Is it possible (using adb) to flash the CWM system.tar file to system partition using fastboot? I have bricked one of my razrs and was on the 4.03 leak. I've tried flashing back to .173 and that didnt work. I do have the CWM backups from 4.03 but dont have access to CWM, is it possible to push the .tar files the same way you push the .img files using fastboot?
Thanks in advance!
Me too searching for this.

Never mind guys, got it working! after the via terminal, i just reflashed on Rom manager. Its ok now, i can get into CWM. Any idea why this would happen in the first place though? its odd.
you have to edit the official OTA zip file and remove it from there I'm working on it
Hello i think i bricked me phone... I unlocked my one S installed flashed recovery and rooted it.
the i installed cm10 nightly, but it stays at the cyanogenmod load screen.
I can get into bootloader and recovery but ive been dumb enough to not backup my stock rom.
Anyone has a suggestion for what to do now?
Is it possible to flash using fastboot maybe?
thanks
Not fastboot! Use an RUU and do it that way.
There might be a problem with your cm10 download. Anyway you can't flash Rom in fastboot but while in recovery you can mount sd card (internal storage), copy any other Rom (maybe download any other nightly) from your pc to sd card, unmount and then flash. No need to run ruu.

Simple question:
Is there a way to use Odin to copy a file to my phone in download mode? How?
More detailed version of my situation:
I'm mid-root using the process here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046439.
I neglected to copy the SuperSU bootloader to my phone before I flashed VRALEC and installed CWM Touch Recovery. Now I'm looking for a way to get that SuperSU Bootloader zip onto the phone so I can use CWM to flash it! Alternately, how can I undo the first two steps to get back to stock so I can copy the file where it needs to be?
Thanks
Anyone?
Again, if you have some idea as to how to restore factory recovery and undo the VRALEC (bootloader?) using Odin that would solve my problem as well...
Thanks in advance...
You can wait till you're in cwm, mount sd card, and then flash it and you should be fine

Thanks for the response. My problem is that I don't have the zip on the sd card (internal or external). I could pull the external card and put it on there via computer, but for some reason I can't seem to mount that card in cwm. Again I'm stuck... I can get into cwm but cwm can't see the "superSU_Bootloader_FIXED" zip to continue my root sequence. I'm starting to look for a stock image to take it back to the beginning.
Still scouring the forums... given I've used VRALEC and installed cwm, can anyone tell me if this would work:

Why not try "install zip from sideload"....as long as you have a Windows computer, adb, and the drivers for your phone setup correctly you should be able to flash the SuperSu zip straight from your computer to the phone!

I recently rooted my one s succesfully. I go through twrp recovery and try to install a custom rom always unsuccessfully. I think the problem is that it cant extract files in my sdcard after mounting it and puting the rom zip manually by pc there, but i am not sure. It stucks in the HTC screen with no further progress. What can i do?
Seems like your phone is s-on. If that's the case you have to flash the boot.img file manually via fastboot.

Mainly you can, better should do these two things:
1. Using TWRP version 2.3.3.0 for flashing as later versions exactly produce your kind of error
2. Flashing the kernel separately from your rom.zip file with 'fastboot flash boot kernel.img'
Im trying to restore my pantech p9060 stock rom using the file recovery.img which someone posted on xda without instructions Using fastboot/AIO Flasher (a fastboot/adb gui) i flashed the recovery.img file to my recovery partition That didn't restore the stock rom My phones still the same as before Can anyone tell me what i'm supposed to do with the recovery.img file to restore my phone to stock rom? please thanks
