ICS Update Available in Taiwan

Hey guys,
these days I have been checking the update frequently hoping for its arrival soon and this afternoon the update has arrived.
I have a Sensation XE stock rom (Asia_TW) unbranded. I bought the phone in Taiwan and received the update in Hong Kong.
I am pretty sure the Asia update has started. Good luck guys!
My findings regarding ICS/Sense3.6 :
1. System becomes smoother. (Rotation/animation/System overall response)
2. Wi-Fi works perfectly, with/without SIM card.
3. Total available RAM is now 583MB (10 Mins after boot, 194MB free)
4. Boot Up Time: 2min 30sec (+- 5sec)
5. Multi-touch Switch problem still exist

Hi, sorry I'm kind of a noob here. I do not know the exact procedures for checking CID. I've uploaded some software info found in the system settings. Please tell me how to check CID thx!

Try the CID checking app on the market. CID is what ota releases are mainly based on. There is another thread with a CID list.

Quite clearly a new version as the build is 3.32.709.108 so I'm guessing the OP is 100% stock

Congratulations!!but don't know when will start in Malaysia....malaysia alway is slowest.my last experience on my desire s,after Taiwan start roll out the ota,Malaysia still need to wait few months.

Also radio is slightly updated .. Hope that patch to 3.32.401.5 EU version will arrive soon ..

Full filename is enough. It cold be downloaded from OTA server directly when we know filename.. But I'm afraid for EU phones it is not usable due to different base version and OTA file is just patch! It could be used be developers to see what has changed there and what to cook into their roms..

Finally some progression wonder if HTC also fixed the multitouch bug in this release like devs has done it already.

I am in Taiwan and I haven't gotten the update yet. OP is wrong.
I bought the phone in Taiwan and my carrier is Far East.

It could very much be due to the CID thing. They release the update based on the CID (and IMEI as well? not certain about this.) and as I read from other posts I think they release it to 30,000 devices at a time so the server won't break down. Wait for some time I'm quite sure it will come to your device soon.

Not sure because AFAIK it is Kernel bug and Taiwan has exactly the same kernel build ..

The multitouch problem still exists. Quick tab on the screen switch the first and second tab.

Stil no Update in Hong Kong

I just checked my CID and I also have HTC_621. I still haven't gotten the update.
So maybe it's for HongKong only. Not in Taipei yet.
I'm gonna ask another friend of mine over here with a Sensation if they got the ICS update. Will update after I ask.

As I know so far, the ICS OTA update in Taiwan only for Sensation "XE".
Sensation non-XE not update yet...

Well then again, they never specified end of march in which year. Someone did mention that they had the update though. Been furiously pressing the check now button but my software still is "up to date." Urgh.

When I asked HTC_India on FB ..they deleted my post from their wall...coz they are busy on One X... ...Hope we will have this end of this month.

Tired of using check update button. I don't understand why HTC always delays in OTA for India. Are they not looking at India as market to grow?.

You do know that even E/W Europe didnt update yet? And you want for India?

I saw someone in India say they got it too... When i asked for the details... They just stopped sending me updates... Strange... Worse than the delaued missing update os the behavior... Upsetting...

Just saw many threads with most European countries getting ICS update. Why is ICS still not available for India?

Is there any rule that India should get it after E/W Europe? Since Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan etc are getting it (i.e. SE Asia) logically India should have got it by now!

My sensation xe (India) has software nr. 1.77.720.103 , i don't think to many xe's have this build, so it is possible that this will get update later...

We'll get our updates man .. but as usual itll take the agonising equivalent of ages.

Blupoison dear what is your software no. Mine is 1.52.720.3 and hboot is 1.18.000 and some one told me that i am not having stock rom so willnot have ICS update my device says S-On. So am i not having original Rom and will i not get ICS Update.

1.52.720.3 is the latest stock rom for sensation in India. So dont worry my friend, u are stock and you will definitely get it.

I was just about to say that... It is original stock... In fact... You cant change it till u do s_off... So don't worry... We will get it... Question is... When... Asian update was out the last i heard... But i dont know when it will hit India... I have the same config by the way.... Just waiting now... Sensatio ICS update before 7th April
I spoke to Service Manager HTC Customer care, he told the update would available before 7th April....
keeping finger crossed and hitting the check update button like hell...more than 200 times a day

Hi,
I'm in the UK with a Sensation XE which I purchased from a company in Hong Kong. I run it with a T-mobile sim card.
When I check my software version it says I am 1.77.720.103 like a couple on this thread.
If i use CID Getter it shows my CID as being HTC__038 and that my ro.carrier is HTC-India. When I first got it I had to change the locale to be english GB so that it received news articles to do with the UK.
I'm a bit puzzled by how exactly the phones receive the updates OTA. They obviously check a server somewhere which checks something on the phone and makes a decision whether to let it update or not. Is there not some way that I can change my phone settings so that it believes it is a UK phone and receives the update at the same time as other people in the UK?
Is there a way that I could flash my phone with a European/UK ROM so that I don't have to mess about changing locale etc?
Many thanks and apologies if this has been asked before as I could not find it when I tried searching.

well , i looked at the CID now and found out that the CID is actually from The Netherlands thats why i recievied this update...
its HTC__E11
bought it off ebay from a uk seller but happy anyway :L
and the ro carrier is Dutch as well so i presume this phone was bought from Holland

And it's working Android 4 sensation

Answer to first question: If you mean through the update: No.
Answer to second question: Yes. 3.32.xxx.xx5 includes an update to HBoot 1.27.0000.
By the way: Currently, I run ARHD as well, with a manual flash of the stock 3.32.401.105 (Sensation XE, Europe Open) as the base.
One final piece of advice: If anyone intends or might intend to use custom firmwares or manually flash updates, like I did, use the Revolutionary tool on revolutionary.io before updating to ICS. Perhaps there are other ways, even with ICS to S-Off, but Revolutionary is probably the easiest.

I forgot to mention, by the way, that I also flashed a different 3.32.401.105 base with revolutionary unlocked HBoot 1.27.1100. Without it, ARHD doesn't boot. At least so I heard.

RIL HTC-RIL 4.0.0013HMQ
I might change RIL to HTC-RIL 4.0.0017HMQ to test if my reception improves. Outside it's perfect but in buildings i'm experiencing bad reception compared to GB.

Well I just got my sensation 4g and did sone researching.... I know its been out for awhile so I was wondering where do I start... Whats the most up to date way to root ny phone (assuming theres more than one way) and whats a good rom? (I like using sense lol).

1. S-off, unlock, recovery, root & SuperCID
[Guide] to Installing S-off, Unlocking, ClockWork, Root, SuperCID & S-on
2. Install the latest firmware, 3.32 is needed for the latest base.

You can root without doing supercid. Supercid is optional.
It allows you more flexibility though. Useful if you want to flash other areas/carriers rom. Personally I prefer to keep original cid.
Recently I couldn't receive ota update to ICS because I was supercid, then reverted to the original one and suddenly I received the Ota update notice.
It's up to you whether supercid or not and it's not a real concern because you can revert at anytime.

What is your current hboot version? Power off, pull battery, press & hold vol down and power to enter bootloader and read it off.
You have to check your hboot is supported by revolutionary- the tool to give you s-off.

Yes you will lose everything and bootloader will become 1.27 (which is unsupported by revolutionary) Unless you have S-OFF before the update that is.
As for SuperCID, Its optional but HIGHLY recommended, As said before, it allows you to flash any firmware from any region....
If you dont have it, You MUST make sure it matches your CID or it wont boot... It can also be tricky to find one for your region (depending where you are)
It only takes a second, And its permanent and reversible

When i switch from rom to rom... Do i superwipe then flash rom everytime??

You can do, but its not necessary, Have a look at the installation guide for the ROM your going to flash.... Usually if you are updating the same ROM wipe isnt needed..
If you are going to a different ROM altogether, A wipe is a MUST

I live in Turkey and almost I am checking for per hour but no update.
HTC is pushing us to use custom rom
My device is s-on, no root and my software info is in below :
Software version : 1.73.468.4 (Sensation XE)
Android 2.3.4 Sense 3.0
Build Number : 1.73.468.4 CL175854 release-keys

HTC sold alot of devices in Turkey but there is no support
They have terrible services here
They are pushing us toward Samsung
Samsung have much better service here I think.

we can not because of the f... warranty....

I know warranty means a lot, but you don't necessarily sacrifice it by rooting your phone.
The Sensation is an easy phone to root, and there are plenty of guides available to help you.
I also have a two year warranty, and should I ever want to use it, I will simply unroot, install stock backed up gingerbread RUU and S-ON.

Rooting does not woid your warranty since you can unroot and get back to offical ROM. Service won't understand it, hence they won't even give a ****!
