I S-offed my device via htcdev.com(as Revolutionary IO method didn't work for me). I flashed CWM 5.0.0.8.
To supercid my sensation, I followed the guide on this link :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
When I try to do the the SuperCID part of it, I get this:
C:\adb>fastboot oem writecid 11111111

INFO pyramid_init_sd, SD card power on ok
INFOsdcc_init_memory_device done

INFO[JAVACARD_ERR] SMART_IO.CRD cann't find
OKAY [ 1.081s]

Yes, my phone is detected when I type "adb devices".
Yes, I'm rooted. When i downloaded root checker app from playstore and checked it.. it said "Rooted".
Please help. Thank you in advance.

Using htcdev method to unlock your phone doesn't give you complete unlock solution it prevents fastboot commands that's why you are unable to supercid your device using fastboot command.
Using HTC unlocked bootloader you can still flash roms but you can only flash roms which are having stock kernel as option like ARHD. any other kernel will not be accepted by bootloader

So what can i do next?

I got a method which can be done through adb shell or terminal emulator
But I haven't tried it myself but the comments are showing lot if success so try at your own risk and follow the steps carefully

Yeah I came to know that too.
I'm just trying something and verifying it
I'll give you an update in few minutes
Edit1:
Can you first verify your CID and MID and post it here
type "fastboot getvar cid" and "fastboot getvar mid"
these commands will work as they are doing just reads
Edit2:
Can you give me small info?
Type
"dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p16 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p16_bkp"
Without quotes on terminal emulator after typing su
(Be careful while using dd command its extremely low level command and its quite risky(may brick the device if typed wrongly)
so double check the command before pressing enter
Also this command will just read the block so it might pose no problem but be cautious just in case)
And send the mmcblk0p16_bkp (will be at sdcard root once you type the command) through private message to me/or post it here if its fine with you

Exactly the same problem HELP! I want Sense 4 ORDROID and it just won't flash because the firmware won't flash because i cant supercid! The problem is the same! Because i used the HTCDEV method
Sorry can't help you in this case.
I've confirmed with devs .
No one for sure knows where/which partition the cid is stored.
So modifying the partition won't do and its pretty dangerous which might brick your device.
So we can't change cid without fastboot command.
I'll dig further and will let you know if I got any leads

guys are you sure you are soff
i mean when you unlocked your boot loader using htcdev the bootloader reads unlocked ...but wont change s-on to s-off
so double check the s-off and if you are s-off then you guys have
a big chance to completely unlock your boot loader and also get supercid
so if you guys are soff then flash the latest firmware package again
then you'll get both soff and supercid

someone might try revolutionary to get the bootloader unlocked (or not )
You are clearly **unlocked** but still S-ON.
Use Revolutionary to S-OFF and then supercid devices.
Beta key is case sensitive so be sure to digit it correctly (usually this is the main reason why it doesn't work at first attempt).

revolutionary does two things
1.unlock your bootloader completely (unlike HTCdev which unlocks partly)
2.S-off your device
Right now you are out of luck
but there 2 promising developments happening which might get s-off on hboot 1.27

Sorry, I was new to this actually. I only unlocked the bootloader. I was/am still S-ON.. Anyway to get to S-off? Or suppose I get an official OTA update from HTC (which I think I will get though I have unlocked my bootloader), will everything be back to how it was when I bought it?? So that I can start everything afresh with Revolutionary method. I am not going to htc dev method again!
Please help.

If I'm correct htcdev won't actually give you full s-off. It's only a partial unlock. If possible try to unlock with revolutionary. I don't see why people use the htcdev when we've already done it.
What PG58IMG are you flashing? Full ROM or something else? More information required!!
use revolutionary to get s-off then flash PG58IMG in hboot

Now when i try to use the revolutionary S-off method it says wrong device with my drivers and such. I'm lost.
Shall we try.... if you install the latest stock ruu and then try to use revolutionary, that might help as you'd flash the hboot which is in the ruu, thus revert back to the original condition of the phone for which the revolutionary tool is designed.
Give it a shot and post back
and install the relevant ruu for your device (unbranded/branded) and if it doesn't work try to flash it trough fastboot

It will work too. You've got same hboot 2.xxx and are ever s-on with the same firmware . Don't forget to relock your bootloader using fastboot before flashing RUU.
fastboot oem lock
The only difference is that HTC now know you've unlocked your bootloader and can void your warranty if something goes wrong.

Just do it already and stop shooting things down. I understand that you are already unlocked, but if you took the time you would see that people that have unlocked have used it, you will only need to "fastboot oem lock" to install the RUU, READ and it will all be clear.
Also if you want to get into the details, then yeah if you are unlocked and have rooted or have a rooted rom, I assume you are, then just jump to changing your misc version cause you already have root #, no need for temp root, but for you I suggest you just follow it cause you will confuse yourself, .
Also just make a goldcard for the hell of it, casue I am unsure if you have a unbraded phone.
@foX2delta:
I tried it before I unlocked with htc-dev and it didn't work... so I#m not really sure
and does it work, if I got allrdy flashed custom rom (primo-s 1.3)? And if not: can i re-unlock with "fastboot oem unlock" ?
EDIT: my device ain't branded... deviceinfo-app says htc-europe...
Thanks a lot pplz... ill try and post again...

Yes 1.28 or 1.47
Yip, I told you, MAKE goldcard, remember?
Run the fastboot command "fastboot getvar all" remove yout imei from your post.
You will now have to make a coldcard on your PC (not sure if you can use another phone)
Check here, kashoulis post 11 and you can also check here
but the device is not branded... crappy...
ok ill take a look...
what does getvar all do?
crap: -> cidnum: O2___102
so i cant unlock my bootloader again?
@rizmdee
Yip, see the CID O2__102, means your phone is O2 branded.
I think, not sure though, you can try this RUU. I think, judging by its size/data its a 0.98 hboot (O2_UK_1.31.206.1), but I am pretty sure.
SO give that one a try, if that fails you WILL have to make a goldcard.

Also, there is no s-off yet for HTC One S.

Thats how I was able to get the three Bell Mobility RUUs onto FileFactory. But I am curious about your carrier as it may already be in his list.

My carrier is cellcom, israel.
My phone, HTC Sensation XE, is S-ON, on default ROM, and has HBOOT 1.29.000. Needless to say, my phone is not rooted.
The phone is on a boot loop ever since I last took off the battery and placed it back. I sometimes get a message that my Android system is getting upgraded, terminating with an error "System UI has stopped working" before the phone restarts itself again.
I don't know if this is a hardware issue or software.
How do I get my phone to a normal state? I don't mind rooting the phone if I need to for the purpose of installing default/custom ROM. But I don't know if this would be possible because I only have access to boot screen at present.
Please suggest me suitable solutions. Thank you

When I try and do SOFF using KGS utility, it restarts my phone because my phone is not HTC dev unlocked. (My phone's motherboard was replaced some time ago, and so I cannot unlock my phone.)
ganeshp's one click root requires SOFF. I can't SOFF using his technique because temp_root.bat doesn't work in bootloader screen.
I am in trouble, and don't look like getting out of it

@ganeshp's one click root doesn't require htc dev unlock (meaning no prequisite permanent root; the guide has steps for temproot).
You just need one boot.
Do this: get the boot.img of your current (stock rom) and type fastboot boot boot.img.

Thank you

I know its a long shot, but you should try doing a factory-reset from the bootloader, just in case it works.
Otherwise run an RUU from the bootloader.
firstly Itsakash he can't S-OFF because the device must be booted to the OS
secondly Far_SighT the command is fastboot flash boot boot.img
thirdly as raz0rf1sh suggested factory reset is a good idea and
fourthly jiteshgawali can you post your bootloader details?
It really is great to see your input guys.
@Far_SighT: I have tried doing the temp_root method, but it doesn't work for me. I could successfully run temp_root.bat just once (luckily, even in boot loop), but next when I tried doing the Juopunutbear SOFF it missed detecting my phone (again, because of the bootloop)
I don''t know where I can get a boot.img file from; for what it's worth, I could only get an OTA zip file for my region/CID from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764025
@raz0rf1sh: I have done factory reset several times from bootloader, doesn't help friend. I don't have an RUU for my region/CID, all I have is an OTA zip file for my phone from the link I have specified right above this. Can't seem to get an RUU for firmware base 3.33, and CID HTC__038.
@rzr86: Posting all the details I am aware of currently:

For stock rom go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923629.
Get the rom and extract boot.img.
Then use the earlier command I posted.
Yes I haven't seen Indian version ruu until now ..so ruu is out of question AFAIK
Now the factory reset over boot loader should help if you have software problems but as per your replies it didn't work it seems
Tried HTC Dev unlock ? Even if the motherboard is replaced its worth a try
If htcdev unlock failed
Then try to go to recovery first ..from boot loader and if you went to recovery properly let me know
The other solution I propose is try to do change the cid ..even on locked bootloader sometimes it works
Try these commands one by one
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
Then
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then check cid using this command
fastboot getvar cid
If cid changed that's a good sign

I said fastboot boot boot.im instead of fastboot flash boot booti.img as the previous one boots the rom with with the new image but doesn't attempt to write that to the boot partition. Hence it might get him a much needed boot to s-off.

Thanks for responding Ganesh. HTC Dev Unlock never worked for me post change of motherboard, but thanks for the suggestion.
I am able to browse the recovery option from bootloader properly.
And it gives me a little satisfaction to let you know that I was able to change the CID to HTC__001 following your steps. Can you suggest what I should be doing next?

Hi guys, first time poster - I want to install the following custom rom...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2442946
... and being new to android modding, do not want to brick it by doing something wrong.
I gather i need to set up superCID and then set to s-off - would anyone be able to point me in the right direction on how to do these correctly for a Telstra phone?
My phone is rooted with CWM, from whati gather (it says "ClockworkMod recovery" in recovery mode).
Thanks

You might already have SuperCID, you can use a fastboot command to check. The command is:
Code:
fastboot oem readcid
If it comes back as anything other than 11111111 you can use this method to get SuperCID.
Once you have SuperCID you can use this method to get s-off.

Thanks, i will take a closer look soon. Is it true that for Telstra phones the CID needs to be 22222222, or is 11111111 okay as well?

The 22222222 CID only applies to at&t phones trying to unlock their bootloader via htcdev, this is because at&t stock CID (cws__001) plus 11111111 CID have been blocked at htcdev. For your purposes 11111111 will be fine.

Thanks for the info - i know i need to superCID as i checked last night and CID was TELST001 (from memory). Will use 11111111.
No problems, did you use the fastboot command the check your CID? I only ask because there are apps available which claim to display your CID but they show the original CID, not the current one.

I tried so many things last night i couldn't tell you exactly what i did, haha! Will try your way and see what it says.
A quick question - in regard to the facepalm link, it says "Download patcher and unzip it in your working directory" - can this be any folder on my phone (eg: Downloads)? I'm also guessing the other file (OneX.zip) goes in the same directory?
No you place the extracted patcher files and the PJ8312000-OneX.zip into your fastboot folder on your pc.
You need to have adb/fastboot and HTC drivers installed on your pc to do the s-off process.

You should keep better track of things you are doing or you will end like NASA on Apollo 1 and not knowing what went wrong.
To repair something you need to know what you did to break it.
Big thanks timmaaa, have upgraded successfully!
twistedddx, you're not wrong - i should have kept an eye on what i was doing. Luckily for me, all went well!
Thanks again.
Glad to see you got it all sorted mate.

Thanks, when you talk about beastmode, is the following link what you are referring to?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797251
Also, with firmware 2.15 - i would actually like to keep it as stock as possible, so perhaps the firmware upgrade would be the better option? I have found a link that looks like it goes to the correct download:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45646878 - (see last post)
Would i be right in saying the instructions for updating the kernel would be the same as at the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423735 - (OPTIONAL: Installing the Firmware)
Thanks again for your help.
The first link is incorrect, you can find the Beastmode kernel in our development section. The kernel you just install in recovery.
The last link you quoted is where you'll find the 2.15 firmware, and the install instructions see in the first post on that thread (it's a manual install using fastboot).

Thanks - looks easy enough. Can i ask what why i would install Beastmode instead of the firmware upgrade? From what i gather, it is to overclock the CPU?
You can leave the Beastmode settings stock, it's just an easier and safer fix rather than upgrading firmware. You can OC if you wish to of course. There's always a small risk involved with anything that touches your hboot.

Thanks, maybe i will install beastmode instead then if it will help fix my connection issues. Sorry, but would you be able to point in the direction of where it is in the development section, i cannot seem to find it.
I promise if this works you wont have to hear my noob questions anymore!!
