[Q] About One S - HTC One S

Hello all , I will like to know the htc one S do support cdma 2000 network ?
Thanks in advance

Seeing as how it takes a SIM I'd say it's not CDMA compatible, but take a look at Verizon as they have an EVO X or something coming out soon which is pretty similar!

Thanks for the reply

Not cdma compatible. Closing thread, if you need it reopened pm me.

[Q] Unlocked Sensation wasnt too Sensational

Im fairly new to the phone game but i know a little bit. I traded my inspire to a Sensation, unlocked it myself. Everything worked finr except my Data i couldnt use the internet in any way. I called 611 (atts customer serv) and they said the connection was rejected. Luckily i was able to convince the guy i got it from to trade me back and give me the extra money i gave him for the trade. Was i just being a dumbass not knowing what to do or is this an issue. On the phone i went into the carrier and APN and it all seemed fine... Just curious because i would still like that phone but of course want my data connection Thanks
Also someone told me that unlocking/flashing phones will drop them down 2 data speeds (4G-2G/EDGE) Is this true?

Stop listening to ignorant people.
As for the problem you encountered, I believe you got the wrong Sensation. You need the Z710a for AT&T.
lianw is correct. Many of us are happily using the z710a on at&t.
Same guy as Smolt here for some reason it wouldnt let me log back in and after an hour of screwing with it and password retievals..... Well here i am... How do you tell the difference between the 2 Sensations? Did you have to call611 and give them the imei # to use data?
Ive got a post under my newly given moniker, if you find the time check it out. Any help is greatly appreciated and always thanked
So you traded the Sensation back to your original phone, so you no longer have a Sensation, and you still want to know why you were having problems?
People don't waste your time trying to figure out his issue, he doesn't have the phone anymore to try and fix it.

I wanted to know if theres a way to fix it because if there is which according to these guys there is. Id like to get another... And why are we so worried about what other people are doing?

Because not only are people wasting their time on answering your question, but you are also cluttering the forum...who knows, you may never get a sensation again or have the issue if you get the correct sensation and this thread them becomes trash.
unless the sensation supports the at&t 4g or 3g bands, you're limited to edge. that's what happened to me when i was using the inspire on t-mobile.
I think only bell or Virgin(from Canada) Sensation have 850 frequency, it is working fine on Rogers with 3g or HSPA after unlock(which i think it should work on at&t as they are using the same band). I hope this could help u a bit. T-mobile sensation doesn't work on at&t because it doesn't support 850.
I'm using the bell sensation z710a and get ATT 3g speeds with no issues.

I not sure what frecuenquies Verizon works with, but there's no chance to change that even with rooting or flashing a new radio....

I figured as much since Verizon is CDMA and ATT is GSM but i wasnt sure if there might just be some sooper sekret way to do it that i wasnt aware of
The HTC Thunderbolt is the closest resembling phone Verizon has to the Inspire.

HTC One X on Rogers - Name Caller ID

Just spoke to Rogers technical support level 2 and they can't confirm if Rogers HTC X works with Name Display or not!
Can anyone with Rogers HTC One X confirm "Name display" is working or not?
Thanks
PS: Name Caller ID is exclusive to Rogers/Fido. Incoming calls show NAME even if you don't have that contact saved in your contact list.
My One X is at home charging. I'll let you know tomorrow. I'm interested knowing that too.

Can you please also confirm if the name sticks in call log? Since some phones only number will show if/when you go back to call log

I just tested it out. Name display works. The name will show up when they're calling you. The name will also be shown on the notification bar. Eg. "Smith, John called". The only negitive is that the name doesn't stick to the call log. So if you accidently remove the name from the notification bar you are S.O.L.

Flyiarnk, as far as I know, it's a custom Rogers feature. We don't know how to make it work yet on other phones.
We could do it by flashing a Rogers ROM on an International EVO 3D for example, but now that we have different CPUs I don't think it's doable.

Technically you can flash the ROM, but it'll brick your phone pretty good.
Also, I've done some digging. Check this out: http://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/forums/forumtopicpage/board-id/Android/thread-id/7991/page/1
It seems that Name Display is not currently compatible with LTE. I've tested this by toggling the different mobile network modes, and sure enough, I get the name display when my phone is set to GSM Only, but not when using HSPA or LTE. Bugger. Hopefully Rogers can fix this.
---------- Post added at 11:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:16 AM ----------
I've just spoken with Rogers support about it. Gave them my software/baseband versions and all that good stuff. The tech added the One X to the list of devices having this problem.
It would probably help put a fire under Rogers' ass if more people reported the issue in a live chat session here:
http://www.rogershelp.com/livesupport-v6/?queueID=58
If you're in the US, Privus Mobile does this as well. I haven't tested it on a One X yet, but it's a great service.
as a note of interest, I recently unlocked an HTC Raider that was on the Bell Mobility network and when I put my Rogers SIM in it I was pleasantly surprised that the caller name presentation was working properly even on a phone that was sold on the Bell network. It seems as though HTC have finally added CNAP to their Android phones.
Note: Rogers does not ever actually add the CNAP feature to phones, it either supports it or it does not, I have had this argument with Rogers for the past 2.5 years, the have no Idea how to add the support to the phones themselves.

Do you realize there is a huge difference between CDMA and GSM right. In the us they all use different 3g bands.
You should always research your device before you by it. Mainly if buying a device from another county

The best thing to do is find out what bands your carrier uses. Then compare it to the ones for a phone you like. If att doesn't work then T-Mobile maybe a better option as they use the Euro bands where ATT doesnt

HTC lying about AT&T "compatibility"

U11 does not support VoLTE on AT&T
U11 does not support WiFi-Calling on AT&T
U11 does not support Video Call on AT&T
U11 does not support Integrated Visual Voicemail on messages app like it use to on HTC One M7, M8 & M9, you need the stand alone app which is crap...
the phone works for calls data LTE works MMS haven't test yet I don't use them....
Topic: General
Is VoLTE band used by AT&T suppoeted by the U11 and is it available in your area?
Was Wifi Calling verified to be working on your Wifi network on other devices? If it is then could be a faulty software glitch. If not the it could be a blocked port or their service is down.
I'd contact HTC and AT&T and ask them for clarification. HTC had to do testing with AT&T and gotten the approval from them to claim compatibility.
As far Video Calling, that sounds more like a third-party app feature then HTC. I've never known HTC dialer app to support anything like that.
You might have done all of this, but your post doesn't have any thing to show investigations or troubleshooting. Just a rant post.
Help future users out by having details and things that were tried etc.

Volte was working fine on my HTC 10 video call and Wi-Fi calling is been introducedon newest devices on AT&T since galaxy note 4 edge with is couple of years old and it does support both features
Sent from my HTC U11 using XDA Labs
I had my suspicions about this as well. An HTC rep told me directly that the U11 is certified to work with AT&T's VoLTE and Wifi Calling. Of course, when they told me that, I turned it around with something along the lines of "Yeah, I know it will support it from a hardware perspective, but AT&T only allows certain approved devices to use those features. Can you say with 100% certainty that the unlocked U11 will actually be allowed to take advantages of those features?" They responded that it would... 100% I still don't believe it, though, and I have a feeling I'll be sending my U11 back within the return period.
All of the same confirmed here.. no wifi calling or VoLTE.. as well as no Band 30 support. What a pain. On AT&T that is.. works fine on TMO.

This is really really sad. I was going to buy the U11 with my Discover card's 1st year double cash back (would have covered the whole cost) that rolls into my account at the end of August... Figured S-OFF / Locked may be available by then too. But after reading about VoLTE and WiFi calling not working on AT&T, I'm having 2nd thoughts. I live in NJ so WiFi calling really isn't super important (we have amazing LTE coverage just about everywhere) but neither working?? That's really super beat man.
I also saw posts on AndroidCentral reporting the same thing, so I believe you guys that this is a real problem. Thread was titled "Where is the WiFi Calling setting?" Although one user said that VoLTE was working on the U11 / AT&T, another verified it does not. As bassoprofundo so accurately explained to the CS rep at HTC, a guy on the other forum thread also referenced how the advanced calling features on the U Ultra, although "supported" by hardware, didn't actually work on AT&T either.
At least the HTC 10 was an awesome enough phone that I don't mind continuing to use it for the next year to come. But still, I hope HTC and AT&T collaborate and get this solved... which unfortunately sounds unlikely. I really like the U11 and I haven't even seen it in person yet.
Plus ViperU is already out. I WANTS.
I'm praying that AT&T / HTC surprises us!!!

Data on LTE is different than VoLTE {Voice Over LTE} basically is VoIP but on a LTE connection don't get things messed up LTE data indeed does work just no VoLTE that means you will not be able to talk and browse at the same time with LTE speeds but 4G does the same thing just on a different speed
