Hi Everyone,
I have searched Google and must say I can't find any solution for changing SMS WakeUp / Notification pop-up.
It is so annoying when the screen lights up.
I would also like to be able to disable that it shows the message in the top statusbar.
I have unlocked my phone by finding the "ChevronWP7" unlocker tool and send (by e-mail) the "ChevronCert" to my WP7 HTC Trophy and installed the certificate. Downloaded "Tom XAP Installer v1.2.zip" and installed "RegistryEditor 1.1.0.0.xap" where I have tried several registry fixes found on different websites: "modify-sms-notifications-in-windows-phone-7" but nothing worked also found a solution here and the same again nothing i working:
[HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"DisableSMSWakeUpEvent"=dword:1
Could someone help out I would really appreciate....
Thanks.
Bump please
Bump...Lookin for the same thing
Sorry guys, but why would you want this? I hate it on my Android. I have to push the power button every single time, which in turn, kills my hardware buttons.
At least you guys go to your lockscreen with a notification at the top, I had to download an app to wake the screen and it bypasses the lockscreen and I text/call people every single day lol. I wish it would just GO TO THE LOCKSCREEN!!!
Privacy, of course!
Bump.
@Dj21o: With respoect, I can think of at least one good reason why this setting should be "settable" and that is privacy. I may be in an environment where I don't want just anyone to be able to see an SMS as it arrives just by looking at my screen.
The fact that you would prefer it this way is, of course, good, too, but I think ther choice should be in the hands of the user.
Don't youy agree?

Yeah, it should be available for those that want it, and for those who don't... It is a simple setting that make it a big deal for users, and I can totally see where you are coming from. Sometimes my phone unlocks, and that is swiping left to right. I imagine it happens much more swiping up lol.
There is a site where you can put down ideas for developers to look at, and people vote for them. I can post the link of the site if you want.
Here is the site, you can post your ideas accordingly to what type of idea it is.

I just want to know exactly why you want this? Yes it can be abit bright at the first glimpse but isn't there a bigger risk for falling asleep if you just press a button, instead of actually opening your eyes?
Nothing against what you like/dislike, I'm just asking, why.

I want it too because I have Whatsapp group where people keep messaging all the time. And the screen remains on all the time. which simple means that my battery drain faster because screen is always on.

Any news about this???
So, disable Toast notifications in WhatsApp? That's a (required) per-app setting, no need to request an OS feature for it!
Why you don't flip you phone down? If proximity sensor detect something close to phone display it will don't turn display on when toast notification pop-up.
Hi,
I'm trying to set up my phone to be able to change the color of my led notifications depending on the event (or at least, get a solid light instead of the flashing green).
I've tried to google it, and search this forum as well, but every thread i've found seemed to be before we were able to S-OFF (and thus, if i understand right, permanently root our devices), so I thought that maybe the situation has changed...
My phone is quite new, and not rooted yet, since i don't seem to be needing anything requiring root, but would rooting it let me use other colors for my notifications ?
I really don't understand why HTC doesn't make more use of its led system, I've had both HTC Magic and Desire, and it's the first time I have this much trouble for my led notifications color (though i had to root my desire right away, to get rid of the bloated Orange rom, so it might have been the same thing)
Thanks to everyone who will be able to bring me a little... light on the subject
Two things that you can do.
1. Root... Cause its Awsome and you always have more options with it.
2. Install an a called Yala stands for yet another led ap
You could also try android assistant the allows you to mess with led lights. However requires root access for most of its functions (not sure if this is one of them)
I am rooted and even that does not give you more led colors. I simply use noled now. Uses the screen to notify you in what notification you have. Good app for what it is and has sleep mode so that the wife won't kill me lol....

Bear in mind the only colours you'll get on the Sensation are green and orange.

Thanks a lot for this, i've been using this app for a day or two now, and it is just perfect. I was afraid it would be battery consuming, but the use of the proximity sensor to turn off notifications is an awesome feature. It was really the only thing my sensation lacked, and it really feels perfect now.

Thanks for the info, it's a weird policy though, you would think that a 450€ phone would include a quality led for notifications... Especially since older models like the magic or the desire did.

I do intend to root, if only to mess a little bit with roms using rom manager, which is always fun (and from my experiences with the desire, the community here have the most awesome roms available), but as I said i am content with my device right now, and since it is still quite new, I'd like to keep that "working out of the box" feeling as long as possible.

I believe it is the same LED as the previous HTC phones the colors are just a Hex decimal for the colors combos just like the missed call apk provided.

No probs. Also a fyi, you can download a few themes for those icons. I currently use big spender. There are different sizes due to your preference. I currently use the 64x64 one attached, but you can use whichever you want.
To use the theme, download and extract the theme. If your SD card has the NoLed folder, just drag/paste the folder and its contents into the theme folder IIRC. Go to the NoLED app and pic the theme, go to the colors and edit all the notification icons you use to white and hit apply. These icons are already in color so no need to add any.
I'm running the latest Hyperdrive, and my GPS is so wonky in the settings and status bar toggles that it's unusable, so does anybody have an alternative way to turn GPS on and off?

can you describe your issue a little better so we can help you?
tighten the screws on the back of your phone, it seems to help many with GPS.

I'm on RLS14 and my GPS is so wonky that I can't use it. If I change it in the status bar toggles (both stock and toggle mods) it will sometimes turn off or on, but I only know because my battery starts draining. Then it's nigh on impossible to get it off again, so I've got unused GPS for sometimes a couple days. And Location Services is no help either, the check marks check and dissappear with a mind of their own. So if anyone has a solution, that would much appreciated (I've already tried wiping cache/dalvik and fixing permissions, and followed all instruction to install)
^that's what I put in the rom thread
and thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it

Just try a different rom? The new clean rom gps works perfectly for me, just drove from IN to Disney World.

Hi all. In this Video the reviewer states that he isn't getting any notifications with the screen off. Also it is a problem for one of our members. Is anyone else having these hassles? Do you get incoming text, email AUDIO notifications without waking the phone?
Hi
I have no issue with notification at all..
Even when screen is off ..
U do have to active notification from each app setting and alow all permissins...
Also keep in maind to keep app running remove battery restriction from app setting also..
All will work normal
Working for me but I did need to grant WhatsApp and Trurcaller lots of permissions.
I even got True Edge installed for a visual way to get notified and that works brilliantly with the device asleep with screen off.
I was a bit surprised at the extra level of permissions needed. It's all gravy now, but I could see why a reviewer or somebody unaware would get caught out
But yes, I am getting notifications with the screen off in sound and visually, without having to wake the phone.
Indeed at first I wasn't getting any notifications but then I discovered you need to go into the app info and give permission for notifications and turn off battery saver.. now it works perfect and only for the apps I want
The video the OP posted is exactly whats happening to me. I have all the settings as described. Battery saver turned off and even when into each apps settings and allowed ALL permissions just to see if it would work. As the video says, notifications come, but you have to wake the device to see them, there is no sound or anything on screen until the device is woke. Exactly as the video describes. I do hope its fixed soon, I am back to using my Note 5 whilst my beautiful 10 Ultra sits in its box.

Have you undone your earlier modifications to the phone (copying files from phone to phone etc)?
You have two problems and the one to ignore for now is louder notifications. It's notifications at all.
It isn't something to fix from Xiaomi's view and it is always worth learning the software. I don't like it myself... It can be cloying etc.
But the default behaviour is to opt in to notifications. It's working as intended. That said look where we are, it's just your problems are a special case. No biggie, let's fix this!
You have an outstanding issue clouding this where you are trying to use unexplained files on the device (like seriously what format are they? Does it work in Music or anything? Have you tried removing them?)
Took a while but I get all my notifications now when screen is off, see 2vattached screen shots
Thanks all for answering my question! I think this is my last question before buying from Liaow.com, if the syncing isn't a constant problem. Does anyone have a major syncing problem as explained in this review? Once or twice a day I can deal with. I check the calendar throughout the day like most people. However if I get busy and forget, missing calendar events/alarms wouldn't work for me. I'd be forced to use my work iPhone<shudder> for calendar events lol.

How did you get the icons to show on the lock screen?
Mine doesn't. Quite annoying.
Also sometimes the lockscreen doesn't show me notifications even tho they are there.. :s
I have no issues with icons displaying while locked. You do need to enable them and ensure they start automatically and power control is turned off for the app. It has been much easier in the EU ROM for some reason.
Solution!
Here is the thing that helped me with the same notification issue! Just google "xiaomi mi 10 ultra notifications" and in the top 5 links you'll probably find an article from: theunpopulartraveller. It explains the settings, and they need to be accessed by pressing and holding the app icon ^ app info.
Don't give up, try and you'll get the sounds from needed apps back. And ye, actually now I find the way Xiaomi did it much more convenient: I just turned on notifications for 2 apps, and all the rest are silent, while previously I had to turn off all the rest of the apps (much more than 2, definitely) not to get disturbed by all the bull****.
EU Rom doesn't have the "importance" option at 30/31
Well after trying to update to 12.1.1 and seeing what a buggy heap of junk it was, I factory reset, installed 12.0.15, and formatted data. But now notifications don't work when the screen is off whatsoever, absolutely no notifications. Beautiful. I'm so sick of the software issues with this phone, I'm definitely never buying another Xiaomi phone at this point.

Disable adaptive notifications from setting. I dont know what google thinking when creating such feature.
it basically interrupt the whole notification process. Using so called Ai to decide, when to give you notifications or when not to. But most of the time it pick wrong decision and delay our notification altogether.
This is android feature since Q thus also causing problem on Pixel phone. On xiaomi seems like it suddenly got worse on Android 11

How did u manage to roll back to 12.0.15?
Get over to the EU ROM version. Lock screen notifications work fine.
Have you checked each notification that it has no battery optimisation set, also, check in notifications that each one has access to the lock screen. Since A11, notifications have been a pain but for some reason they do work much better on the EU ROM.

There are issues for Gpay and some banking / local safetynet apps for EU ROM which i do not wish to live with.
Somehow the props file in the eu rom causes those issues.
i am probably going to rollback to 12.0.15... now is the excruciating 160 hours wait for unlock.
You obviously don't follow the EU forums. GPay works, safeynet works and my UK bank works. But you also get everything plus more than the Chinese stock and all updates are based on both weekly and stable stock ROMs respectively.

i don't follow it to the tee, but i've seen some reports of some users not able to use gpay out of the stable roms.
that's why.. too much trouble.. i'll see what i can do when the unlock timer is up..
Good afternoon everyone, I was just wondering if there was an application that I can use to show the Charging information on my lock screen and AOD (Charging speed and estimated 100% Time) I can achieve this on my Pixel 6 Pro with Root by using AOSP mods but I was hoping to find a non root alternative as my P7P is my personal and work device. I am fully aware that this is most likely not something I can do without Root but I figured I would shoot my shot here to see if anyone has been able to achieve this as attempting to find a solution for this on Google is beyond useless.
Hmmmm... Actually lockscreen shows time how much it will take for full charge by default (its editable at all)
AOD - dont know (never used AOD)
Indeed I don't think you can tweak the lock screen without root...

Ahh I see, thank you for the information. I assumed this was not something I could do without AOSP tools but figured I would ask.
The NotifyBuddy and NotifyEdge apps shows (among other things) the charge status in percentages on the lock screen, but unfortunately they work quite unreliable, one time it works, the other time it doesn't, I still haven't figured out why.
