012/02/26/rooting-the-lg-thrill-optimus-3d/
3. 80 Character SMS
This is what drives me crazy about this phone. In my usage, it only sends 80 Characters not the standard 160. I must limit my SMS to 80 characters or else, the message will be broken. I used Go SMS in this setting. I learned that Korean system uses 2 bits compared to our single bit, that's why it only sends 80.
Handset SMS miraculously solved this problem. (i wish it will be the same with GoSMS)
4. Stock Aps
These are killing the RAM usage! This what motivated me to root my device in the first place, and what drove me to accidentally remove system apps. I used the System App Remover to remove them. Maybe Ill use other app next time.
TV w/ Antenna
It never worked here, I also tried it in Manila (the major city in the Philippines), did'nt worked. I wonder if anyone managed to make this work!
Someone Please Help Me:
How to put/upgrade to a custom rom. (So i will be freed from stock apps)
How to Upgrade or Change Baseband. I really dont know much about this but i have a feeling i need to match it for Philippine usage. I wish to have an H instead of 3g connection. a Getril app didnt worked as of the time i posted this. I emailed the author, if i get help, ill post it here.
So far, these are the major issues I encountered, ill just add later if i have more time and recalled some more problem i fixed.
My helps came from Korean and Chinese forum, the translation is very very hard to understand! If there are Korean / Chinese people in this forum who could help us, please do so, atleast in English Language please.
hey dude! you can root official V20E ,right now no rom better than official V20E for poor LG SU760.

Thanks... yap, i was able to root the official 20E.. pity my SU760.. i wish there would be more user of this phone to surface around this thread..
tiger, you are from china... is there any cooked rom you could recommend just to free myself from the logo and other pre installed app of the "T mobile?"
Thanks alot for posting, atleast im not alone (using SU760) in the universe of XDA-Developers.

Hi All you Guys,
Heres my experience..
Jump Start
As you see I'm also from Philippines too and just had this Device as gift for my Wife almost a month ago (its around my budget that time and its 3D). I got it first using GB and I just updated it using V30B.kdz that I found floating around the web - Here (if you happen to cant download it you can use any proxy known to man to by pass limitations) using LG Flashtool (pretty much automagically and easy) - Here. Back then my Wife is as happy as child. But all has its limit. After update my Wife noticed performance issues, lagging and too much wait times. So I decided to root it using - This but be sure to use v1.6 and to open it use 7zip app for Windows (Google it). After Rooting first off to do was to Install Busybox and try out V6supercharger, w/c eventually made progress and made the phone quite snappy. No problems, redraws and slowdowns encountered from my Wife except that I cant stop to look at the Custom Roms available for SU760 and personally I still think its still too slow from a device having good Dualcore CPU and decent GPU.
Customization
Reviewed a while, talked to some people and downloaded necessary tools and apps. Target was to flash XBSAv5.2 - Here (yes this works on our SU760). First I got many Bricks and Bootloops but able to resurrect my device using this guide - Here and then found out that it would be safe and easier having the x-loader and u-boot made by wkpark, download this (the loaders were inside /files and /resigned, but if you have trouble locating those you could try this pack - Here) and follow this Guide and use this recovery Pesach85 gave me - Here. After all those stuffs I finally able to boot at recovery anytime during bootup, simply press Vol Down while on the Silver LG Logo boot screen and it will launch TWRP, from there you could flash XBSA v5.2 and if you want to try PH85 Kernel on SU760 download this version Pesach85 gave me - Here. Final touch was to apply the build.prop patch located at XBSA ROM's OP and to use the Original V30B Camera - Here. Thats all I did on my O3D SU760 and now somehow it became fast enough having Camera load for just 5 seconds.
Note: My Wife's setup is
Launcher: Go Launcher
Locker: Go Locker
Sms: Go SMS
Social Apps: Facebook, FB Messenger, Tweeter, YouTube
Settings: 3G when needed, WiFi at Home, All Social Apps Notifier ON, All Sync are ON
She get those setup and ask me why her phone slows down.. Tsk women..
Internal SD Card memory is still working after flashing XBSA v5.2 rom?
My experience was not good with that rom so I never tried again even after 30B official upgrade.

upgrade
hi please i need help. i upgrade my lg-su760 with lgmobile support tools but after completion the is no more responding it will blink 3time with lg logo and than off, i dont no what to do. please i need you guys help on what to do. here is my [email protected] god bless

Totally bricked!!

Hi guys,
Well it just happened the unwanted.
After an unsuccessful upgrade to 20E I'm left with a bricked phone.
My phone is an European version (p920). I've tried all procedure described on this forum about how to get him back to live but all ended into a failure. The bin methode gave a partial "success" but at the end it made things worst cause it messed up my baseband and now it doesn't have a GSM network and there's no IMEI.
Well I tell you how all these happend.
A couple a days ago I was having 21A installed which I ended up rooting it in order to try some custom roms. I have tried a couple of them but at the end I was having some troubles with my wifi connection so I decided to revert back to 21A or just install another once using the kdz update method.
It was while upgrading to 21D that I got a connection fault and I had to detach and attach the phone. First I though it would be a cable though I changed it and I started all over with the provided cable from LG but always with the same results. As a result the phone didn't power up. I founded later that it powers up only when the wall charger is attached.
After many tries and after reading how to solve this issue I gave it a try trough flashtool with a bin file of 20E I downloaded here in the forum. I tried several times but after 95 seconds the upgrade just fail, well it never really got further. I also tried to flash a GB baseband and I remember once it got up untill 75 seconds of progress and the I got and ERROR. I remember the same happened when the first leaked GB rom came out and you had to flash the baseband separately using these method.
I can't get the phone into recovery mode. I ran out of button combination don't work. I read that some other people were having the same issue and they haven't found a fix yet.
Sorry for the large story but I wanted to be clear with it.
Can someone point me out how to solve this or just come with some ideas.
I really thank you in advance
Lucio
Have you tried this method?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186460
It worked for me for about 3 different types of bricking, even though it's very tricky and frustrating to get it to enter emergency mode correctly. However, when it does, it feels like a better way to flash a rom in my opinion. I prefer this method when installing a new rom.
Using V20E in mine right now.
Works just fine.

HI XBALL,
Thanks for the links man. I was using old driver and that was causing the constantly connection failure. I download the new USB driver trough the LG Updater app ( Recovery Phone) and installed them. I disabled the LG Android USB moden and started the upgrade procedure with a full success.
I've crazy for about three days. Now time for a bier.
Thanks

Running Thrill on tmobile using o3d firmware

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but after hours of searching and trying different things, flashing and rerooting and the whole ordeal, i'm exhausted and just want to ask for some help.
I was recently running my Thrill with the v18a GB baseband and AcuraTeam Ginger ROM and was getting 3g/HSPA+ no problem, but for some reason ran into some issues where superuser would deny root to anything but itself and I couldnt find a workaround. Then i came across thrill v20p official GB so i decided to go through the process to flash that, then i went ahead and dropped over to the ThrillSeeker 2.1 ROM but unfortunately was stuck back on EDGE only speeds and the tmobile HSPA network was not selectable like before, only the GSM. So i have been searching for hours for a workaround, even tried flashing the v18a baseband over the v20p one, and that just made the radio quit working all together. Wouldnt detect networks or give any type of signal.
So i've read around about people flashing the O3D firmware on their Thrill to basically mimic an O3D phone, but they get the right baseband and are able to achieve the 3g/4g speeds on the right radio bands that tmobile uses here. Does anyone have any information on this subject, or maybe how to fix my problem with ThrillSeeker v20p so that i may be able to once again get 3g/4g?
I would really appreciate any and all help. Thanks!
O3d roms work without any issue on thrill.
Good to know! Thanks!
If i'm correct, the baseband isnt part of the rom. If i flash an o3d firmware to my thrill and load a o3d rom, will that allow access to the 1700 band (etc) that tmobile uses to achieve 3g/4g here in the US?
you mean to say thrill firmware and the o3d custum rom (firmware through kdz and then custom rom through CWM) seems like it should work. You may search the forum as i think there are posts claiming that even using complete o3d firmware they were still able to get 3g speeds(not 4g)

[P920]what firmware to flash to not lose IMEI, networking, 3D camera and others?

I've started installing custom roms for P920 and opened a can of worms having ultimately to find the original firmware to fix my IMEI, signal, camera and others
What stock firmware can I flash on P920 that doesn't break my phone's functionality? I've flashed v20d because it said it's LG's latest recommendation for P920 by using search by IMEI here :https://lg-roms.com/?id=, but that didn't restore any of my functionality until I installed v10L, a french orange rom probably identical to my original one, so I don't know if now I install v20d again that it won't break my stuff again
Need help from someone who upgraded successfully to tell me what to properly flash. Thank you
P.S. Also, are v2, v3, v4 firmwares for LG better for it's battery life? I've installed a v4 custom rom that burned through my battery just idling...
EDIT: changed tactic for picking my target Android. My main criteria is longest battery life, beside getting a firmware that works for p920. I'm amazed how hard is to get a straight answer for minimum system requirements but I've found a credible answer here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/education/intel-education-software/000006179.html which tells me not to install v4 or higher on p920 ever - in fact I run a cyanogenmod rom and was very sluggish. Because v3 is one for tablets and brings nothing meaningful according to my criteria, that only leaves gingerbread (v2.3) and froyo (v2.2) to pick from
Also, this comparison helps: http://socialcompare.com/en/comparison/android-versions-comparison
Also a good read: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/201...rbread-four-years-later-the-os-just-wont-die/
Then the question becomes since I'm already on v2.2, what v2.3 P920 original firmware I can flash w/o losing imei, networking, airplane mode etc.? I seem to believe from all I read that I simply lost that functionality because I've installed custom roms in between, and I can install any P920 original firmware but need confirmation
EDIT2: experiment:
battery test in idle airplane mode: 1 a.m. 100%
battery test in idle airplane mode: 9:30 a.m. 94%, that's 0,63% / hour. BootV21E from the unbricking tutorial lost 75% in ~12 hours, like 1000% more because airplane mode didn't work, and so did the other roms I tried. That's the difference between proper firmware and improper firmware
EDIT3: installed v20d because it seems the right firmware: https://lg-roms.com/official-firmware/LG Optimus 3D-LGP920/V20D/ROMANIA
seems everything is working. Testing battery again on airplane mode. I must say froyo looks better than gingerbread theme Must change...
LG specs are full of shat about battery on stanby (460 hours or ~20 days): http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_3d_p920-3759.php
EDIT4: v20d
battery test in idle airplane mode: 13:11 p.m. 95%
battery test in idle airplane mode: 20:43 p.m. 93%, that's 0,26%-0,4% / hour.
EDIT5: v20d
battery test in idle airplane mode: 20:43 p.m. 93%
battery test in idle airplane mode: 15:38 p.m. 88%, that's ~0,29% / hour, that's 344 hours in a 100%, which is 460/344 = ~33% battery degradation in 5 years (according to spec, didn't measure battery actually resisted 460 hours on idle)
consuming (idle mode)
I'ld say I've succesfully upgraded, thanks xda-developers!
my short tutorial after opening the updating rom can of worms, so I remember myself in case I need to:
1. (problem, or your can of worms) installing a custom rom even if it sais it's for your exact model is bound to cause problems, as I tried the most seemingly wortwhile ones and as they each were missing something or behaving bad
2. (solution, which I didn't figure until the end) is to go back to original firmware, in my case french orange something v10L for my p920, since the original was bought through orange obligatory 2 year monthly paid service. Point was however to update w/o losing functionality, and so far I haven't tried flashing a clean firmware. Will come back on that perhaps. I've picked up my firmware from this list: https://lg-roms.com/?load_page=search&q=p920&page=1
3. (solution) after realizing you need a baseband they say to have a signal on those custom roms, you'll flash a baseband zip or something else that will "brick" your phone like I did because it also overwritten the bootloader badly, not allowing to boot anymore for instance. This is the solution: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2246001 There are actually more threads about this but this is what worked for me and seems the most easy. Just be sure to try and try again because if something doesn't work you're doing something wrong
4. (solution) what nobody told me is that you're supposed to put the kdz file in the same directory as lg flashing tool 2014 (wich I don't know if it works because I used the one from the forums: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190 You can also use smartflash to flash bin and fls firmwares, which you pick from here too: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734330 In this post is the only place I read about putting the kdz in the same dir. If you can't flash kdz for some reason you can make from it bin and fls files like this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245469 however they say it may cause problems
5. (solution) after finally flashing the original firmware to get your stuff back, you might end in a bootloop. This is what you follow to fix it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2426426
6. (solution) after losing IMEI files I fixed this by going back to original firmware, however it had another IMEI number written in them, which I rewritten using tutty like in this tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734330 If tutty doesn't start or gives errors on write, try spamming it to start or the write imei command, it's got personality like that but it eventually works (don't ask me why, haven't seen this in computer programs often). Perhaps my cable is old, who knows
My bottom line is: don't flash custom roms unless you know how to not lose your functionality or how to fix them, and not even developers don't seem to do it since all roms have one problem or another which isn't mentioned in the custom rom's description. If you do however, this is what you go through fixing your phone, more or less
