As mentioned, the stock player is not able to play the wma files that were able to be played before. So I replace the player with poweramp, it plays the wma files but have weird lags (beep sound) from time to time, very annoying. Anyways I can use the stock player to play wma? Thanks!
I would suggest trying a different kernel

maybe you can modify a music player app to work as a home screen
Ye probably could but was looking for something with all phone stuff removed and maybe just have wifi, market and music player.

I have microSD card with audio and video files. I use BS player to play video but I need an audio player that allows me to browse and play audio files from the microSD card directly. I can use BS to play the audio files too but it doesn't play in the background. I have to be in the player all the time.
Appreciate any input, thanks

Power Amp. Pay for the pro key. Has direct volume control and a 10 band eq. Very customizable.

Thanks for your response. Both Winamp and Google music didn't let me browse my microSD card. It's possible I'm doing something wrong. Winamp didn't even locate my device for wireless sync.

I would suggest VLC. It's in the Play Store if you're not in the US or Canada. Otherwise, you'll need to find the nightlies at videolan.org.
MX Player.

Hi the I have all my music in .wma format will not play on my sidekick 4g please help
Use a different player? Try doubletwist rocket player or something like that it should work.
If not you have to get mp3 files (mp3 is actually the best for music as it saves more space then most do)

MP3 was developed in early 90s... Yes, it is still the most popular music format, but NOT best in any way. AAC+ is at least twice smaller at same quality, FLAC sounds much better, etc...
But anyway, there are many players for any audio format for any Android phone. Artofdying9's question is pretty strange.
I use mp3 sac an all that is too annoying to covert 3k songs

I think the videos should be stored in this location (so I've read)
/sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.videos/files/Movies/<random characters>/<video file>.wvm
You could find the video and when clicking it you should get the choice of which app to complete the action with.
I was wanting it rto show up in another app and not have to search for it.
