Hi
I got a small update from HTC on my Sensation with ICS - only 15MB
Not sure what it does - any clue?
My version is now:
3.32.401.5 which i think is the same as before
My sensation had issues since ICS (rebooting / overheating etc.)

You're the one who should say what this update is, since you got it. Did it change anything on your phone? Are the issues you had, gone now?
Sent from my Sensation XE.
This update just replaces the old settings.apk, so now there is in security checkbox for installing apks from unknown sources, there might be other changes to setrings apk, but who knows!

Please someone post this ota...
only the settings app was updated, some spelling mistakes got fixed, haven't noticed anything else. Still crappy battery, still random reboots, still "android upgrading" on each restart. the ICS update has made the Sensation unusable. I'm currently using my old Desire...
Ok I found the ota and LMW.apk and Settings.apk have changed
The following is confirmed fixed:
Wifi fixes
Wifi no longer turns on automatically (some say this is true, others say wifi still turns itself on so not confirmed fixed)
Spelling mistakes fixed
Install unknown sources checkbox returns for those that lost it
Below is a link to a zip which is flashable in recovery containing the 2 changed files
http://www.liamstears-dhd.co.uk/ics_ota.zip
For lmw read this (thanks Behold_this):
Its the app that controls the "make more space" functions within the storage settings menu (app where you can clear cache, old msg, temporary files and the like). The original app had a bug where if you tried to remove temporary files from sd card, it would delete other files as well.
This above bug is now fixed, confirmed by Behold_this

I didn't have any spelling mistakes on mine but suffered the crappy battery, random rebooting issues. I have reverted back to GB until htc fixes all the problems with the ICS update. I found the random rebooting very annoying and made the Sensation almost unusable. The last stock GB rom was actually very good and stable compared to the ICS one.

EDIT: Ok ive just had a quick go over and can confirm that there are many changes in both LMW and Settings
Also I can confirm spelling mistakes are fixed and there are many changes to wifi security and some changes indicating that they may have fixed wifi auto on
As for the unknown sources box I have always had this so cannot confirm nor deny if this has changed

What, if anything, have you changed or removed from the original update package? It was 15MB and your's is only 9MB. I'd like to see the official package.
Can someone please post the UNTOUCHED ota zip?

Its the app that controls the "make more space" functions within the storage settings menu (app where you can clear cache, old msg, temporary files and the like). The original app had a bug where if you tried to remove temporary files from sd card, it would delete other files as well. I lost 5GB of music that way (thank goodness for sdcard recovery tools). This is a welcome fix!

lol I just lost 3.5gb of music thanks to this LMW app. I didnt get an ota for this file only settings.apk was updated for me why?
I can confirm that I added an app with device admin permissions and the "unknown sources" option in the security menu did NOT disappear, so that bug is fixed. The WiFi hasn't turned back on yet
I wonder if T-Mobile USA got the latest patched update and are testing for their OTA?

Flash the EnableJIT.zip
Reboot (dont wipe)
It may boot loop once just let it go. if it doesn’t take reboot to recovery and flash DisableJit.zip

Strange but it was dialing right away for me until I set up my googlevoice app now the lag is back.
google voice will lag the dialer no matter what rom you're running.
it'll lag even more if you select the option for it to ask you each time you dial.

One thing I noticed after I flashed this to my hero was a2sd was version 2.7 Beta 7.
I was trying Fresh 2.1.2 earlier and I know that one used a2sd 2.7 update 1
I found the latest a2sd from another XDA post (sorry I can't post links yet)
so I copied that to my sdcard and flashed that and it seemed to update fine.
Is there any reason I should stay with the a2sd in the rom and not the updated one?
Flashed this a couple of hours ago. Nice to have a rom with everything in it. If I want something removed, then I just pull it. The only problem is that you cannot do a prl update. I pushed the OMADM.apk file from fresh to the /system/app folder and everything works as it should.
Great job getting this out there. Really appreciate it.
I have attached the apk to fix the updateing issue.
Only issue I've found so far is that Teeter won't run (It crashes for me on launch and I have to force quit).
Of course that may not be an issue for others, but I wanted to report.
Hello everyone glad to see there was a demand for something like this, Just my personal opinion but the dialer/phone lag seems to have been reduced greatly with the update, also the phone seems a little more responsive all around, havent seen any negative's about the update as of yet.

I was having the same issue updating my PRL and pushing the OMADM.apk file took care of it! On a side note I now have PRL 60666
Wifi Calling working on ROMs that don't have it included.
It looks the files needed as compared to other WifiCalling packages for other phones are:
/system/lib
libganril.so
libhtc_ril.so
libhtc_ril_switch.so
libkineto.so
librilswitch.so
/system/app
com.android.kineto.apk
Then in the build.prop append this line of text to the very end
Code:
rild.libpath=/system/lib/librilswitch.so
THE ZIP IS NOT FLASHABLE
Its only for testing purpose to make sure we get Wifi Calling working properly so we can make a flashable zip later when we start getting AOSP roms and custom kernels
I am going to work on a installable script from the terminal that will copy over the needed files to the correct directories then append the needed line of text do the build.prop
10Char, working on script
In one of the roms they had the t-mob wifi in a zip they didn't test it but I could look there
Updated with some more information that I gathered for testing
There is a kernel and a flashable zip that will put wifi calling back onto your phone. Check the insert coin rom thread for info on it.

I have always had low mic call volume running the stock ROM. This has been the case with both Sensations I have owned. Never had an issue with Skype, volume is always perfect.
Just tested this myself with the insertcoin build.prop (from the TMOUS Patch) and its working, using the libs and apk provided here.

give me some time to sort through the differences in the build.props to see what is triggering the difference in wifi calling working or not then we will see if we can get something made.
So after looking at a build.prop from Revolution HD and then comparing it to the one from Virtuous, Stock, and InsertCoin TmoUS mod.
I think I have traced down the issues, looking into it a built more. After I find the needed values I will see if we can make an install script that will mod the build.prop lines and add the libs and apk and restart the phone.
Update for complete working Wifi Calling. I have tested it a few times and it works fine with only these files at minimum, no need to add alot of extra text or HTC/Tmobile crap.
Works for me thanks. Took me a bit to figure out that you still need to install after copying the apk to /system/app.
Thanks again.

This is not a problem, the only issue I have with this is that you loose any custom tweaks or settings the developer made to his/her ROM because your flashing a basic stock build.prop
I will make a script here shortly that will copy files to the needed directories and then append the needed information to the end of the current build.prop, and all you will need to do is run the script from a terminal or from ADB off the SDCard after each update.
When I start the wifi app, it connects to my network, but it gets stuck on "enabling....". Any suggestions?
Edit: NVM. After I restarted my phone it worked. Thanks.
Wifi calling working for me but have a small issue. The outgoing mic volume is really low on my end. People on the other end of the line can hardly hear me. Any chance you could bump up the mic gain values a bit?
I am having a few issues:
1. When I turn off wifi calling, the app automatically restarts and re-enables it. This occurs even when I select cellular as connection preferences.
2. When I select cellular for connection preferences, with wifi calling ON, it still uses wifi. Why won't it use the cellular signal?
Thanks.
THIS THREAD IS OUTDATED. DO NOT USE. LOOK FOR OTHER MIUI ROMS AVAILABLE ON DEVELOPMENT FORUM.
As usual I won't hold any responsibility to any damages it may cause to your phone.
Thanks to Endless7 for research on this subject. Great work!
Thanks to dangpzanco and walter79 for support and ideas.
This is a simplified method of installing MIUI into Milestone2 devices. This ROM is based on Defy's WajkIUI 1.8.12 - MULTiLanguage. It's still a experimental port so not everything is working fine. With this package you DON'T need to flash any SBF into your phone.
Requirements:
- Froyo or GB rooted phone.
- CWM Recovery 3.0+. You can get it here.
Installation:
- Download update.zip to your sdcard.
- Boot into CWM Recovery
- Apply update.zip
- Wipe data/cache/dalvik cache/battery stats
- Reboot.
Notes:
- Update-scrip now backs up Swype during installation. If you are just updating your MIUI version you may not get Swype. In this case you must manually copy /system/app/Swype.apk and /system/lib/libSwypeCore.so. I won't include these files in my package as they're copyrighted and I don't have permission to distribute them.
Working:
1. Compass.
2. Sensors.
3. LED.
4. CWM Recovery
5. Device Keyboard
6. Keyboard Backlight
7. CPU Frequencies in Bootmenu
8. USB mounting
Not working:
1. Virtual keyboard half size (but now we have Swype)
2. ALT LOCK key from keyboard ( you can double press ALT instead of ALT LOCK )
3. Media HW play, only support .MP4 hardware decoding
4. Buggy message about moving data to sdcard in every boot.
FOR THE ONES HAVING PROBLEMS WITH GSM RADIO:
1. Search for Milestone2 baseband switcher app. If it doesn't work try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182050
Changelog:
20-08-2011:
- Fixed MIUI Torch/Light sensor/Backlight bugs from 19-08-2011 update.
19-08-2011:
- Fixed camera screen upside down
- Fixed USB mounting
- Added Swype Backup&Restore during installation
18-08-2011:
- Fixed CPU Frequencies on Bootmenu
- Fixed keyboard backlight and light sensor
- New bootanimation
Please, report any problems you found so I and the other may try to fix it.
Thanks

No luck for me with the GSM signal. This is pretty strange. Because under system-> mobile network settings, it shows my operator correctly but still there is no signal.

I have tried that. I get the signal every now and then. But after a while it drops.
I have heard that there are different radios (for GSM) available for CM7. So could it be that I need to use some different radio (if such a thing exists for Defy CM7)??
I mean a friend having similar issues with CM7 on Galaxy S told me.
Hey I solved my problem myself. I replaced all files in etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default/ in the MIUI ROM with the ones from w0ndersp00n's Deblurred GB (since I had no signal issues with it) and changed permissions of all files to rw-r--r--, now it works perfectly. No signal drops.

Hi guys,
I have a strange problem. All screenshots that I make are generating the files with correct datetimes as filenames but the size of the files is zero. So no screenshot is produced. Can you help me please ?

Problem : I have arround 500 applications installed (Link2SD) and all was perfect.
My backups are made by 4Ext Recovery Touch. Full backup, data, system, sd-ext, cache...
2 days trying how to fix it....
Any genius to help me ? I thought there is a lot of genius arround here... I'm still having the screenshot filesize zero... 4 days now... Is it possible to patch the system with a factory settings and system application/files to override what may have been altered or corrupted?

Try to get a logcat and see if you can find the offending application.
I finally fixed the problem. After a week of searching and reflashing and doing master reset and all... The problem was the UOT Kitchen Battery/Icones pack that i flashed recently. I just reflashed another pack and everything seems perfect now.
Thank you my friends !

Try downloading and flashing the 3110 version ( is the one to use for both the 3110 and 3113 versions )

You may have downloaded the wrong version - sounds like you flashed the 3100 version - which has 3G capabilities
Try downloading and flashing the 3110 version ( is the one to use for both the 3110 and 3113 versions )

i haven't moved the zip from my sd card yet...p3110_PAC_JB_4.2.2-V23.0.0_20130705-131802.zip. but i flashed it again just to make sure and the app folder contains VoiceDialer.apk, and Phone.apk.

Interesting, sorry for the misleading reply. I am not on PAC Rom right now, have flashed back to stock for now I'll try and flash over the weekend, and see if I can help - unless of course, you have already removed it, and everything is okay
Thanks,

i don't see what the phone or voice dialer are for but i wanted to make sure if it was safe to remove them. i wouldn't care but the phone.apk is always on.

Code:
delete("/system/app/Apollo.apk");
delete("/system/app/Galaxy4.apk");
delete("/system/app/Calculator.apk");
delete("/system/app/Email2.apk");
delete("/system/app/Exchange2.apk");
delete("/system/app/MagicSmokeWallpapers.apk");
delete("/system/app/VideoEditor.apk");
delete("/system/app/Stk.apk");
delete("/system/app/VoiceDialer.apk");
delete("/system/app/NoiseField.apk");
delete("/system/app/BluetoothSCOApp.apk");
delete("/system/app/FmRxApp.apk");
delete("/system/app/GenieWidget.apk");
delete("/system/app/QuickSearchBox.apk");
delete("/system/app/Talkback.apk");
delete("/system/app/PhaseBeam.apk");
That's part of the script I use to remove useless (IMHO) apps from my CM installs after each update. It should be safe to remove Phone.
If I'm unsure I have recovery with Aroma FM so I can always extract missing app from ROM zip and place it where it was.

reply wasnt misleading in fact it made perfect sense.... wouldnt have been surprised if you had been right.and ty for help. i did remove the phone and voicedialer apks on my own thinking if anything went wrong i would just re flash it. so far i havent noticed any problems.
and as for the script....i have no idea how that works but still helps cause there are some apps listed there that i can remove
