[Q] Help : My Phone isn't detecting in Odin - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

Not being detected in Odin3 1.3, 1.83, 1.85, Drivers are installed properly, Tried in two systems and all USB ports, I had flashed UC V8, Was in MIUI and was updating when new updates were releasing through CW mode, Even had tried cm7 V2, now the USB mass storage isn't working, its just charging, and when i go to download mode and connect to system with Odin on, phone isn't detecting, USB Debugging is checked, Firewall and anti virus is off.
Working : CW mode, can flash through that.
Can not bear battery drain anymore in MIUI, so going back to Stock/Titanium.
My phone is Samsung Galaxy Sl I9003

Can you tell us what did u do before this happened?

First i was in stock KPN, then i flashed UC V8 and then through CW mode i flashed zip file of MIUI 9, then when update came, i had inatalled zip MIUI 10 through cw mode, then since there was heavy battery drain, i flashed cm 7.2, but since i used to like UI of MIUI and no change in battery drain, i flashed MIUI next version.. between this, i forgot till when i could do mass storage, but suddenly few days back it was just battery charging when i connect to sys, then i thought it will be fine if i go back to stock( also battery is better in that)/ thought to install titanium rom DDKP3, but now to do that, odin is not detecting device..
driver is installed properly, tried uninstalling and installing, tried in diff systems, diff cables, all the USB ports, but its just getting charged, USB Debugging is checked..
Help please..
recovery and downloading mode working.. i can also flash from zip files without any problem..

Re install...
RE

check ur usb cable....try ur friends..
nd finally if all is good...nd still nt working..
format ur windows..
Hope this helped

He tried on two systems, I guess its not Windows. When you connect your running device (not download mode) do you hear that typical device connected sound?
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA

YEAH...
Im in w7..
I also hear while in download mode.......also..dat tring
I guess it would be driver(kies)problem.....

Sure this would also work in download mode, but if she does, I wanted to ask whether she is able to communicate with the phone over adb or not...
If yes -> Some strange problem. Try to reinstall the drivers, but i think she has a low chance that this will work.
If no -> Probably the drivers are damaged?!? The system recognizes a usb device. Try a reinstall...
If she doesn't even hear a sound from her computer its something with the phone that probably only gets charged due to voltage on the usb port...

Even i face this problem in MIUI. USB storage works occasionally for me. When it worked i had transferred CM7 rom.
USB works in CM7 but not in MIUI for me. So it isnt any driver problem on the pc.

[Q] 2.3.4 update failure leads to whole crash..

Ok, so Was using my nexus s today and I kept getting the notification to perform a system update to the newest version of gingerbread (2.3.4). Prior to pressing update my phone was at 2.3.1 default with 2.5.### ClockworkRecovery and it was rooted. Everything worked on it perfect. So I proceeded to download and install the update, and CWR fails to install the update and I would have to take out the battery to restart the phone. I had been doing this multiple times and I wanted to get it updated. So I go into CWR and try installing it manually:
I look around and try to find the file and I couldn't, I reset user data to see if it would fix it and it didn't, then I go back and start formatting the following folders, /system, /cache, /data and one other but I did not format /boot, so Then (noob me) I restart to phone and of course the rom is gone. I get back to recovery and try to restore from update.zip but the console said the file could not be found, I look up my model and look for a full verison rom and the mount my usb storage and place the rom .zip on the storage and try to install from .zip on sd but it did not work so I end up grabbing this and installing it and now I'm stuck, when I do adb shell it doesn't pick up the phone any more, it can fast boot on the phone but it can't go into recovery and I have no idea what I should do to try to fix this problem.
NOTE: before I ened up installing and replacing the recovery, my /system folder would not mount due to "invalid arguments"
Model is i9020T
I don't have firmware version access
and if there is any other information I can provide please let me know
Update:
I got the device to be recognized by fastboot but not by "adb shell", when I type adb shell no device is found, so I guess my question now is do I need to just flash a new recovery and then try to flash a new rom?
Solution:
1. fastboot your phone, (volume up+lock/power button)
2. place the recovery image you want to install in the "Android SDK"/tools/ folder
3. in your cmd/terminal, while in "Android SDK"/tools/ execute:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery "NAME-OF-RECOVERY.img"
4. once that is installed and it should work, then restart your recovery mode
5.clear all your data/factory reset, including davlik cache
6.mount your sd to your computer so you can place the Rom you want on your phone's sd
7. In recovery choose zip from sdcard to install.
8. It should install, if it gives you problems try another rom, I had problems with rAv 1.2.2, keep restarting every minute. I used "NS-2.3.4-GRJ22-Stock-Deodexed-signed.zip" and it worked.
9. Restart the phone and be patient the phone will start up and you should be set.
Hope this helps someone!

PC does not see TF101 B40

HI,
2 of my PC (Windows 7 64) does not see my transformer in USB Debug mode. I installed the 64 bit Dell driver on each PC. Could someone provide me with some options to try.
Is there a way to completely reset the Transformer to stock without USB or being able to load a kernel from SD card?
2 ways to reset -
If you can boot then go into settings --> backup and reset --> factory data reset.
If you can't, hold volume-down then press power, and wait till wipe data appears, use vol keys to select it.
and search for the Universal Naked Drivers, those may help.
Thanks. That seemed to wipe the user settings and data, but not the recovery app "CWM-based Recovery v5.5.04 roach-tf101-r2". As a result the following happened after I reset.
System reboots
System comes up clean and runs setup (wifi, gmail account, etc).
System downloads firmware update.
System reboots to install update
Android appears and runs for a few seconds
Mesages appear: CWM-based Recovery v5.5.04 roach-tf101-r2
Finding update package, opening update package, Verifying update package
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted
At this point the TF still will not install zip from sd card since as you told me before I need a different recover and is not found by the PC with a naked driver.
However, the unit is functional.
Any other options to root and get a new recovery installed and finally a new ROM.
Note: the PC does see the TF if I am in the recovery. However, as soon as boot the TF and enable USB debug the TF us not seen.
To go back to totally stock including stock recovery, download and flash an official ROM from Asus website.

I have no problem doing that, but how do I do it if I cannot connect the TF to PC via USB or load a zip file via recovery? Both of these do not work!
Did you update cwm via ROM manager? That's the issue there, you can run Roach2010's fix to fix that.
If terminal emulator app works you can flash a downloaded and extracted
(through es file explorer) recoveryblob with
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recoveryblob of=dev/block/mmcblk0p4
reboot
Then you have working recovery and can either flash ROM or Stock.
Thanks for all the replies.
I finally got it working. It took me forever to understand that having a recovery that could only read from the internal memory was not a big deal. I created a folder on the internal sd and dropped in the zip for the external version of CWM . I rebooted and loaded the new restore and from then on I could load ROMs from my external uSD card. I am now happily running the latest version of Revolver.

Help ! Black screen after toshiba logo :crying:

I wanted to update a Folio 100 that had a stock rom installed, a very old Android version (I think 2.1 or something).
I could not get the usb drivers installed properly in order to do the ADB commands in terminal like most tutorials say. Instead, I managed to install Clockwork loader by SD card.
Then with Clockwork I loaded different .zip files, e.g. cm-10-20121117-UNOFFICIAL-betelgeuse.zip, CM 10 (4.1.2) A5 [AhWz][RIP].zip.
I am not sure what to swipe before or after applying the zips from card. But after I loaded these zips I get a black screen at bootup, right after toshiba logo, I left it like that for over 5 minutes, it doesn't start.
Now if I return to boot recovery menu and I try to do a factory reset I get some errors about mounting, "cannot mount /cache/recovery/log (see attached image).
How can I boot again or return to stock ?
I cannot seem to get the USB drivers to load in windows btw (it never finds a proper device to be installed, just storage device), so if it just works to put a rom on card it would be nice.
Hello,
with CWM 3.0.0.5 you cannot install Cm 10. You have to use the appropriate CWM
try with this installation guide.

Bye
Instaled Folio 100 usb drivers and booted in download mode
I managed to fix it and install a newer version, it is a huge performance and look improvement from the stock rom of Folio 100.
Just in case others have same problems... my probme(s) were that:
- I could not install the USB drivers for the folio 100.
"debug mode" was enabled but whenever I connected the device it just appeared as a flash storage and in device manager it said that it is already up to date. I used a tool called "usbdeview" to uninstall the device (seen as storage device); then on re-connecting usb cable, windows was looking for Nvidia Tegra drivers, so now I was able to provide proper drivers and it added an "android" device in windows device manager.
- then I realized I was doing some mistakes, I didn't knew that booting in download mode is different than booting in recovery mode, so it has two ways to start it, pressing power+vol_up quick (what I was doing), and more importantly clicking power once then vol_up 3 times, this enabled me to boot in download mode and now the commands in windows command prompt worked (fastboot erase recovery, etc).
From here everything worked as expected (with update steps from these threads), loaded some images, erased partitions, etc.
So it was USB drivers and booting in download mode that confused me.

Unable to root fake android phone with fake software at all

I have a fake android phone with fake android software(all drivers installed on windows 7,debugging enabled, kies shows no phone connected)
In the phone's software update, without clicking anything it says up to date, functions like a picture so there is no option to choose.
The device manager on my PC says it's an Alcatel
About phone says Samsung s4 i9500 4.2.2
but it looks like a bad combination of 2.3.6 and 4.0.4
It malfunctions constantly ( menu doesn't open, only apps pop-up , pre installed apps like GS Cali, Line, Whatsapp etc. , changing pages, can't access camera, false apps with chinese letters etc. , the whole settings menu is messed up ) because the OS is badly programed!
What I can see from the hardware,it has two sim slots ( I've searched every dual sim samsung and alcatel and there is no prone that looks like this one).
Can't access download mode with buttons(tried every combination, only accesses factory mode and android system recovery mode <3e> which only has
-reboot system now
-apply update from sdcard
-wipe data/fac settings
-wipe cache prt
-backup user data
-restore user data
AND NO -ADVANCED which means no sideload option
so i can't access sideload ) or adb (reboot download)-only reboots phone
no bootloader. So ODIN is of the table!
NO ROOT so apps like terminal simulator( $su # reboot download) and clockworkmod which require root don't mean squat!
When i apply update from sdcard (tried stock 2.3.6 , 4.0.4 , 4.1.2 ), it says signature verification failed ( can't disable it with clockworkmod obviously ).
I've tried every combination, i probably forgot to write some of them!

if it's MTK-based, any luck with droid tools? I remember connecting a device to usb with the battery detached works wonders.
Try Vroot. It works with many Chinese phones too. It can root almost any phone.
http://androidxda.com/download-vroot
Once you're done rooting you can use the kinduser app to remove the pre-installed app.

MTK led me to SuperUser access and sp flash tool (which i tried, but when i connect the phone without the battery it keeps connecting and disconnecting so i couldn't flash at all).
I managed to flash a version of rom that has the advanced option but doesn't have the sideload option. And when i try to apply update.zip from sdcard it says Can't mound /sdcard/update.zip Installation aborted. (AGAIN)
I typed su(granted su access) reboot download in terminal simulator and now it won't even turn on ,the android just appears ( left it there the whole night). Anyway..thanks for the suggestion
Any other?
After terminal emulator the phone won't even turn on. Wen't into recovery,Vroot did the job,but i still can't turn on the phone.
