Howdy Folks,
I'd like to expand out of the TF/Honeycomb app list with this emulator list. Not sure how to make this a sticky or if I can. If you can please do. Please post any games or emus that work for you and I will update the OP.
GAMEON! =]

NESoid Lite - Super Mario Bros. 3
edit: Is anyone else having trouble with sound for Star Fox? It works until the gameplay starts. I know there are issues, but I thought it would be all sound or no sound.
N64oid (latest version) - Super Smash Bros - works almost perfectly (some characters are missing eyes)
love the thread but unfortunately haven't been able to get any games working on psx4droid or fpse so far
Oposite to the thread title, what I couldn't get to work was Any Mega Drive/Genesis EMU or GB/GBA EMU's
Working is...
N64oid v1.1.4
ROMS -
Zelda OOT
Zelda MM
SNesoid v2.2.2
ROMS -
Zelda ALttP
Super Mario World
Also managed to get the above to work with
WiimoteController v0.5b
Tiger Arcade (Neogeo, Capcom & Cave) does not scale correctly. Honeycomb issue, since same issue on A500 and Xoom, but not the gTablet (Froyo).

I'm focusing on PSX games and EMUs now and found that some of the ROMS come in different versions which do not always work but found that they have to be extracted to produce a .BIN file to go along with the .CUE. Maybe this is a similar problem with the EMUs you mentioned above.
If you can list some details on how far you got.
~DC
DevCake,
with Gensoid I was testing version 2.4
Tried .bin .smd and .zip with multiple versions from different sites all had same results. In Gensoid at select rom stage. select any of the roms, screen goes black for 2-3 seconds then your taken back to the select roms page.
Same with all Sega emus.
Rikki
EDIT - Gensoid v2.4.3 works
Also Below Hybrid stated Gameboid works, I only got it working with v2.4.4
Gameboid works flawlessly for me, automatically adjusts itself landscape/portrait.
Pokemon Emerald, a few DBZ games and a gundam game is all I have tried.
My only complaint is that the touchscreen d-pad is really bad for quick response.
is n64oid root only.

Nope. Emulators are legal, you just have to get the ROMs yourself.

So far no ROMS work on the psx4droid emulator. Got the newest version released on the creators site.
roms I have tried are:
-Final Fantasy 7
-Crash Bandicoot 3
-And not even the BIOS loads.
I get unexpected error

Twisty works (runs z files like Infocom games) but the text is really small and there's no way to adjust it, also doesn't go portrait. There's a 2.0 version floating around but i haven't tried it yet.

I am only using Johns gbc emulator. Any other good ones out there?

I use GameBoid (GBA) and FPse (PS1) emulators. GameBoid is not on the market anyone (no clue why) but I still like it the best. FPse is $4USD. When you use these, you need to get a hold of the BIOS files (obviously) and the actual game files. Anyone know of any good sites to get roms for either PS1 or GBA? Thanks.
Only time I used an emulator was when I jailbroke my iPhone for the very first time back in 2008. It was great for about a month, but I noticed that my phone was running slower and not performing as good as it used to.
Haven't had an emulator ever since.
I'm using SuperGNES on my skyrocket. All the game ROMs i found have played flawlessly. The only thing is getting the controls layed out so that my mitts actually hit the correct buttons lol

Try CoolRom.com They had a ton of ROMS for games I thought I would have no chance in hell in finding.
Thanks for the replies guys

I use GBCoid (Gameboy/Gameboy Color), turn based RPGs like Pokemon work rather well with it. Anything more complex becomes an exercise in frustration though, so I dont bother with other genres.
only gameboid and fpse tried n64 one way too many buttons
I use vNESlight and Blue Tomato (Sega emulator) on my WP7 device...
I use anDosBox to play old DOS games on my Android phone.
I use gameboid for gameboy advance games and FPse for playstation 1 games.
I tried the NES Emulator
For PS1 games I use Xperia Play, umad? jk. I'd like to use mupen64plus Xperia Play version but I can't afford it from my country so I count on N64oid for N64 games. For GameBoy, Gameboid. If you don't have the Xperia Play you can use FPSe.

I use Droidemulite and you can actually use different system roms on it. I have my wiimote connected to it and its really good. I play it on my HP touch pad so I have a nice big screen to play on. Oh the emulator app is free by the way.
I can (and do) play almost every game on my HTC Vision.
Only games I can't faithfully recreate is 2D fighters
snes........
SuperGNES Lite
my Nokia n9 has an emulator that has nes, snes, gba, psx, amiga, and pico all in one. Its the best mobile emulator I've ever seen.
Gameboid to play RPGs like Mother 3 which is free in the SlideME Market http://slideme.org/application/gameboid
FPSE for some random gaming here and there. Playing Monster Rancher Card Battle II currently
$3.99 in Android Market https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emulator.fpse&hl=en
MAME4droid Reloaded (0.139) to play random arcade games

I love playing pokemon red on my Evo 3D. Sometimes I wish I had a keyboard so I could play faster-paced games.. Sometimes you lose where the joypad is on a touchscreen.
I tried out a few emulators back when I was using my Milestone.
I had Gameboid and the other *oid ones for nes and snes I think.
I used them with a wiimote for that authentic dpad and buttons feeling even though my phone had a keyboard.
It was a little bit awkward though, with the controller and the phone not being physically connected. It made me nervous balancing my phone on my knee while holding the wiimote with both hands, so I ended up going back to my DS and PSP for most of those kind of games and only playing actual android games on my phone.
so I recently got myself an Xperia play for the purpose of doing some awesome classic gaming. The retro GBA, SNES, GENISIS emulators have been working flawlessly so far, and even N64 isn't all that bad.
However, now that I wanna try PSX, a conundrum arises for me.
I can either use FPSE (the unofficial PSX emulator) or the Playstation Pocket (official emulator) by making the custom iso's through my various downloaded backups.
I just wanna know which one has the overall faster and smoother experience and features.
The games that really wanna play are:
FFVII, VIII, IX
Vagrant Story
Metal Gear Solid
Alundra
Gran Turismo 2
GTA 2
Castlevania: SOTN
FPSE is far much better. No problems with games that You have on list. Savestates in any time You want and need (not just one like in psxperia). For me - only one con of psxperia is the fact that iso of CD is packed and takes less memory on storage card.

Some game doesnt work on psxperia... other have problems... but i still use it... fpse is great but kinda slow sometimes...
FF7 looks better on psxperia... FF9 works great except theres no sound in fmv... and theres some text problem in some zone...
The main differences are in compatibility and touchpad support. If you don't use the ICS beta, FPSE doesn't support analog touchpads and this could be somewhat of an annoyance. On the other hand, PSXperia has many many compatibility issues, has only one available savestate. The apks you use in PSXperia are much lighter that isos, though.
PSXperia has a better emulation, but has a lot of problem (for example Vagrant Story with the software rendering freeze during some videos but goes flawlessy, without it has a lot of graphic glitch, but don't freeze) and it is not compatible with all the games, FPSE has a good emulation (the only problem that i have was with Persona 2 Innocent Sin, but it is easy to solve with another emulator like ePSXe), but the graphic quality isn't the same of PSXperia
How can i change format from 16:9 to 4:3 in fpse? I tried "Original Mode" under Video settings with no luck. All games are in 4:3 and not 16:9 like xperia play screen.
On PSXPeria format is correct but games like GranTurismo2(Simulation Disc) don't work.

Oh? GT2 doesnt work with psxperia? did you try sofware mode? cause mine works...
(Simulation Disc only) It starts but when i try to select a car or start to take a licence it closes to homescreen. Software mode when i convert isos or in pspocket settings?
If you are on ICS use FPSE. If on 2.3.3-4 use PSXPerira.
FPSE > PSXPeria
I appreciate what the devs did with PSXperia, but for general compatibilty, ease of of use and features, FPSE is all over it.
Perferbally 2D since my phone is not the moat powerful, but 3d is fine too. Also classic games (gba, SMEs, etc) are welcome too. Thanks!

Soulcraft is not optimized for anything really.. On my One X and it lags constantly. You play for 30 seconds, and you're done with a map, and then there's the loading screen. Honestly, you look at the loading screen way more often than actually playing the game.
Avadon: The Black Fortress was released as part of the Humble Bundle, just requires a 1280x800 or higher resolution screen.
Not sure if it would be too resource intensive, but I'd recommend Dungeon Hunter. Playing the first few quests really resparked some Diablo nostalgia.
Haha I had the lite version on my iPod touch a while back, damn that was fun . I did not know that it was on Android!

If you are after classic games then download the emulators for the play store;
'Gameboy Colour A.D.' = Gameboy/Gameboy Colour emulator and is (free)
'GenPlusDroid' = Genesis/Mega Drive, Game Gear and Master System emulator (free and paid versions)
'SuperGNES' = Snes emulator (free and paid versions)
'Mojo NES' = Nes emulator (free and paid versions)
'N64 Emulator' = As title (free)
'PSX Emulator' = Playstation One emulator (free and paid versions / 'FPse for android' is better but only paid)
'Marvin - ZX Spectrum Emulator' = As description (free)
'CPS2HD Emulator' = Capcom emulator (paid only)
There are of course many others and alternatives to the ones mentioned above but thought these were worth mentioning as many have free versions to play with.
I haven't had the time to test it toroughly, but you might want to look into Delver: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5pbnRlcnJ1cHQuZHVuZ2VvbmVlciJd

I've really wanted to play gba and Snes games so I downloaded gameboid and Snes9x and Snes9x works perfectly without a hitch but on gameboid I get some bad sound glitchyness which annoys the hell outta me, which makes no sense as snes is a harder console to emulate than gba
Sent from my HTC T328w using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, SuperGNES, AFAIK, is only free if you don't want/need to save. If you want to save you have to pay. Snes9x EX is free and based on the free, open source Snes9x (SuperGNES is optimized for Android, so it may be faster on some devices).
SNES harder to emulate than GBA? It's a decade older, more or less. You may be right, but it's not logical.
GameBoid runs fine on my phone, but I have a pretty solid device. I wouldn't play anything requiring quick fingers, though. Not with touch screen controls. What you want to do about that is, get a PS3 controller (about $30-$40 shipped on Newegg) and Bluetooth pair it to your phone. There's an app (Sixaxis) for getting it to work with games.
I wouldn't expect anything like Oblivion to come out for Android, but I'd love to see something like Torchlight. (To hell with Activision and Diablo.)
Oh, there are a few Nethack clones on Android, but I'm sure you don't want that pain. Nethack is the ASCII-graphics game the original Diablo is more or less based on (random dungeons, dungeons with random monsters and loot) but it is notoriously hard.
Hi
I want to get know what emulators You are using. I'm asking for this because i had to change a system for ICS. And my favourite emulators (from *oids series) lags as hell on ICS and I'm looking for oportunity. I want to ask You for write a name of emulator - system, and why You are using it. In google play there are lots of diffrent emulators (lots of them are crappy).
OK lets start from me:
Frodo C64 - Commodore C64 - only one good emulator, plays almost all roms. Good speed (sometimes laggy).
Collen - Atari XL/XE - one of my favourite emulators of all time on android. Plays all games, great speed, quick saves, XP pad can be assign.
TigerMame 4.0.0 - arcade - good emulator based on Finalburn code. Neogeo, capcom games works better then on the other emulators. Fast, simple, fun (and there are DIP switches in last update !)
UAE4Droid - Amiga 500/600/1200 - best. From last update (AGA is now support) plays almost all games, hard disks are now avaible, XP pad works GREAT. Love it.
My Boy! - GBA - i look for good oportunity for oid version and I found even better. Works in full 60fps. Fast, lots of option to set, qucik save/load, light sensor. Just awesome. One of my favourite.
SNES 9x EX+ - SNES (Super Famicon) - SNES is my favourite game system. But this emulator is lot worse then snesoid (but snesoid is laggy in ICS). I cannot find anything better... Only one quick save/load slot. Some games works laggy (for example - Pinball Fantasies).
MD.Emu - Megadrive(Genesis) - Just like SNES 9x EX+ - it's not best. But SEGA CD games works. Only one quick save/load option, some games are laggy (for example Virtua Fighter 2). But better then laggy Gensoid.
NES.emu - NES - as above. One quick save/load. But it works in full speed without any lags, and all games works.
GBC.emu - GBC - I'm still looking for good GB/GBC emulator. This is good but not great. I'm still looks for a emulator that will play games from GB like in GBC (colors - not stupid filters).
FPSE - PSX - BEST psx emulator of all time. Fast, almost all games just works as oryginal, qucik save/load works great, lots of options (to make game works in 50 fps). I love it - and I will never change it .
Mupen64+ - N64 - I thought that N64oid will be best. But on ICS N64id "O"button open menu !!! Shame. Mupen64 works good, good games compatybility but it's works slower then N64oid...
I like DroidEmu the most. It's have many emulator inside it, easy setting and cheats, but PS emulator is separated.
Yeah - Droidemu is good. But on XP is unplayable - no button for options and for close emulator (only home button for get back to Home screen).

Yeah. I really need to install this emulator. I playd a lot on it on Nokia N-Gage, E90 and Samsung Omnia. I never try it on Android device. Thank You for reminder!
Jrioni arcade and mupen64 are great emus for me!!
I have to completely agree with My Boy!. After using GBAoid for awhile, I had believed it was great until I tried to play one of my favorites, Mega Man Zero series. At first I thought it was just in my head when I noticed the millisecond lags in the game (when rushing in attempt to score A or S). However, when I tried the same file on My Boy!, there was just no competition. :good:
TheVicious, I noticed you had stated "light sensor" for My Boy!, are you saying that it works with Boktai as well? If it does I am set.
I read somewhere that it works. But I cannot manage to turn it on (mayby is that because I have wrong rom file). But sensors works with Wario Twisted (gyro sensor) and rumble pack. I will try make a solar sensor to work (for now works only L trigger+ d-pad). When get something I will write here.
this is my emulators that really really worth to install :
GBA.emu
MD.emu
Sene9x
NEO.emu
Scummvm
FPSE
NES.emu
GEMRB
Mame4droid reloded ( i know that tiger arcade is better , but unfortunately , i can't buy tiger arcade aand unlock save/load option . paypal i blocked on my country )
the emulators that i'm waiting for stable version S:
ppsspp
NDS4droid
Dolphin ( when this will be stable ,i'll change my lovely xperia play )
In the extremely rare instance that I do pick yester-decade's games over more refined newer creations, the .emus by Robert Broglia are the best of the best.
The -oids are more popular for being free and having time under their belt, but the .emus are far superior in every regard.
Guys don't forget Jrioni emulators
and play the best game of all time
"I loved this game. I used to not eat lunch at school, and go straight to the liquor store to play the arcade game after school with my lunch money."
