[Q] Going from ICS back to GB - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Can anyone explain to me how to do this? I've checked back a few pages and haven't seen anything.. Getting kind of annoyed with the random freezes while I'm texting and such. I don't want to just flash a GB rom if that isn't how its done and brick my phone.

there's already a few threads on this

Problems with ringtones

I have a problem with assigned ringtones as they keep resetting to stock settings or removing themselves after every reboot, planned or not, or sporadically, and have to reassign them practically a couple of times a day and its becoming a pain. Im rooted & on stock rom. I had a nexus 1 prior and never had problems stock, with miui, or cm7. I just got my phone like 2 days ago and am really contemplating returning it as I have also had a lot of reboots, freezes, and severe lag. Yes, I have ringtones on internal sd, and also tried them from external sd and same thing happens. Can someone please help me?
I have searched and found no answer. And I'm sorry if I somehow missed it.

G2x Reboot issues

Ive tried numerous ROMs and kernals and stuff with my phone, yet none of them seem to solve the reboot issue on my g2x except the stock 2.3.3 update a while back... Is there some secret im missing? why would the 2.3.3 update fix it while nothing else works well?
If all else fails i might have to just replace the phone... im tired of stock!

I think that might just affect only certain phones. I've noticed that it affects some and never happens to others. i jsut got my G2x and have yet experienced on reboot. And I've tried Weapon, Cm7 and EG.

i hope this isnt the case. not sure how t mobile is on replacing a phone if i claim its faulty- and i would need to unroot and change back to stock recovery and stuff =\ which i guess isnt THAT hard..
Yes but if you have insurance on your sim, card then just say you having difficulty with they should give you another one if not then use the one root method to unroot back.

Yeah, I have nothing but problems with these ROMs on my G2X. Going back to stock GB today. I was late to work a couple of times because my phone rebooted itself when my alarm was supposed to go off with Weapon, and now Eagles blood I woke up to my phone being completely off, where I couldn't even turn it on without removing the battery first (cuz that makes sense). I couldn't use A2DP on CM 7 either. As far as I'm concerned all custom ROMs are STUPID.

Try
Agreed 100% somephones should need custom ROMs but phones like these shouldn't be cause its already as strong as it can be lin pack status is awesome and quadrant standard so their no point to root them cause its really fast and good already

So the only option is to get a replacement from Tmobile? Tried rooting my wifes phone and got the same thing. Using CM7 or MIUI, random reboots, dropped calls, and SOD galore. If this is the only fix I guess I'll be calling Tmobile again...
Ive never had the reboot issue to the extreme like some have. It has happened for me a few times with stock gb, did 2 wipes in a row and then it stopped. Not a guaranteed fix, but it worked for me.
once rooted, I removed almost all the bloat that I didnt use (from xboarders stock rooted rom) and never had an issue.
I did notice a while back with the nightlys that when I put my put my screen to sleep while in the sms app, id have to pull the battery. Issue resolved for me with the currenty nightlys.

Are you getting these issues right away or after you install apps? It is usually an errant app causing reboots and SOD and not the rom. Add apps one by one and wait a bit before adding the next one. If you add one and you start getting problems you can be pretty sure that is a problem app and uninstall it. There are many bad apps on the Market that can cause loads of problems. Google doesn't do any testing on them so it is definitely buyer beware, even if the app is free.

but the fact that they dont cause reboots on the stock 2.3.3 rom makes me think it cant be soloely the apps
g2x random reboot fix
I think I have finally found a fix to the SOD and random reboots on the g2x. Obviously the SOD is solved by going to setting>development>stay awake.
I had the same problems with every rom I tried try tsugi no reboots yet after a week I can even use the kernels on his page

[Q] Force Close Bombardment. Easier way to fix it?

The skyrocket is a fantastic phone I'd have to say, except for this: Probably once a week (been happening more often recently), my phone would randomly turn off (or sometimes I would just reboot it) and after it starts up and all, I get the stupid force closes that DON'T GO AWAY! Now I've figured out how to fix this, Just reflash the ROM, but that takes awhile and im sick and tired of losing all my stuff that backing up doesn't back up. Is there any easier fix to this or just keep reflashing every time that happens? I'm on 2.3.5, was running Alien 3 (now ICS, which I've had no problems with [so far...]), aaaand I believe that's it. Thanks.

[Q] Xoom everytime it restarts keeps going to the setup wizard, anyone know why?

My brothers Xoom which is the original and new out of the box every time he restarts it prompts him to do the setup wizard, anyone know why?
It seems like it doesnt save his settings regardless of having the settings all correct. Im not a xoom man as have the notion ink, vega and ipad so if anyone does know please let me know what we can try.
Its 32gb and not rooted and brand new out of the box.
Thanks!
Maybe the best, since it's brand-new and not modded (it IS not modded, right?) is to bring it to Motorola for repair? Or use the warranty to replace it? Cause there may be a solution for it now, but who knows if it will cause any more problems in the future?
EDIT: Just noticed I answered everything with a question. I mean: with a question?
Yes its not modded in anyway as I think he got it about 6 months ago and has never really used it. It has honeycomb as sold and even requests an update but even that after downloading and rebooting does nothing as it goes into the setup wizard again and then requests you to download the update again which seems to suggest its not doing anything. The unit is 32 gb internal and shows approx 29 gb still available. If it was mine I would be mods it was mine I would of nodded that ages ago but very strange it keeps doing this.
Just want to know if anyone has experienced this with a xoom
at all?
Just do a master reset and wipe the Xoom.

Yeah I did a factory data reset and its doing exactly the same. Every time you reboot after installing apps or the update its asking to apply it kicks into the setup wizard. Baffled now! !!

multiple question thread plz assist

Im running moar with a stock kernel. Anyone with xp on the roms know if this is the best one.
im have lg smart tv finally got my screen mirroring to work by flashing the stock kernel, but it stutters or skips every 5 Seconds. Barely usable. Anything im missing and can do to fix this? Its miracast thats what it says when im connecting.
I have googled multiple ways and wordings and got no wherr. Any help much appreciated.
Also I have changed mods kernels everything even went back to stock and my phone will not recieve incoming calls. I can text call out do everything but my phone goes to my voicemail. I pay 150 a month. They said go to sprint store but since im rooted and modded they wont touch my phone.
When all else fails, Odin back to stock and see if the problem is fixed, then reroot. If the problem is still there you can take it to the store.
