[Q] Home Screen Button Not Working ICS leaked - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Sorry if this is a Noob question.
Please help me, I updated to the 4.0.5 leaked version and the home screen button is not working, is this a common issue, is there something I can do to fix this??

Make sure you read it all...including everything linked. And if you have a SkyRocket it should be 4.0.3.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1573218

Highest FW out is 4.0.4 and that's aosp for the nexus.
Anyways,
Just boot into recovery and do a factory reset

You can also go into system settings, backup and restore and do a factory reset. Hope it helps.

Use nandroid to recover to a previous restore point...easy as pie...
Well I updated the latest wimax and added the damage control 3.2.2 and sometime my screen had a mind of its own so I nandroided back to damage control 3.1 i had before i did all that and now it works fine.
So right now Im sticking to 3.1 till maybe a bug gets fixed

i727 w/ICS 4.0.3 freezes when shutting down..?

I just updated 4.0.3 tonite, rooted, installed titanium backup, and started one by one installing my backups. I don't have anything crazy yet...angry birds, facebook, etc...(other than a couple of apps I needed like lucky patcher, busybox..etc.)
Anyway when I restart or shut down the phone, it gets stuck at the "Shutting down" screen...with no reboot.
Any suggestions or ideas before I resort to reflashing?

Known issue/bug. You can shutdown by holding the power button for 12 seconds, or install the 14 toggle mod to shutdown and reboot.

hmm...it's about 50/50 on ppl with issues...not sure about that..
Question though...is it safe to flash this cwm over the one I currently have?
..and once I do, I shouldn't have to reflash the rom right?

Yea i had problems with 5.8.1.3. Unresponsive.
Yes you can flash recovery over each other in odin . Im using 5.5.0.4 cwm touch and its working fine. Able to do nandroid and fix permissions. This recovery is actually flashed in cwm.
No you do not need to reflash your ROM.

Have you done any mods since, meaning no other flashes of other ics Roms after or in between. My problems all started after i flashed the cwm nandroid backup in another thread. The issues followed me until i did a darkside wipe then did the odin one click and all my issues went away. Im staying here for a while. Did my nandroid backup of this to always revert to.

This is one of the known problems that sometimes occurs with the ICS leak and most things based on it. The problem is people that think they have the "know all" answer for a fix because something they did worked for them. Just because something works for you doesn't mean it will work for averyone! So it's ok to say "well, this is what worked for me...", but it IS NOT ok to tell others that it is an overall fix or that they did something wrong because it didn't work for them like it did you.
What I have found is that everytime you flash the ICS leak (or related) you might get different results, so if you really are interested in trying to get everything working, just keep flashing until it does. It might take several tries, but keep trying. This seems to be the case for many people, but I cannot promise it will work for you.
I experienced similar results, first flash was lagged to insanity. however second flash fixed this and restored the home button funtion.
The only other thing i did after the first flash was a factory reset, which in my case fixed the home button issue. Not sure if it was freezing prior to that. I may try the cache thing but its not a burdensome enough issue to reflash again. too many workarounds to redo everything again..
Didn't realize this was so common when i posted this thread..thought it was random. Now if only someone could delete it...

Same here, though I haven't tried them all, I just went back to stock, manual debloat and a couple other mods and it's good enough for me, at least until we get real CM9 or AOSP roms.
I'm really not the type to wipe my phone and flash a new ROM twice a week. I'd rather just have something that's stable and functional, and only upgrade for big stuff.
I didnt have the shutdown problem the first time I installed the original ics leak install.
But I did after I restored a backup of it.

[Q] Embryo Noob Question

I flashed Embryo a couple days ago and everything has been fine except all of a sudden, I have my old keypad on the phone dialer (I was on SKY ICS) instead of the new one that came with embryo. I don't understand how all of a sudden I have my old SKY keypad.
The one thing I wonder is that I did a data restore in Tebu so maybe that's why? I re-flashed Embryo and deleted all of my SKY zips I had but I still have the SKY dialer.
Sorry if this question is annoying but I've tried for two days to figure this out

check to ensure that you did not restore a system app such as dialer or others. TibU will restore those if your not paying attention..

[Q] ics for blaze

so heres the scoop..
i have a blaze, of course hence the thread title..lol......ics update rolled out, and im not sure i may like it, so heres my question.
if i update to ics, am i able to revert back to gb?, also, what do i need to do to return my phone back to factory stock unrooted?....
i do have a nandroid of stock rom, but its a rooted backedup.
thanks!!!!!
Flash CWM. WHEN you flash it, you're not rooted.. so just make a backup of stock gb. ROOT it. Then I suggest you flash CM9

i am rooted right now with cwm, running clone wars, i have read that i have to be unrooted to update to ics, but my thing is i may not like ics, and i have read there are problems with ics, so i want to know if i will be able to revert back to gb........i have a root stock back up of gb as of right now
Just flash CM9. Don't bother w/ stock ICS.

I727 is Bricked ?

Hi XDA,
I have a problem with my i727 at&t, 3 days ago I upgraded to JB 4.1.2 with Kies, it's all stock ROM no root.
at the begining suddenly turned off and stayed vibrating with the dark screen, but was returning on.
But now only loads the image of Samsung and is vibrating and it does not happen there,
and try with change of battery but it seems to brick of nowhere.
any solution, or another good looking paperweight ?
Have you tried flashing the stock firmware with odin. That would be the step I'd take.

If not, I've had a similar thing happen to me several times before.
You can read about the last time it happened to me here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2403022 .
It's such a weird and unexpected thing in my mind that I totally forgot about the first time(s?) it happened.
The first time was either when the AT&T JB leaked in 2012 or when the official AT&T JB UCMC1 was released. Rogers JB RUXUMA7 is also sensitive in some weird ways.
When using the AT&T / Rogers JB roms always make sure to turn phone off by the power menu. As just pulling out the battery has bricked my phone twice (or more times when I was testing out roms) with at least the AT&T rom.
Rogers RUXUMA7 has it's own quirks, a CWM (both older and newer version) backup of this rom restored will have gallery and phone forceclosing. Even with wiped data & cache for those particular apps..
