Android Market problem - General Questions and Answers

I have samsung Galaxy Mini that come with NO Android market
I tried to install it but i cannot open it
How can i solve this?

how did you try to install it? by flashing gapps or by installing an .apk file?

If it is still pretty much unused, did you consider factory reset?

I install it using .apk file

Not long time the Android Market is change to Google Play.
Show that have you Google Play on your phone?

if you're rooted, flash it with the gapps zip and see if that works. Or a factory reset like bylecosoft suggested.

Sorry but i am new with android phones, and the market is not present since i bought the telephone
Please explain to me what to do, does factory reset restore android market
How can i root the device ? and What is gapps.rar?

This is what you have to do:
Step1
Go to settings>Applications>(enable)Unknown sources
Step2
Open browser>google "Google Play.apk">download it
Step3
In notifications bar you should see it,click it and install it.
Hope it helped

If u just brought the phone, contact samsung or ur carrier (ie sprint tmobile)..... DO NOT ROOT it if ur new to this stuff and ur just trying get the market. As the other guy said earlier, its not called android market anymore but "google play" now... this change just happen not too long ago. And I do believe those google market apks no longer work, so u may need a google play apk... but if ur phone is a registered google which all samsung products are, than getting google should be easy.. but don't root unless u know what u r really doing becuz u void ur warranty and loose access to any carrier updates that ur phone company may put out. Rooting is not recommended for Newbies unless u have reason and some undetstanding of what ur getting into.

And gapps is a file rooted users use to get google apps (google maps, play, voice, support etc...)bck on their phone.. u want need that unless u root and erase ur current android operating system to put some hacked version of android on there like Cyanogen. Stock ur phone already comes with those apps and services built in, just try what butterfly said above and if that doesn't work contact samsungs or ur carrier tech support... that the easiest way..

[Q] Brand New 4.0 ICS Coby Tablet Issue!!! HELP!!!

So yesterday i received a gift of the the brand new Coby Kyros MID9742-8, which I was shocked to see came stock with ICS... Just like many other Kyros tablets though it doesnt have access to the google market (google play).. So I downloaded a google play.apk and installed it... But everytime i click the app it opens and closes automatically... Then i read to delete that apk and install the google services framework first.. then reinstall the vending apk (google play apk).. I found a google serivces apk but everytime i try installing it, it says installation fails... Any ideas XDA... Becuz I really want android market, this Get Jar market it came with sucks...
same problem
I have the same problem would use cm 7 but that would be downgrading so I'm just patiently waiting for a reply
APPS
Goto 1mobile.com and download the app and install. I have been able to get the google play apps I want there. Also, you can get apps for the Amazon Store, just have the app emailed to your tablet.
Ok I've did the amazon store thing which works good. But I also now found another way which works good if u have a existing android phone... just download "app backup and restore" to ur phone... then download what ever apps u want to ur phone... then on ur phone back up the apps u want to transfer to ur tablet. Then plug ur phone and tablet into ur pc.. next find the app backup and restore folder on ur phone then just copy the apks to ur tablet. Then go to file explorer app on ur tablet and find the apks then install them... I put instagram, chase mobile, temple run, and a bunch of other apps from the google market on my coby tablet this way and it works...... my new problem is getting flash to work on it now... any suggestions
Root the sucker
I just found instructions here...I'll let you know how it goes.
http://androidforums.com/4205223-post14.html
No luck with those, I'm getting hung up on Step 7. Trying the amazon store work around.
saving same problem, getting hung up on #7
i've tried all the past versions of superoneclick since 2.2. can anyone help?
I get the apps from 1mobile (which seems to have more of what i need than amazon) but most of them quit because i dont have a google account, I tried to in the options but I can't seem to find a way. I'd really like to get gmail and google music in here and synced up.
Any updates to this? I picked up one of these, and I have do the backup/restore option to get most of my files on it. But still would like to see some sort of rooted/rom for this thing.

[GUIDE] Get Google Play v3.7 on Chinese Phones

This is a Guide on How to get The Google Play Store v3.7 on Spreadtrum Phones.
I had some trouble trying to get the Play Store on these phone.
Normal installing did not work for any Versions.
The problem was that the Spreadtrum Phones Without The play stores are
also missing another app called GoogleServicesFramework that allows you
to login to the Play Store.
That is Why it would crash every time it was installed!
Here I'll show you what to do to get it to work.
Downloads
GooglePlayStore v3.7
ServicesFramework
*Note.You have to be rooted
1. Copy the downloaded files to you SD-Card
2. In a Root Explorer copy those file to /system/app
3. Restart your phone.
If all goes well you should have the Google play store and it should let you log in!
You could try this method with other version although i never have tested it, it should
still work once you have the ServiceFramework!
If you come into any problems feel free to ask! Cheers!

Google Account Issue
It appears that this is an account issue, for some of us. I am having the same problem on multiple devices with my Google Apps account, but my gmail account is working just fine on those devices.
Google is evidently aware of it, and its gotten a little press on Android Police. Whatever you do, don't listen to what people are saying and factory reset the device. IT doesn't help, and all it winds up doing is removing access to all of your paid / no paid apps.
A small discussion has sprung up on the Google Wallet forum here.

i have had this issue on ics not on jelly bean before my fix for this normally was less radical than an factory reset
Suspects:
1. Google Play Store
2. Google Services Framework
3. Download Manger
Step 1 remove all Gmail accounts from settings menu under accounts (i do this because i want a clear start like when you did a factory reset)
Step 2 locate Google Play Store (android market app) in settings menu > applications > all > Google Play Store
2.1 Force Stop
2.2 Uninstall Updates
2.3 Clear data & cache
Step 3 locate Google Services Framework in settings menu > applications > all > Google Services Framework
3.1 Force Stop
3.2 Uninstall Updates
3.3 Clear data & cache
Step 4 locate Download Manger in settings menu > applications > all > Download Manger
4.1 Force Stop
4.2 Uninstall Updates this does not get update make sure its enabled
4.3 Clear data & cache
Step 5 do a restart for good luck
Step 6 Open Google Play Store and setup you Google account again
Step 7 Open you favorite email program and setup you account
Basically you just did a factory reset only on Google Play Store & Google Services Framework & Download Manger
Good luck hope this helps helped me a few times in the past
Don't waste your time with this. It's permanent, account related, Even a factory reset and reflash doesn't fix it.

Yes dude you can do sideload. Just download the apk from any third party app store, but one more thing the third party app store must be a good portal since downloading system apk from worst websites may be extremely harmful.Hit thanks if helped

You will need root to make it work. You not only need the playstore, but also the google services as system app. Can only be installed with root access.

Just download the Google play apk off a trusted site (i.e xda). Then the other apps off Google play.. Unless the update wipes data.. No you do not have to reinstall.
If you do have a system wipe, just keep Google play apk on your ex SD card.
Enjoy

Thanks for you reply, much appreciated, I was wondering however do i need to also install google framework, services etc, as i a have read simply installing play store on a Chinese version is not enough and a number of google installers exist like gms core, however there seems to be a number of people complaining of compatibility problems therefor i was wondering if when my phone comes, i would have major probs installing google apps.
initially i was simply hoping to flash a official stock eu rom, however someone on this forum said that would void warranty, which i was surprised because coming from back to back Samsungs, flashing a stock ROM of another region was not a problem as it was official.
thanks
There I believe if you download those APK.. All that will be included
Like Facebook.. It's all included
You will have to install Google games or other Google related stuff individually... If something is needed Google will tell you, then just go to play and install.
My pleasure to help... Let me know if you need further assistance.
As for honors warranty policy... That's their call, I myself come from a long line of Samsung's.
Yes they are more flash friendly.
Other than that..idk
Good luck cheers
