[Q] Backup SMS from Galaxy s and restore to Galaxy Note - General Questions and Answers

Hi all
First post in this forum I hope its in the right place.
As mentioned in the subject I bought new Galaxy Note and I would like to restore all my sms from old Galaxy S. I tried with Titanium Backup but nothing happend I get zero SMS in Galaxy Note..
Is there a way to do that because I google it and I couldnt find a way to so.
Thanks in advance....

Install GO sms on your galaxy s as it has a backup up feature, do the backup of all your texts then transfer the go sms file to your pc, then from your pc to your galaxy note. Then install GO sms on your note and go to the restore section of GO sms and all should be well. I did this when I went from my Moto Milestone to my Nexus S and it worked well.

Ok, I tried your method I backup sms in Galaxy s and I copied the file in PC then installed Go SMS in Galaxy note and then transfer the folder from PC to note. I tried to find option to restore backup of SMS but I only found restore settings,,,
How you did that?

(update)
I encounterd a problem after finish restoring. the sms application and sms go application crash whenever I try to open.
I think the Galaxy Note messeging storage structure not like Galaxy s.
Please guys help me with that

try sms backup & restore.

use go backup pro
:good:

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S II

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S II since about a week. It is rooted and Titanium Backup (paid version) is installed.
When I deleted an app I didn't want to keep I accidentally deleted the wrong one, something called BadgeProvider. Alas, I have found out that this system app makes it possible to send SMS (maybe more problems that I haven't found out yet) Without it, I can't .
I have tried to reinstall it from Titanium but that doesn't work. I have found the BadgeProvider.apk file on the Internet and trid to install it with several app installers but that doesn't work either.
I do need to send and receive SMS. How do I get a functional smartphone again?
I do badly need help
Thanks
Well, I would recommend you move the Titanium Backup File onto different storage, than factory reset the phone. If you've only had it a week I don't imagine you are going to lose too much, especially if you are already backed up. May take a little bit to re-root and restore and everything but, it's better than trial and error/waiting for a specific solution.

[Q] Back-up transfer

I have a samsung galaxy s2 and I am thinking of upgrading to a samsung galaxy s4. But I want to keep all the existing apps, data, messages, emails, etc... from the s2 to the s4, upon that the Rom itself. So is it possible to backup the s2 Rom then root the s4 and extract all the data from the backup onto the s4. Is that possible or will the firmware not allow it. So my question is "Is it possible to transfer a backup from a different phone onto an other phone?"

Hi,
I don't think you should do what you want, because it can cause a lot of problems, if you just transfer data between different Android versions.
However, I think you can synchronize almost everything to yout Google Account (contacts, emails, phone numbers, installed apps, maybe even the data for them), so these informations will not get lost.
The only exception is SMS, but that can be solved too: there is an app on Google Play that can do that for you. (Name is "SMS Backup & Restore" made by Ritesh Sahu)
You backup SMS messages to XML file, keep it somewhere (for example microSD card), and from the new software you install this app again, and simply restore your backup. If something fails, that is no problem, since messages will be in XML files, and you can even read them with a text editor, so they will not disappear
So my advice is: backup SMS messages, and sync every other. But remember to do these before you do anything that can erase these data (or before you want to take them to the new device).
Developers advise everyone not to backup app data and restore on a different version android because not only they cause application crash, they may also write the wrong lines in system paths ( sorry I've forgot the actual reason :silly: )
If you want a fresh install of your current ROM, it's ok to backup and restore everything
I normally go with Go Backup Pro cracked
Hi,
You have another app, called SMS Backup + by Jan Berkel.
With this app you can do the backups of SMS, Call Logs and Whatsapp in Gmail, each one in their respective folder. Then, if you have Outlook, these new mails can be downloaded to your PC (using filters). The backups can be done automatically.

[Q] Whatsapp on two devices

Hi all,
I have two Android devices, Galaxy Y and Galaxy Music. I need to open same whatsApp account on both devices. I have implemented below steps with reference of other threads. But I was fail.
I tried below steps but it asks account verification. Please let me know what was wrong in these steps.
1 - Taken backup of whatsapp (app + data) on source (rooted) device. (using Titanium backup).
2 - Send backup files to destination (rooted) device via blue-tooth . In Titanium backup folder.
3 - Uninstall whatsapp on destination device if already exists.
4 - Restored whatsapp on destination device using Titanium backup.
Please know me if something wrong.
Thank you very much,
Regards,
Urvil B
Since whatsapp gets updated regulary, i dont think it will be long lasting possible to have 2 whatsapp with same number in both devices. Suggest you to go with whatsapp+..

How to Use Titanium Backup on Android Phones

Mod Edit: Please do not copy content directly from other websites. Thanks!
I've got a new Xperia Z3 and I have 41,000 SMS on my previous phone. It is important for me to transfer this to my new Z3 for business.
I have tried the best SMS backup, SMSbackup & restore but it will take me weeks to restore all of my messages. Soooo slow
I also tried the method in titanium backup but I cant seem to have it work
I tried 2 methods already
1) backup the system data Messages (SMS & MMS)
2) backup to XML.
I dont see anything after the restore.
Please help

[Q] Titanium Backup - dropbox back up

Hi,
recently purchased the titanium backup pro.
I have 2 android devices that are using it
samsung tab s and a S6.
I noticed that both devices upload to the dropbox in a single location - dropbox/TitaniumBackup.
Will it cause any issues of files being overwritten as there will definitely be some overlapping apps that i got for both devices.
Or will the file name be individualized so that will not be any problems when i restore back ups.
Another thing is, i usually do a manual restoration of my backup to the sdcard , now that both backups are in a single location, how can i "correctly" seperate them so i can transfer the correct one back to my device?
Or is there a feature within titaniumbackup that im not knowing, which can help to directly restore the backup from the dropbox location?
Btw, im upgrading my Samsung Tab S OS kitkat to lollipop.
will my data backup be still valid for usuage?
