Either Samsung will send an update for kies, before the ICS Update... (likely the case) or you'd have to go back to 2.3.5.

I would like to know, how to upgrade to ice cream sandwich Version 4.0.4 or 4.0.3 . The issue I am a facing is that I cannot find the right version for the above baseband.
Another question is tha how do i stop the download, in the system update screen, it keeps on repeatedly doing this and i cannot get this to stop ?
Please help, note that I have had the phone checked under warranty and they say it is ok.

I am using Samsung Galaxy Note I upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3, it works nice. I upgraded through a third party as I am not use to all this, I mean I am not tech savvy. Now, what I see everytime I connect it to Kies is a message saying "your device is not supported to upgrade via kies". What could be the reason? Nor I can find a new update from my phone itself as I know there is a new update to 4.0.4 but, my phone always shows no updates available?

Hi.
I have a rooted Samsung GT-I5801 with 2.1 and been waiting patiently to Samsung to resolve the KIES problem, but i'm tired of waiting.
All the official solutions i saw to upgrade had a warning to phone that where blocked to the operator. The fact that a i have it rooted removes that block?
How can i upgrade to 2.2?

Don't know about the block, but just search for STOCK FROYO OS in the dev thread
There is one with all stock firmware
Else go to samfirware.com (google for exact address) , register, and download the reqd firmware FOR THE REQD REGION

It would be nice to try custom froyo 2.2 roms. Stock 2.2 rom for i5801 has phone heating problem when used with continuous data connection. U won't get good battery backup either.

The latest official update from Samsung/AT&T is Ice Cream Sandwich, not Jelly Bean. It's also not available OTA (Over The Air) because of its size; you need to download Kies (basically Samsung's version of iTunes minus the store) and it can install the update when you plug in your phone via USB. If you want Jelly Bean now, it's going to be rooted, and it's going to be quite buggy. Expect many random freezes and reboots.
By the way, here is the correct forum for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1493
So my dad and I both have the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE Skyrocket from Rogers; I727R. A couple days ago I updated mine via Kies from Gingerbread 2.3.5 to Jellybean 4.1.2. Today I tried updating his (also GB 2.3.5), but once I connect his device, Kies says it already has the latest firmware.
Is there a way around this? I explained my situation to Samsung Support over the phone and the representative's suggestion was that "even if someone had the exact same phone model and carrier, the update could be rolled out at different times." And I was advised to just wait. Hasn't Jellybean been out for a few months now?
I tried a hard reset on his phone and it still didn't offer any firmware updates. Can anyone help? Thanks.
If Kies does not work for you, read the stickies. In them you will find all the directions to use Odin to update your Dad's phone. You will also find in there all the files you need to do it. Good luck!
