I didn't understand the first part of your question...
And for gps, try Faster Fix from market...set your location and you will hopefully get better gps connection...

Here are some infos, especially for europe and germany, to get a quick working gps.conf (in /system/etc) and satelite-fix.
For Germany / Europe, to get the time-server:
NTP_SERVER=de.pool.npt.org /
NTP_SERVER=europe.pool.npt.org
(For e.g. europe you can add:
server 0.europe.pool.ntp.org
server 1.europe.pool.ntp.org
server 2.europe.pool.ntp.org
server 3.europe.pool.ntp.org
but its not necessary imo!)
(More dates for the time-server, see: http://www.pool.ntp.org/en/)
---
The x-server, for to get the location (1-5, Vancouver and Seattle):
XTRA_SERVER_1=http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_3=http://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_4=http://xtra4.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_5=http://xtra5.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
---
The SUPL-server (Secure User Plane), to distribute the collected many different signals:
SUPL_HOST=supl.nokia.com
SUPL_PORT=7275
(For / in USA:
SUPL_HOST=supl.google.com
SUPL_PORT=7276)
Here the gps.conf, I'm using for germany:
NTP_SERVER=de.pool.ntp.org
XTRA_SERVER_1=http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_4=http://xtra4.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
SUPL_HOST=supl.nokia.com
SUPL_PORT=7275
To get an accuracy of 4 meters, it needs max 18 sec, min 5 sec for me, location berlin!
I also had a wifi problem. The eternally "Obtaining IP address" message, but I found that this problem was removed ever since flashing the more stable version of CM7.1.

I've seen that some of you have problems with configuring your GPS so I think it's about time to give a hand.
The problem is that custom ROM's, especially non-sense one's have the wrong NTP Server set.
Here are some steps in order to get your gps accurately:
1. Go to http://www.pool.ntp.org/en/ and search for active servers in your area
2. Get a file manager that allows you to change system files
3. Go to /system/etc/gps.conf
4. Edit gps.conf and change NTP server to the one you've find in first step.
5. Save the changes, then reboot
6. Get from Market GPS Status & Toolbox
7. Open the app, click on Tools->Manage A-GPS-> Reset
8. Then click again on Tools->Manage A-GPS->Download
9. Enjoy your faster gps now.
For those that the fixes above do not work, head over to the HD2 area http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953630 and get your flashable zip from there. They are splitted into regions are areas.
Thanx a lot!
Works fine!

In the MIUI rom you can go to Settings, My Location, GPS Configuration and change the NTP server there...
Yep, but this apply only to MIUI ROM unfortunately. That's why I posted a universal method.
Thanks Bioan for the tip btw there is an app in the market called fasterfix which allows changing the ntp server from the available pool, you just have to choose the one that suits you best
Great, it's all about sharing, that's what makes this the community.
I've added a link to this thread into the main INDEX thread (hope that you don't object?), it's at the bottom under USEFUL LINKS.
You've got one apk on the market, for make this:
With fasterfix.apk, if you're root you can do that automatically.
You choose your area and confim.
You could change your area's choice when you travel on another country or area.

I just noticed this today.
It defaults at North America. So i changed it to my.pool.ntp.org.
Am I the only one with a lots of problem with my GPS ?
The first fix takes like one minute. After that, I don't use my phone for a couple of hours, and then launch GPS Test again. Like 99% of the time I cannot have any fix. It seems that the GPS does not work properly : GPS Test shows me like 4/5 satellites, then suddenly none, then lile 1, then 2, then 4... Then none again, like if the GPS just restart or something. I need to switch my GPS off, then put it on, then reset AGPS stats etcetc, and sometimes it works again.
I've tried to set the NTP server to a French one, but it does not seems to change anything. Also, I've tried 3 differents radios.
Any help ?
Router Utilities v1.3 New Version!! Fixed some bugs because of portforward.com changes.
This is an application with various utilities for routers.
currently It has the following features:
- ADSL maximum speed calculation.The application can estimate +-10% the maximum ADSL speed your router should have. This is based on an algorithm which uses also statistical data. You have to find from your router page the downstream attenuation (dB). Then you input this value (dB) you get the distance from DSLAM and the maximum speed you can get based on your line noise.
-Application ports. With this option you can see what is the default port for each application. This way you can manual configure the port forwarding into your router webpage.
-Documentation of port forwarding. With text and screen-shoots from the router web page.
-Default Router passwords.
I would like to thank portforward.com for giving me permission to use their data.
Please keep in mind that this application is for people who knows what to do with the data provided! If you cannot use the data or Do not know how... Please do not rate negative..

I use android revolution hd 3.6.13 and had the update over the air, but since ive rooted my phone none of the gps programs find a signal? I know for sure it worked before, but now never get a signal. Google maps, navigon none of them get a signal, any ideas?
send from HTC Sensation rooted with beats audio using XDA Premium
how long have you waited for the GPS to find a signal? I mean, sometimes (especially after flashing a ROM ?) it may be really long!
Do the applications ask you to turn GPS ON when they start, or do you put GPS ON before starting the apps?
Also, you can try an app like A-GPS injector, from the market, that will update the list and position of satellites (requires datas to get the update)
Use the gps fix from hellstorm, search for the thread
This one http://db.tt/q1iZJvJU
Install on cwm, reboot, open maps, and wait, maybe you need to wait like 5 minutes the first time

Wipe EFS data
You could wipe the EFS data, it worked for me, and it's supposed to be very effective. Here is a link to a thread that has the instruction for how to do so: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12764930&postcount=1

hehe i have to take my time for this
oke thanks boys for your advice. Tomorrow i will take my time to fix this problem.

I don't think that, I've that issue for a long time and with hellstorm fix or faster fix with European configuration that would be work
Maybe reinstall the rom and try, don't despair ;-)

What kernel are you using? Is it the bundled kernel in the rom or did you flash another?
And maybe update your superuser app? I know another member had an issue with that specifically.
But my experience is that certain kernels don't play well with gps/agps, so I always tell people to try to get the kernel that is bundled in the rom, which devs usually test before releasing or a kernel closest to the stock kernel.
And if you are using any of the fixes here on xda. Do not use the gps fix app with them. Also, when you go into the /system/etc section make sure you don't have the suplrootcert file in there and the permissions of the new gps.conf file looks like this:

Hello, I'm travelling a lot abroad and have a roaming data plan... nevertheless I'm always over the plan....
Would like to be able to use whatsapp and block some other apps ....
The best would be to be able to blockbcettain data's .... for example pictures not loading in Facebook ....
Does something like this exist ? I'm currently using droidwall , but it doesn t give me the selective function !
Envoyé depuis mon GT-N7000 avec Tapatalk
Good idea, but it's not possible to have that granularity of control over random apps.
Sent from my superior GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
Yes you can. Try LBE privacy guard, it will let you specify which applications have the privilege of using 3G, which ones should only use wifi, and even blocking all data access for the apps you want to isolate completely. The app even let you choose which other permissions you want to activate, like making calls, sending sms, locking your position, you name it. Very powerful and useful!
Thats good news I'll try lit this evening !
Thanks
Envoyé depuis mon GT-N7000 avec Tapatalk
That only limits the app to wifi or 3g. It's not a roaming mode control per app at all.
Sent from my superior GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
Yes I realize that .... the app is working like droidwall.... the positive point is that you can have a promptasking every time, so you can choose to load or not....
But no content filtering ....
I found a temporary solution using the browser of ICS with the " no image function ".... (even chrome mobile do not have this option !!!! ) but this is messy and not practical !!

Hello boys. I'm Italian so forgive my English
Yesterday i installed "Zperience" for my Xperia U. This rom is fantastic, but has a few bugs... These bugs, for me, are very important.
1- In this rom doesn't exist "Google Search", infact i don't have a toolbar widget with microphone for "voice search", even in messages i have this option. I downloaded the app "Ricerca Vocale" from play store, but it are not integrated with messages, etc. It's only app in menu :/
(in options of messages, the item to enable the microphone in the keyboard is obscured).
2- I can not connect to gps. I active the gps but the search is unlimited.
3- What are the small app?!?! Before the smartphone is very fast. After, when i installed the smalls app, the smartphone have small lags!
Please help me, i'm hopeless! Thank for your support.
Bye, from Italy
Please...
