can anyone plz help me with my batterylife
I don't know which phone you're using.
If you rooted your phone then use cpu tuner or set CPU in which you can underclock your phone.so that you can set the cpu such that during screen off cpu will use less frequency..there are several profiles also..try it..and ask if you have any doubt...ok..you are always welcome

I have Faux clock and Setcpu installed on my phone, I use SetCPU for the widget and the profiles, while I use Faux clcok for GPU IO control and undervolting. Will having both controlling the cpu cause any battery problems or cpu problems? I have them set both to the same settings atleast for the screen on and screen off (these are the only settings that both apps have the same of) to avoid any problems.

its probably better to only have 1 cpu controlling app running at a time. if you want to undervolt and control the cpu speed i recommend system tuner. the user interface may scare you at first but just go to the tweaks icon at the bottom and set the cpu speed/profile and undervolt there. it will be all you need unless you really find it necessary to control the gpu, which i dont think is really necessary anyway
Hi what is the best app for overclocking the Xperia Play i have only rooted and have a locked bootloader if that helps
I personally like SetCPU. It lets you create profiles for apps, so you can have your cpu run at a higher speed when playing games etc.
SetCPU.
It's very flexible, intuitive and it let to create custom profiles (when is connected to USB, screen off, call or using a specified app)

Will Setcpu work on the stock kernel (2.3.4)?
Must boot loader unlocked for over clock.then install setcpu.

I think it will, but u can only set frequency between the factory values (~250-1000mhz). To go below or above you must install a custom kernel. I prefer Doomkernel, because you can set speed up to 2 ghz.
I would suggest loading DoomKernel, but first you need to have your bootloader unlocked.
hey guy,
have you tried "system tuner pro" yet ?
by that apk you can change CPU , tweaks , task manager , start up setting , SD booster ,....
please check that, that's realy useful
I use no-frills CPU
no problems here, and I think profiles are pointless since that's what governors are for.
Although I love Instigator's Kernel, I believe that it is time to move on from the aging kernel code.
I have started to use the stock kernel with the Paranoid Android by gs2usr, but I wanted more options to my cpu usage so I got set cpu.
Now my question is, will set cpu interfere with the performance settings originally in CM10? I have set the setcpu governor to the same gorvernor in the performance settings. The addition I have is the profile at certain battery points. Did anyone experience anything that caused the app and the CM10 settings to interfere each other causing even more waste in battery?? (like putting teo anivirus software on one computer? )

Best option is to stick to the performance setting built into Cm10 because it's had all the correct paths on how to adjust the kernel properly .
I don't use set CPU anymore I now use system.tuner pro as an alternate that's it

From what I've been reading the performance module in cm10/aokp is still a bit iffy, but I do agree with the system tuner pro recommendations
What are the methods to increasing your phone speed?
All I know is get a automatic task killer, and a CPU controlling app like SetCpu, which I own. But stop using....
Use an aosp rom
Change governor
Use a kernel that allows over clocking
Im on Lollipop rooted and cpu not sticking at all. I heard is because stock kernel doesnt allow. May i know any solution to this? Im using HTC One E8 m8Sx.
Solved- Partially
I discovered an app called "Multicore CPU Control" on Play Store which can select cpu frequency and governors and it actually stick. The governor i set it to interactive from ondemand which is the stock default and it shows up on CPU-Z, an app to check cpu speed, but not for no-frills cpu and setcpu. There is a free and pro version. The downside of free version is only able to tweak one single core. Pro version is needed for all 4 cores.
Edit: Multicore CPU Control doesn't stick after boot.

I guess it works only on rooted phones ??
Did you root your Lollipop ??

Ya, my phone is rooted. I also tried some other cpu apps. I tried CPU Performance Control and both the frequency and governor sticks but it doesnt apply on boot even though the selection is ticked. Then now im with C3 CPU Master which manages to get governor stick on boot but not the set frequency.

I doubt it will work with stock kernel... You will need a custom kernel...
Check in the Original Android Development thread of our phone and there are 2 kernel threads there...
Maybe you can try flashing one of those,, be sure to be able to flash stock kernel back again.....
And if not, then you can ask @DutchDanny to make a lollipop kernel for you if he can..
