Anyone else getting a slight grey banding effect when viewing white pages on the dimmist brightness setting?
Would this be acceptable?
Dim you phone to the lowest setting then go to the Google page.

I had the same problem on my SGS2! I sent it to Samsung and they gave me a new phone for free But you have to take another phone for about 10 days :-( that was hard for me! :-D

if it's common I think I'll put up with it.
it's a side effect of the amoled and oled displays that white appears a bit grey or imo a bit blue

Ah ok, was thinking about something like that.
I think its ok, because it is only just with the lowest level of brightness.
I never really use such a low brightness.

Sorry man, thats just how it is. Its not Amoled or Super Amoled. Its just a Super LCD. Ya i wasn't crazy about it either.
Sensation's display is way batter then MT4G's "bad" display but not as good as MT4G's "good" display. I can live with it. YMMV.

I had the Mt4g and it took 4 of them to finally get a good screen. I have found the same situation on this Sensation. I have had 2 with the third on the way. First two had random reboots -very hot battery- screen unresponsive issues and washed out screens. I guess some will just accept the screen, as is their right.
same i am about to return it and put my sim back to my mt4g
I just noticed recently than my girl's Desire S screen is somewhat pinkish in color. I'm not sure if it has this problem ever since. I got it secondhand from a friend and he also didn't noticed the pinkish color when he bought it, up until I compared them side by side with my Desire S in a white wallpaper.
The left screen is my girl's DS and the on right is mine. I both set it at maximum brightness

Should I bring it to the Service Center?

I believe that two different manufacturers made the SLCD panels for the DS, you may want to check that you simply just don't have different ones which may vary slightly - although that's not ideal obviously!
Although it doesn't look right, try taking a picture of each which the other phone on high resolution and then uploading then both, as those pics are a bit blurry and its difficult to see the detail.
There seems to be a white hue or shadow around the text on my note. I can't recall if this was there originally or if this is some setting my kids somehow found that I cannot find. It's pretty annoying though. It doesn't show up on screenshots but I took a screenshot and then took a picture with my phone and you can see the white banding on the photo that isn't on the screenshot.
Is this a setting, a Samsung thing or something gone wrong with my hardware?

Photo of Screen:
Yes there's a setting for this.
What you are seeing is sharpening that is added to the screen by default (note - it won't be saved in your drawing, it's added by the Note's screen). There is a setting called "Screen mode" (if I remember correctly) under "Display". If you change this to "Movie" it disables the colour boost and the sharpening. You'll still have good colour and sharpness, it just won't have extra boost applied.
Setting this to movie was one of the first things I did, after I realised everything was over-sharpened and over-saturated. They do this so it looks good in a showroom next to a bunch of other displays by other manufacturers. On its own you probably will prefer accuracy over mega-saturation and mega-sharpness.
Ahh.. much better. Thank you!

Hey everyone! I have a bit of an issue with my nexus 5. Recently a small area (about .5cm by .5cm) has had a faded red circle with two slightly smaller faded circles (one green and one blue) beside it appear on any black/dark background. Its definitely a hardware issue, as I've tested for the problem with several different apps/pictures. It doesn't make the phone unusable, but it is very annoying when viewing a dark image or video. Similar red areas are present in the lower left corner of my n7 2013 but they are very dim and I hardly ever notice them. They look like this:

}
I can get a better picture if necessary, but this is pretty much what it looks like.
I tried searching for others with the problem, but all I could find were hundreds of posts about dead pixels. Does anyone know what this is? Is there anything I can do short of buying a new LCD? Thanks.
Just realized in my settings brightness says it's set to 80% at its lowest and the only way I can make it dimmer it to switch on "extra dim" and even at that it's not especially dark. Is this normal? My brightness slider can't go any lower and we're still at 80%?
I haven't had any trouble with my brightness slider, nor using extra dim in the past two weeks. Try a reboot?

Tried it, no joy. When your brightness slider is all the way dark, go into your settings to display and tell me what percentage it says when you get a chance

Says 0% and of course looks much dimmer than this screenshot - I do not have Extra dim on at this time:

Mine is the opposite. It struggles with Ambient light, staying dim in brighter light more than just occasionally
