unlocked via htcdev cwm issues - HTC Sensation

my phone is unlocked via htcdev.com and then has it been rooted but the prob was that i have installed the ota ics which wasnt possible so my phones bootprocess stops at the htc screen. i have made a backup from before everything but i cant restore it because i cant use adb, and flashing it with the recovery function isnt possible beacause it is unlocked so /recovery is still s-on. how do i get my /recovery s-off after all this that i can flash a gb rom to get my phone booting again..

i think its better to flash your stock rom then run revolutionary tool to soff
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA

yes it would sure be better to do this but how the hell do i do this? my phone doesnt boot, adb commands aren´t working and flashing a rom via recovery is impossible because recovery is still s-on... so how do i do this? i am trying this for 2 weeks now but i dont get this damn problem fixed.. my phone stops booting at the htc screen -.-

Help with custom rom Sense

Hello everybody,
I have a little problem/bug with my HTC. I have flashed the rom Saga3D v3.0 that includes Sense 3.0.
My phone wasn't working anymore after trying to flash two times Runnydroid and CyanogenMod, it was blocking on HTC bootscreen (and that for more than 20min)
As a temporary solution i found Saga3D and my phone is working again but the rom normally includes Sense 3.0. In the software informations of my HTC there is written Sense 3.0 but in case I have the interface of Sense 3.5 !
I had the new update before flashing (and new HBOOT idd) and I dont know why I get this problem. I did a full wipe (Wipe data/cache with Revolutionary CWM) and I dont understand why I get again Sense 3.5
Sorry for my bad English
Thanks in advance
download the 4ext recovery control app from market and flash that recovery over cwm! Then reboot into recovery, format ALL partitions then flash a sense 3 rom again eg - Shadow Hawk V2.1 [see mmy sig]
Hope this helps!
Tried to follow your instructions, flashed Recovery.img of 4ext but now it is blocking on HTC boot screen.. Reflashed recovery of Revolutionary CMW and it is working again.. wtf
Is it not linked of my hboot that is in 2.00.0002 ? Is it not more raisonable to wait s-off with new update off revolutionary ?
Every time my phone is blocking on HTC boot screen I must pull out the battery and I'm scared that my phone is bricking (already did 5-6 times because cmd isn't finding phone on boot screen..)
4ext but now it is blocking on HTC boot screen?
u didn't came into the recovery?

I flashed the recovery img of 4ext but when i tried to go into the recovery(with the app or with volume down+power) with 4ext my phone was blocking on HTC boot screen.
I pulled out the battery, boot in normal mode and flashed again the recovery img of Revolutionary CMW. Recovery is working with this CMW.

Yes my HBOOT is s-on 2.00.0002 but unlocked with HTCdev. (People said me that flashing a custom rom was possible with s-on, if bootloader was unlocked)
If you have unlocked using HTCDEV see this thread for a resolution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19071114#post19071114
It is possible to flash S-ON but you need to manually flash the boot image for the custom rom that you intend to use after ROm flash.

Rooting HTC sensation not working

I was trying to root my htc sensation a unlocked the bootloader but forgot to s-off now it just gets stuck on the white screen with the green htc logo. What do I do now?
Well let's start here what Rom did you flash and if its a ics Rom it won't boot because you didn't upgrade your firmware
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
You did not upgrade the radio (or firmware as people here call it)
You did not wipe before flashing a ROM.
Wrong flash.
I flashed PkMn 5.1 rom. So how do I fix my phone now? or is it gone for good.
Do extra step 1 from this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25587345
using the boot.img from your ROM.
If you still experience the problem, then you should format all partitions except SD Card from recovery & flash your ROM.
I almost had it I got the phone to boot and all then tried to get s-off using Juopunutbear and it got stuck on the green juopunutbear logo so I ran an RUU of a stock rom and now I am back to where I started, but I dont have recovery anymore so I dont know how to flash the stock boot.img
Now im back to the green juopunutbear logo. I dont think I have a rom anymore though cause I ran the stock RUU and it gave me an error at the black htc screen
ok roms working now how do but juopunutbear cannot find seat

Hi,
Did you make a nandroid backup before you started.
If so,restore it .
If not,why not?
Look HERE
Follow the thread to get 4EXT recovery on your phone ,and using "Smartflash" to get custom ROMS onto your phone.
Use fastboot usb and try flashing boot.img over adb. It worked for me
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
i have a similar problem. cm10 will install it all goose good until you get to the setup part then it reboots. everytime.almost like a bootloop. i have s-off. unlocked bootloader, supercid. but my hboot is 1.17.0008. i went thru revolutionary do i need to update my hboot and do the hole root over useing jb? the onlything i can think of.........any ideas???
Yes, firmware 1.17 will ALWAYS cause reboots on android 4.x. Update your firmware (probably to 3.33)
Look here for details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21711154
Follow all instructions to update firmware. You basically put the file on your SD card and boot to bootloader. The bootloader should update the firmware from there.

Had this problem too until I used 4ext with the smart flash option. no real need to s-off now.

[Q] HTC Sensation stuck at HTC screen

Hi,
I've tried to flash a new rom to my HTC Sensation and have got it spectacularly wrong. I used Hasoon2000's All-In-One tool to unlock my bootloader and root. I then did a wipe clean and installed Inspiration.
The phone had a Vodafone boot screen if that helps - I believe it is the z710e. The install of the rom seemed to go okay but I've rebooted and it's not getting stuch on the HTC quietly brilliant screen.
Any help would be amazing!
Thanks.
EDIT: My HBOOT is 1.27, I'm not sure if I need higher? My firmware I believe is 3.32- when I try to put higher on by putting PG59IMG.zip on my root, my phone parses it but doesn't do anything afterwards. Could this be my problem?

you are still on S-ON so you can't upgrade firmware in that way
do you have 4ext recovery installed?
if not then use 4ext to install the rom
and before installing the rom
format all partitions except sdcard from 4ext
enable smartflash from it
flash the rom
done

Couldn't get 4ext to work but found one that does eventually. Downloaded Android Revolution as I know this works with my phone and now can boot! Having trouble getting a signal now though. Any more suggestions?
Thanks for the reply, really helped me out!

[SOLVED] [Help me revive my sensation[stuck on boot screen while trying s_off]

Ok first things first.. this all is what I did and what's my present situation
1. Unlocked the boooader as per the htc dev site instructions.
2. Tried to soff using jbear method. Every thing went fine untill the jbear utility gave command to restart the device.
After restart, jbear utility failed to recognise the device. It said device not detected, please install device drivers.
3. From that moment onwards, the device is stuck at the white htc bootscreen.
4. I also followed another guide to install custom recovery and custom rom without s off.
I was able to flash a custom recovery, and even the rom. But the device won't move ahead of the bootscreen.
5. Then tried to return to stock using ruu file. But my region ruu is still not available so that method didnt work(3.33.xx.xx asia india).
Have also tried a few more methods but none seem to work.
Help guys.
Phone info:
s-on

Try to make superCID and install RUU or search for 3.32 RUU
Or try flashing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767&highlight=universal firmware from here 3.33 (there is 058 CID)

he has to be on S-OFF to flash a firmware from bootloader and i don't think he achieved S-OFF
what he must to do is enable smartflash from 4ext(if you don't have that recovery use this one)
then flash the rom

Yeah exactly.. device is still s–on. And thats what is causing all the troubles i guess. Can't flash europe or asia ruu(cid error).
And i have tried enabling smartflash. Flashed the android revolution rom. Installed fine. But still stuck on bootscreen.
And as I am not s–off, so i dont think 3.32 ruu would work. Correct me if i'm wrong.
Try flashing boot.IMG manually.
I don't exactly remember the fast boot command but since fast boot commands are working then you can try flashing the boot image manually.

Not gonna try and bombard you with information I'm not sure why your phone won't boot but I am sure completely installing a new rom (everything) should fix you up so here is what I'll try and lead you to go..
1 use 4ext recovery and enable smart flash and flash a fresh rom.
So are u on 4ext recovery don't worry if your not that HTC unlocked bootloader is just as good as s-off if your bricked and know how to use it

Get the boot image from the custom ROM. Try to extract it with 7-zip or another similar program

also before flashing any rom
format all partitions except sdcard from 4ext
then enable smartflash and flash the rom
Still no luck
Ok.. i decided to flash a custom rom (ANDROID REVOLUTION)
1. Flashed 4ext recovery
2. Wiped all partitions except sd card.
3. Enabled smartflash.
4. Flashed rom.
5. Rebooted and still stuck at the htc logo screen( m really sick of this logo now).
Did I miss something?
You know those official updates that cone in a format P8500IMG.zip can you try to find that for your phone unfortunately this will probably result in loss of your root

Cheers guys.. Its back to life again
DON'T HAVE WORDS TO THANK YOU ALL.
Here's what I did..
From my experience.. i believe even after enabling smartflash, the boot image wasn't being flashed.
So what I did is extracted the boot. img from custom rom and flashed it via fastboot.
And voila.. it worked!!
Seems so simple now.. but it took me one week. Wouldn't have been possible without you guys.
Thanks a ton.
Cheers.
