HTC Chacha Sensor Problem.. - HTC ChaCha

Friends, i am having a strange problem... In my HTC Chacha it is showing wrong direction in every compass app and in maps too.
Tilt control is also not working fine.. When I hold my phone Landscap The car keeps on moving to right side... but if i hold it in a little inclined the control works fine.. I have many time callibrated my device but no solution...
MY english is Weeks hope u got what i am trying to say.. Help me plz...

The same is happening to me, using the last SuperOSR-2.5 rom.

The compass of the Chacha seems to be fairly inaccurate indeed, but this is a general problem of magentometers in small electronic devices. It will respond to other magnetic fields or metal-objects as well so if you are sitting indoors at your desk you may completely forget it.
Normally you can recalibrate your compass by moving it in figure-8 circles. Just search for "recalibrate compass" on youtube and you will find a lot of videos showing you how to do it. AFAIK the compass will be calibrated continuously by the system so there is no need or way to trigger the calibration process manually.
For optimal calibration go out in the open, turn the phone on holding it flat facing up and move it in circles. After that hold it upright and repeat. Finally hold it upright facing the side and repeat again.

Touch screen doesn't work!!

Hello,
Today my touchscreen stop working, i think it is because of humidity, because it has some spots on the screen. I hard reset and now i can't pass the screen aligmente, any ideas how i can solve this?
Has anyone had humidity in teh screen and solve the problem? some kind of cleaning?
For humidity, I don't know what to do, sorry.
My raphhael's touchscreen stopped working some weeks ago. I don't know why, the scrree is perfect: symply it stops working.
Then I try changing its rom, thinking the problem was the old rom. So I hadd my pda stucked at calibration step!
Then I found a file with calibration data for using remote calibration mode.
...just use search on xda-forum!!!
Using this data your pda will pass calibration step... but consider touchscreen will not resuscitate;-)
Oh my pda! After three weeks (it stayed turned off), I turned it on for moving some files and (surprize) touchscreen start working flawlessy
I really didn't understood what happened...

I've attached a zip file. Decompress it on your micro-sd and reboot Raphael.
Good luck;-)
Hey doping11,
I got the same problem with my touch pro.
After a evening walking outdoors i can home and
saw a little humidity at the side of my screen.
I hoped it gone away as it had come but no it stayed.
A week later, just this fryday i had a little spot appearing in my screen and
not a day later my touchscreen didn't work anymore.
The spot seems to create a pressure pont at that part of the touchscreen
so no other part is responding anymore and to make it worse....
The spot seems to get bigger and bigger and bigger.
It's now a spot of 2,5 cm length and about 1cm width.
I tryed multiple opties, letting it dry above a heater,
putting the phone on the other site, pushing the spot ect.
Nothing seems to word...
Does anybody has an idea how to fix that ??
the screen is dead., need a new lcd screen and digitizer., cheeper to by anther phone ,used one that works

Screen Calibration is Off

Hello all,
Awhile back the touchscreen on my Sprint TP2 (RHOD400) was off. I click in one spot, it clicks an inch high. Sometimes more, sometimes less..I tried calibrating, but I couldn't even click the center target once. The problem stopped for awhile, then started up again last week. This time the problem is worse. I press in one area, it presses one to two inches away. I have the phone in landscape mode and try to press the upper right hand corner 'x' and it brings up the notification window. Sometimes the lower right part of my screen is completely inaccessible, and I cannot send a text for quite awhile. Other times it is fine, but not fine to the point where I can get super accurate clicks. I was running Mr.X rom, and flashed to Mighty, but this did not solve the problem. I have also cleared storage. I used to run haret android for awhile, would this have caused any problems? I thought I should try that again since I can force the phone to use a calibration.txt file that works for sure, and see if the phone is "fixed" then. I guess my options are...
Try haret android again
task 29?
reflash?
be sad, it's a digitizer issue
(tldr) Touchscreen is off, but not always by the same amount. Reflashing wouldn't cure it and I can't calibrate it. Targets keep going around and around after the reflash, where before I couldn't get them to click even once.
Maybe one of those will fix my problem..I hope so, but I posted here to see if anyone else had heard of an intermittent touchscreen issue like this?
Thanks for reading/help guys.
Can a mod move this to http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=488 Touch pro 2/Tilt forum? I feel as if I posted it in the wrong forum and I'd get more responses in the other. Thanks!
Have you tried pressing the two volume buttons at the same time to get to that calibration screen. Then try to calibrate and see what happens. If this does not work for you then I would think its a hardware issue.

[Q] Touchscreen problem

Hello everyone. I have an old problem with my i9003's touchscreen. There i a part of my touchscreen that do not work. It affect me while while in some apps ore while texting because i can't press on "p". Below i made a picture. all that is in the right part of the screen after the green line is no working, neighter in landscape mode. I read over the internet and found that my screen culn't be calibrated corectly, but i don't know how to calibrate it. If you know a fix for this problem, please answer me.

[Q] Anyone else have an unresponsive touch screen, especially in games?

I first noticed this on a running game where you have to hold down either the left or right side of the screen to move in that direction. It would usually register the first press, but not that I had held my finger down so I wasnt moving properly. I thought this was due to the game it's self rather than my phone.
I've just downloaded Naugh where you have to rotate the screen by touching either side of the phone, and again the same issue. It's really unresponsive - It will recognise the tap but not that i've held it, it will stop working. Occasionaly this will also happen when scrolling a page.
Has anyone else experienced this? Or if not, any suggestions on figuring out whats wrong?
I have recorded a video that shows what I mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW2gCWpThWc

When you go to Settings>About phone - there is a Diagnostics section>Test device. You will see a list of tests you could do including touch screen.
I've tried this, thanks.
There is no aparrent issue using this diagnostic. It doesnt detect multi-touch though, which I find a little odd.
I did find this article though:
http://johnhaller.com/blog/2014-03-06--sony-xperia-z1-z1s-touch-screen-issue
Which seems to be the exact same issue I have on my Z3 now.

What do you mean? There are two options; one which shows dots where you are touching, and another which shows two lines for each point you touch; the lines cross at the point you are touching. They absolutely do detect multitouch, so if you're using more than 1 finger but only seeing one point, or one pair of lines, then you have a problem.
I only have one option under that test, which is to see a yelow line. It doesnt detect more than one touch at a time though.
I have downloaded a seperate screen testing app, and that detects up to ten points at once - again without any obvious issues with unresponsive.
I really can only reliably replicate the issue when playing games.
Mine does have a similarish issue.
Double tap doesn't work on first try when you last use the phone for some time.
But i think it is a software thing cause it worked fine when in continuous use.

In Settings, enable the Developer Options, then tick "show touches" and "pointer location".
I notice this issue all of the time in Ingress, however I have tried multi touch test apps and can easily get perfect tracking with 5 fingers on the screen, so I am sure the multitouch and display is working fine, and I have no problems with Google Maps or Waze where similar gestures to tap on things, and two fingers to rotate and shrink/enlarge are used.
I have no idea what is causing it, but it seems to be software rather than hardware.

I don't play games on the phone, but did try Modern Combat 3/4, which I have purchased long time ago, just to try them out. So I have played last night and have not had touch screen issues.
Yes I have noticed it, and it has at times been extremely frustrating, and 99% of the time I think part of my fingers holding the phone are touching the screen somewhere, each time I see this and adjust my grip the problem is not longer there. I think this also is partly related to the thread about ghost touches.

Yes exactly the same issue.
I agree I think it's software. Another strange thing is If I flip the phone around (So the headphone jack is now on the right, rather the left), and the game allows the screen to rotate, the issue goes away completely.
Such a strange bug.
Same thing here, and it happens very often. I ran all tests and it seems a software issue. Hope Sony solves it 'coz it's damn annoying.
Just discovered something else, in Ingress, it's always been dodgy with multitouch, however if I put the phone on the table or sofa and just touch the screen it's even worse.
Again using the same gestures in Google Maps it works fine.
I don't understand why not holding the phone would make a difference. I tried propping it up on the table to see if it was related to the angle, but still a lot worse when not holding it compared to holding it.
Never had it during games but during calls it kinda doesn't respond to touches properly.....weird.
I am facing too many issues with the Z3. First the camera quality, then the front bezel leaking light, then the 3G, now touch response. Duh!!! Should've bought the HTC M8 EYE.
No such issue for me so far at least.
Isn't the M8 Eye for China only?
I can't type for **** on my Z3 compared to my SIII. Taps don't register as quickly. Not sure what the heck is going on.
I can confirm that the latest firmware 23.0.1.A.5.73 released by Sony today, has fixed my issues with the responsiveness with the screen and games.
I hope I see that update soon. I can't wait to type quickly and double tap with no issues.
No issue with games but, typing is a chore, it keeps pressing the wrong keys like b for spacebar etc....

I've been noticing this lately as well when using the phone when it's on a flat surface.
Sometimes pulling the notification bar down can take a few times.
While play Ruzzle, it's nearly impossible to spell a word unless you pick the phone up.
Was thinking it might be the way it detects your finger, as I normally use the tip of my finger when it's flat, and my thumb when it's in my hand.

Change the movement to turn screen on....

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to change the movement that turn screen on...
Without movement that turn screen on I usually get 5 days of use (light use). With wrist movement that turns screen on I just get 2 days of Use.
The problem is that many times the display turns on with random movements that was not me trying to see the time... And even sometimes the display doesn't turn on with me trying to see the time.
I am guessing this mechanism is wrong by default. Instead to turn on with movement I believe it would be way better if the display turns on with the position.
The only time you get the display on stand position (home button to bottom and camera to top) is when you really turn your wrist to see the hour. This position of display stand (home button to bottom and camera to top) should be the trigger to turn on the screen and not the movement of the arm.
Does anyone have a clue of how to change this?
Tnx a lot any help.

Facing the same problem. There must be someone with an good idea..
Question: Do you wear your Gear on top of your wrist or on bottom? I've never had problems with wake-up gestures when I wore my watch on top of my wrist, but if I wear it underneath the screen comes on all the time and drains the battery in a few hours. I think it confuses the motion sensor.
Remember, when wake-up gestures are turned on the motion sensor is always on, which drains the battery much faster whether the screen is on or not (That's in the user manual).
yup. infact when i am using my PC my left hand is always from the keyboard to any other place the watch will keep going on and off (screen). this is frustrating and consumes battery. is there a solution?
