[Q] Using SGH-1727 on Tmobile - Modem? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I have the SGH-1727r from Rogers, unlocked, currently running Superlite ICS 5.0.
I have a working Rogers SIM, and a working T-mobile sim.
I will be traveling to NYC next month and want to be able to use the phone there.
Do I need to flash a custom modem or rom or anything else to make sure it works?

[Q] n00b question regarding Straight Talk and ICS

I have ordered a Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (I727) unlocked and plan to use it with Straight Talk using an AT&T compatible SIM card. My understanding is that this should work fine. My question involves upgrading the phone to Ice Cream Sandwich when it is available.
Since I will be using Straight Talk, I will not be an AT&T customer, but will be using their network. Will I get the ICS update when AT&T releases it or will I have to do something myself to get it?
I have never rooted a phone or flashed a new ROM and am not sure how comfortable I would be doing that. Would that be necessary to get the update?
Thanks
Since it's an AT&T phone you'll probably get the update along with everyone else.
You'll get the update. I've had to flash to 2.3.5 before and was able to go to 2.3.6 no problem. OTA still works. I'm on straighttalk

[Q] i727 on T-Mobile with Edge

Hey all,
I've been using my i727 Skyrocket unlocked on T-Mobile. But it has always been on Edge network for me. I read that this phone does not support T-Mobile band 1700/2100 so that's why it cannot have 3G/4G. Anyone in the same boat as me whose figured out how to get it working? Perhaps with a radio flash?
Thank you for reading!

It will depend on if you have an ICS or GB rom running currently. I have the I727 CM9 (ICS) unlocked/rooted on TMO too, and was able to finally get off edge running the Tmo_SGH-T879-UVLG3_radio.zip. Get 3G most of the time, and occasional HDSPA.
Make sure you have the stock radio before you do anything and make a back-up to be safe. Move the file to your sd card and load via CWM recovery.
If you are on a GB version I cannot help you, sorry.
Best of luck.

I'm currently working on getting Sky-ICS on my phone. After I successfully put it in, I will try the radio you mentioned. Gotta look for
That radio to download first
Thanks a lot for your help!

[Q] Samsung Note 2 / Vodafone LTE issue on custom ROM

Hi,
First time posting, long time reading.
Having issues getting LTE/4G access on my Samsung Note 2 on the Vodafone network in Australia. I am currently running Hashchcek v2.5 ROM on 4.1.2, have a baseband of N7105TDVALK2 and using saberkernel.
According to Vodafone the baseband version N7105TDVDMB2 should have been pushed out with their update to 4.1.2 to allow LTE access.
Does anyone know how I go about getting this latest baseband or getting LTE as a network mode option?
Do I need to obtain the latest CSC/modem and flash with that? If so does anyone know where I can get this from? I have had a good look around and can only find the old Vodafone CSC which I am currently using. Can I just use the Telstra Baseband?
Or am I way off and someone can point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Installed the following and so far so good. Not in a 4G area ATM but will update once I have done some more testing. So far the 3G speed tests are noticeably better.

[Q] LTE with 4.4.4 Paranoid Android on Rogers

Let me preface this by saying that I have searched and searched for an answer, so if someone is able to point me to a relevant thread that can fix this issue I would be super grateful.
I have a rogers XT925 which I have managed to put the 4.4.4 P.A. firmware on after flashing to the RTRF KK update. I love this ROM (although I am a newbie to customs) and all seems to be working fine, but I have not been getting LTE service since the update. The best I have is H+ right now. Rogers is my carrier and I was receiving LTE from the stock JB firmware. I talked with customer service and set up the proper APN (found the info online, but wanted to verify it through Rogers). I have messed with the settings and put it to Global for network. I also did the #*#* thing and made sure it was set to LTE as well. Still nothing. I can only imagine that it is the modems that are not correct, but I don't really know. Has anyone else had this issue with P.A.?
Any one have a possible solution?
Thanks
I don't think the retail France modem supports Rogers LTE. You may need to try the BR modem but if you can't do that or it does not work you may be stuck waiting to see if Rogers ever releases a KK update to use the official modem before it will work again or try to downgrade back to JB.

flashing other roms

Just wondering if it is possible for me to flash a SM-N920W8 rom on a SM-N920T, or is there a way to get the CSC for bell as I am Canadian on the bell network
it should work fine as w8 and T use the same bands. i am currently using chat-r which is basically rogers and it works fine on a 920T rom and my actually device is 920w8.
