Hi All,
Not really sure what's happened, my phone (HTC Desire Bravo PVT4, S-OFF, AlphaRev, CWMR Touch) decided that it wouldn't detect the SD card (In recovery or Cyanogen 7.1).
I've tried all the usual suspects:
Cleared Cache
Cleared Dalvik
Cleared all user data
Tried a different SD card
Nothing... then I noticed my phone is displaying some other curious errors, bluetooth won't enable, and there is no network at all.
The weird thing is, if I clear user data within Cyanogen and reboot, it'll connect to the network provider and give me a data connection for 60 seconds, it's as if clearing something in use data sorts it out, but as the boot process continues it's reverted.
Since SD card mount is disabled within CWMR, I can't flash a backup so I've been looking into ADB to flash the images back (So far without success, as I don't have the bandwidth (using wife's phone as a modem at the moment) to download the entire SDK so I just downloaded: Adb.exe, AdbWinUsbApi.dll, AdbWinApi.dll and installed the Android 1.0 HBOOT usb drivers... adb cannot see the device (Windows detects it fine though))
Unsure if related, on powering up the phone, Windows searches for "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies" the phone is GSM not CDMA.
I have multiple issues here and I'm at a loss as to where to go... any help is appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.
Edit: I can boot to Cyano/HBOOT/Recovery but without SD access, I can't do much, especially with adb not working
Edit: Fixed, it was a USB brick... identifying the issue was the hard part, the fix is easy, you'll need the mini SDK there is a download on this forum: instructions here: androidforums[dot]com/desire-tips-tricks/365476-guide-usb-brick-fix.html
Can't post links... but you get the idea.
Hopefully someone else will stumble on this thread as the symptoms are rather strange.

Just rooted my HTC Desire (Telstra Australia) for the first time (TMod LeeDriod 2.5 A2SD Final) and all indications were normal until the first reboot. My phone cycled through the "Why So Serious" splash screen about a dozen times or more before getting to the LeeDriod boot screen. I then got everything working, set in the Telstra settings (as I had no network) and rebooted, and the same thing happened again! 12 reboots on the Splash-1 (WSS) screen, then it went again to the LeeDriod initialisation screen. It has retained all of my Telstra settings but now I have no phone connection!!
I have good wi-fi connection but when I check Network Operators for available networks, I get the message "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network".
HELP! How do I restore to my original ROM if I can't fix this??
P.S. My phone model now shows as an A8181 when I am sure it used to say A8183
Oh and the system says my SD card is not mounted. Even in recovery mode it is telling me it is unable to mount the SD card. I cannot even get Telstra ROM reflashed as the RUU says it cannot talk to my phone. Under Device Manager, my phone comes up under Other Devices "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" three times!
How do I flash the ROM when it cannot talk to the SD card?? I have even tried another SD card and it is not recognised either! I have also tried reformatting my SD card via GParted and have a 1GB ext3 partition and the remaining 14GB or so as FAT32, but still no luck.
I can now also confirm that when I boot to HBOOT, I get a few lines of messages that momentarily flash mid-way down the screen saying something about an image not found. I have tried to start the whole process again but am unable to get AlphaRev to recognise the phone, nor Windows... :-((
In HBOOT when I go to recovery mode and try – mount /SDcard I get the error:
E:Can't mount /devBlock...(something or other...it reboots before I can copy everything)
Update - Issue appears fixed
A link on Roms-au.com / installations / extras / fixing-usb-brick provided to me on Whirlpool forums appears to have done the trick. Not only is the phone identified now, it boots immediately and correctly as you would expect...and my SD card is back!
Now the question is...can I assume that all is well for the long term? Is it possible that this fix was necessary because of a bad flash to start?? Advice here would be appreciated.
Hello All,
I wanted to post this to the Android Development section but since I have fewer than 10 posts I am forbidden from doing so.
Intermittently I will notice some apps do not load images or act as they normally should, and upon opening Solid Explorer to do some investigation I receive an error message (Cannnot browse to "/mnt/sdcard". An unknown error occured.). I find I am unable to access the internal sdcard through Solid Explorer, and when navigating using Root Explorer it only displays an empty folder.
This seems to happen at least once a day, and restarting my phone usually fixes it at least for a few hours. Sometimes ending all applications through task manager & clearing RAM memory through RAM manager will allow me to normally browse my internal sdcard using Solid Explorer for about a minute or so, and then become unaccessable again. Phone reboots seem to be the only fix, albeit a temporary one that only lasts a few hours.
I am unable to save screenshots when this occurs, unable to save pictures, some apps do not function properly -- all which makes sense if the phone is really unable to access the internal sdcard. I have performed numerous wipes (full wipe, cache, dalvik) & reinstalled newer nightly SynergyROMs but I have been unable to fix the issue. Searching these forums has not brought me any relevant information which pertains to the same issue I am having.
I appreciate any help or insight you guys can provide, thanks for taking a look.
Quick Background:

No external microsd card
Unlocked & Rooted
Running SynergyROM Nightly (r73)
CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.0
Why would you think to post this in Android Development? This is a question, and thus belongs in Q/A (where it is posted). Android Development is for people who actually developed something, like a ROM, Kernel, etc.
I don't know what kind of advice to give you though, besides try formatting in advanced options of CWM, a reprovision (*2767*3855# ) on stock (back up everything first, to somewhere other than internal SD as it will be wiped) or maybe a 32GB PIT, with a PIT being the least likely solution.
I second this question!!

I logged in today because I am having the exact same problem. Same ROM as well, Synergy r73. I've tried formatting the SDCard, tried a complete reformat of the phone. But nothing seems to help.
Also, to clarify, it isn't restricted to the external SD card (which mounts to /mnt/etxSDcard folder). It's the entire /mnt directory that hangs. I'm able to go into options and mount and unmount the external card fine. But as soon as I try and access /mnt using any app (andExplorer, Wifi File Explorer, even a simple 'ls' in terminal) the phone hangs, stops responding to button presses, and eventually reboots itself.
Also, I've found my timing matches Kenshingtx's as well. If I reboot the phone, I can access external storage, and the entire /mnt folder for that matter, just fine, and it stays this way for about an hour or so.
Any further ideas are greatly appreciated.
btw, I think he mentioned posting the Android dev because there is a thread specifically dedicated to this ROM with numerous questions and answers in it. (Albeit hard to follow since it's over 800 pages) I already searched in there and found no mention of this issue.
The SD card problem sounds like something that used to happen with the old modems.
Go to about phone and check your baseband. If it doesn't end in G7 or HD then you have an older radio that had this issue.
Here's a link to where you can get what you need that explains everything better then I could.

My phone has the G7 modem in it.
Thanks for everyone's input so far. My baseband ends in F2 so I'll try updating my modem and see what that does (even though nerfage seems to be having the same problem with the G7 modem). And you're right, I wanted to post in the synergyROM development thread thinking the problem might've been specific to that ROM.
I'll also look into reprovisioning on stock rom per Zalithian's suggestion to wipe the internal sd card, and see if that helps.
@nerfage - I dunno what the problem is then, could be ROM specific. If you figure out what's wrong post how you fixed it here. You may also want to try flashing the HD rom. Might fix it, might not.
@Kenshingtx - Not sure if the wipe would help so make sure that's an absolutely final thing, googling around is always useful. Hopefully the flash thing does the trick though.

Flashed the latest modem ending in HD, and tested my phone over the weekend. Still having the same issue where the internalsd becomes unavailable. Wondering if the hardware in our devices are faulty..?

My phone appears to be fixed. I backed up all the files on my mnt/sdcard, performed full/cache/dalvik wipes, formatted internal memory through recovery, flashed the rom again (decided to try Beans ROM this past week) and I haven't had the same issue come back. It looks like the cause of the problem was something on my internalsd, try formatting it (after backing up any files you need) to see if it'll fix the problem for you too. Good luck.
Note: the fix does not appear to be related to the ROM, i was having the same issue on the Beans ROM as well until I formatted the internal memory
Today I figured I'd try installing a CyanogenMod into my U8815/Ascend G300 Huawei phone, however the result is that it only got bricked (I think). I have been following a tutorial here: huaweig300.com/huawei-g300-install-a-custom-jelly-bean-ics-rom-from-scratch/install-the-custom-rom/
Since my phone had already been rooted when I bought it (had Superuser installed), I proceeded straight to installing stuff. I downloaded the CM ROM from here: modaco.com/topic/367019-kk-441-cyanogenmod-110-rom-nightly-builds-available/
However, and I think this is why I didn't succeed, I negleged to install the CWM provided in that post, because I have used ClockworkG300.exe that was given in the tutorial, and it had a slightly lower version (v6.0.1.2 to be exact).
I put the ROM .zip file and GAPPS into my micro SD card and proceeded to follow instructions - Power+Vol Up, install from .zip, and bang... it failed, saying "(Status 7) Installation Aborted". I thought - OK, I'll just restart my phone, upload a lesser version of CM or higher version of CWM and try again, however phone only boots back into CWM Recovery (boot loop)... I cannot access my SD card now, nor anything happens when I plug my USB cable in... I tried using adb, various other tools, like flashback recovery, etc. However, none of them discover my device, even when I power my phone on while holding Vol down (just freezes on logo, PC finds the software, but doesn't allow me access anything there) and plug my USB cable in. And yes, I have updated my drivers for win7. I also tried wiping cache, and data, but to no help.
Of course, I was stupid not to backup anything, but there has to be a way to unbrick/restore previous versions, or at least access my SD card. I have no other Android (or other device which uses micro SD card), I have lost all my adapters I had, so I cannot access my card via devices that might be able to connect to PC. And I'm not sure I have a card reader that could read micro SD (I'll check it out though)...
Help me please, I need to be able to use my phone... If any more info is needed, just ask. I have tried googling for solutions, however, none helped.

Hi there,
So I have my good old OnePlus One, but its got a few issues and I wanna fix them.
The problems are that apps suddenly crash. Facebook Messenger and YouTube (only when casting) are the main two. I assume this is caused by dirty flashing between versions of CM13. The other issue is that the phone will lose all mobile data connections randomly and the only way to bring it back is to reboot the phone, aeroplane mode or 3/4G toggling doesn't fix the issue. My guess is that maybe the modem is incorrect?
I want to do a full reflash of CM13 by Jgcap, its the current ROM I'm using. I also want to format the partitions to F2FS because the ROM supports it and I've wanted to move to F2FS a few times but something usually goes wrong.
I'm using the official 3.0.2-0 TWRP but I cannot get it to mount ADB/USB at all, the PC detects that a 'Google Nexus ADB Interface' device has been connected but doesn't come up with any storages. Changing which partition which is mounted has no effect. So if I did format the partitions to F2FS, I wouldn't be able to put the ROM back onto the internal storage as the PC isn't seeing any storage devices.
My plan is to do a clean reflash of the CM13 and have the correct partitions formatted to F2FS, but because of the above issues, I cannot change the file system to F2FS because in any file system, the PC cannot see any storage devices when I mount TWRP and connect the USB.
It seems I have some issues with the USB driver. Even when I'm just in windows and normally connecting the phone when its in android, the USB seems to not work first time. If I connect my phone, it will show as 'A0001' in Device Manager but with an exclamation mark next to it. If I then unplug and replug the phone in, it will then work fine without issues. This has been the case with this phone since I got it, the above workaround means I can connect the phone to the PC for file transfer but it is annoying!
So I guess my questions are, how can I reinstall all types of correct USB drivers for the phone? and also which TWRP version should I use for the ADB/TWRP file transfer to put a ROM on the phone after formatting to F2FS? Flashing the firmware, ROM and Gapps etc, I have no issue with.
Sorry If this is hard to read, piecing it all together is frustrating.
Any help would be great!
Thanks,

Dear Community,
The day before yesterday's evening, my Lenovo YT3-X50L Tablet suddenly shut off. When I tried to boot, It showed me the login screen, I logged in, but one second after showing the Home Screen it crashed and rebooted. I logged in again - it crashed and rebooted again. I couldn't get into my device anymore.
I tried to use the recovery and made a factory reset, after which it showed me the usual Google setup menu (language, wifi, etc.). But it always got stuck at getting a wifi connection, although status was already "connected" and the wifi was working.
I erased the system partition (I don't know if this was a good idea...) and now i cannot boot into anywhere, I only see the Lenovo logo when starting.
I installed ADB, Fastboot and Lenovo downloader on a Laptop. After some hard work, I managed to get an ADB connection and could backup my data.
So now, I just want to put my device back into the state it was when it was shipped!
What I want to mention first: It seems that my sd card was corrupted, I don't know if this was the reason or has anything to do with my sudden device failure. I noticed this because of a mount error in recovery. I formatted the sdcard to FAT with the laptop and the mount error is gone now. The sd card was set as internal storage in Android. If this is possible, I would prefer to use any tool like fastboot to de-assign the sd card as internal storage, and only use the device's own internal 16GB storage, which is more than enough for basic functioning.
I downloaded the device's stock ROM from firmwarefile (just search "Lenovo YT3-X50L stock rom" on google, it's the first result, I am not allowed to post links in this forum as i am a new user) but I don't know how to properly flash it. Flashing the system_xx.img, boot.img, userdata_xx.img and recovery.img files (fastboot flash blabla blabla.img) doesn't make the device boot.
The Lenovo downloader tool isn't working for me. I installed the Qualcomm drivers as described and when I start my device with USB cable connected it shows up in the Tool window, status "flashing", but then gets stuck and doesn't seem to do anything.
Please Help! Might the device itself be dead? I would be very glad if we could resolve the issue very soon because I am on a trip to CERN at the moment and will travel back in a week, and I don't have any other mobile devices with me I could use to show the flight ticket...
My data is already saved, as I mentioned before - I just want my working device back!
