Whats with all the urgency? Its not like porting is an overnight process. Porting typically takes days weeks and sometimes months.
It is not that easy. I believe Gingerbread (2.3) requires a new kernel. That we do not have, nor do we even have kernel sources for 2.2 yet. It might be possible to port PART of it, but there wouldn't be 4g, amongst other things. Also, this would likely be the GSM version, which leaves us without a proper modem.
So all in all.... Probably not going to happen.
I saw this posted earlier on androidcentral I believe and they were talking about a password on the .zip I think maybe it was the filename but google it for yourself lol

At least we can test the os. Radio and 4g can be solved in time. We just want to test this rom. Also, I know how long it takes to port. Lol

Apparently you really don't. CM6 is still ages from being ready for the Epic for example.
Not to mention we don't even know how to full extract or even flash these files properly.
Stop being so impatient about this. It will be no easy path, period. In all honesty, we may never get it working.
There might even be problems further down. We might not have a touchscreen driver, we WON'T have keyboard, hell the screen might not even turn on.
You seem to think that this is some easy task that will be accomplished, and it is not.
Simply put; Don't get your hopes up.

I mean all you have to do is just take some honeycombs (Perferably without bees) and squish your thunderbolt in the middle. Easy as that.
Seriously though I am running Froyo for now may switch to CM if they can ever fix the 4g issue but I bought my phone for the speeds and to be honest Froyo isn't that bad. Especially with the extended battery. 75% after 8 hours =P.

Yes, this is COMPLETELY credited to mkasick and theimpaler747, as we all know he hasn't been around, so I decided to do this. I am setting the keytimer to 5 different speeds for everyone to try out. It seems that people have different success with different times. The higher the number, the longer the keytimer waits. So try them all out and see which one works best for you!!
As always, here is the original keytimer thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1025533
Here is the ORIGINAL keyboard patch from mkasick... None of our settings would be possible with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1039991
Remember, this is EC05 Android 2.2 ONLY. And you must have a compatible kernel. Just flash it through clockwork!
Let me know which timer works best for you!

This seems a bit off-topic from the OP, but thank you for the kind words (however exaggerated they may be). I really didn't do much - it's just stock with a few tweaks, and a great theme (IMHO) by stranula.
Even though i have not tried your rom yet i will try it soon and get back to you on what i think. More devs are always welcome in the charge community and i hear your rom is the rom of choice for alot of people

Humble is not a battery sipping ROM, it's been said time and time again that roms make no difference in battery life. Just flash tweak stock and get rid of that garbage.

Hi. I'm xboxfanj, a developer from over at the epic forums at xda and I think I know how the charge and the stratosphere can fix ril (fix data, call, text) on CM ROMs. Your device has the same cdma chipset as the Galaxy Nexus, which means that we should be able to hack the kernel and ramdisk to support their radios and ril files in system. I did something similar (along with bbelos) on the Epic with the Nexus S 4G radios. I don't have a stratosphere or a charge, so I would need testers and helpful developers. Assuming the galaxy nexus and stratosphere kernel sources are similar to the epic's and Nexus S 4G's, the modem control files will be in drivers/misc/samsung_modemctl in the kernel sources. Then we will have to add the correct lines to kconfigs, makefiles, and defconfigs to enable it to build. Then, we will need to add some permissions in the ueventd files to let the modem files have the correct permissions. And we will have to get rid of some things in init.device.rc. then all we'll need to do is change build.prop to use the correct ril, and throw the files in.

One more thing, apparently the Galaxy Nexus uses a slightly different LTE chip (you guys use the CMC220, they use the 221), so I'm not sure if LTE will work or not once we get this going. And the kernel drivers for radio/modem are in drivers/misc/modem_if in the Galaxy Nexus. The Charge ones are in drivers/misc/samsung_modemctl, so I guess those won't be needed, and we'll have to change all the config files to not use modemctl and use modem_if instead.
You NEED to get a hold of JT1134. He has ported CM9 and CM10 to us, but the only thing he could get to work on the radio side was calls and sms. No data (not even mms). Those builds can be found at RootzWiki (or his github if you know it).
I'd help, but I was a LAZY compsci II student.

which, ICS or JB (or both)?
in any event, welcome to the community, hope you are able to stay around for awhile. we always enjoy having more experienced folks around (especially developers).
i think right now, most charge owners would be happy with a custom FP5 kernel. currently, IMNUTS is working on this (despite him no longer having the Charge), so you might want to get in touch with him on any additional insight.

Just the ril idea. Apparently despite having the same chip, it is wired differently. On the charge and stratosphere, it is connected by dpram, but on nexus it is connected by usb.

I will try. Unfortunately, I don't know java or smali code, which are what the framework files are written in. I guess I will just have to see how the other implementations work and try to mirror those if you will.
