What is "prl" and "profile" in the settings? I'm new with sprint. Don't exactly know what those two options are for, and why they need to be updated. Thanks for any response I can get: p

Prl preferred roaming list, tells your phone about the way it connects to towers. Profile is for your data connection, used to sync your phone to your data access

Ok thanks, appreciate the info. How often should one update these? On a side note, you look like the dude from shinedown

No, you don't generally have to worry about profile and prl just when new towers arrive in your area. Shinedown huh lol glad I just cut all the hair off lol

Simply put, No. You can run edge, but that's it.
Please you the search next time...this has been covered before. Thank you!
Okay sorry about that I figured as much just wanted to see if there was a backdoor way. Thank you

It doesn't run on the same bands unfortunately. There isn't much you can do. You don't need to apologize. There are some on here who would be much angrier then I about not using the search.
People are more forgiving in General and Q&A than in Dev.
Hello all, really simple question.
(BEEN SEARCHING INFUSE GPS THREADS FOR HOURS WITH NO GOOD CLARIFICATION)
Do I need to have "Use Wireless Networks" checked in order to use GPS feature? Or is that only for usage with google maps?
No, you just need packet data on. I found out after much frustration.

Did you possibly go over your data plan limit?
Or running with a Sim from service that cant use the 4g service native to the phone?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
I was told never to try to go on 4g. Um ... I don't think its possible for me to even download anything over at the speeds that I get right now. It goes off and on. It just sets really annoying. I didn't do the flashing or anything. I even try to manually to stay on "GSM/cdma auto prl " and choosing the radioband to "USA "

Don't know much about cdma. when I was researching flashing a broken epic to see if its worth fixing the screen, I notice you need a boost 3g phone to do it. Could be that it wasn't. Could be your plan, area. Have you done a speed test?
Sent from mI y SGH-T959V using Tapatalk
Where can I do a speed test? Well the last one I had was a flip phone Motorola from boost. For a couple times I thought that could be

Does 4g not work?
I'm showing 3g right now and normally get 4g in the area i'm in (i'm at work not home).
NVM it just showed the H symbol over 3g. I know it's Fake 4g, but normally here never drop to 3g on GB, seems to be more stable at 3 and rarely get H.

The way ics asop roms handle 3g over 4g is unless you NEED 4g it will default to 3g. Update a app or two and see what happens.

Ahh very cool. NOw i've read about the wifi signal issue which isn't an issue except for wifi calling. Guess it doesn't matter since it crashes but in the future if that takes off and works.
Flashed it last night. Everything is great except the wifi calling. Can't make and receive calls.

Check the development thread, known issue.

Love this. Only issue I have been having is wifi is slow even tried various modems from FB but each seems to have a downfall, lb6 made wifi fastest out of them all but then my service bars bounce up and down and lose signal inside buildings. Still figuring all this stuff out since this is my first flash. Thanks!
This rom doesn't have GPS issues does it?

Hey beast are you gonna update this rom. With the aaries kernel, and if yes would it still be able to use wifi calling?

Sweet!!!!!!! I mean I'd be using BeanStalk but this one has wifi calling, And hey beast if you ever need testers just let me know.
As well I love this Rom and is the only ics rom that has wifi calling

Sorry if this has been answered or I missed a thread...is the difference between this version and 20130227 is that wi-fi calling works on this ROM?
No. And wifi-calling still doesn't work on ICS... closest it got was accepting text messages, but the wifi app still crashed on calls.
Does this ROM support bln?

It's a kernel thing. Proton kernel doesn't do bln but hefe will. The downside I think is that the backlights will stay on while the screen is on. Although I think some people have both working with some combination of rom and kernel. Ultragen I think.
Ok thanks for the reply
