I know there is the official dialer which supports recording in the call but it's removed during the update of the Rom. Is anyone interested to implement it into the cooked Rom? information can be provided later. (P.S. I tried to port it to AtrixBlaze v3 but it crashes ... )
asia's rom has this option. TW CN etc., even in 2.3.6

I wouldn't try it with the ME865, however the Indian MB865 is a lot less restricted than the AT&T MB865 and can be flashed to the AT&T. Atm we don't have a way to flash it, though. Someone was going to upload a CWM backup but we are awaiting that person to get a functional A2.
~If anyone with an Indian MB865 would like to upload the system.ext3.tar part of a 2.3.6 CWM backup, please by all means do so.

it's already confirmed the MB865 and ME865 (the system part) can be cross-flashed.

yes, but a little bug in dialer menu, and without 4G network(CN verson)
somebody has reported heat issue(slightly), due to the baseband maybe. so flash an Asian version to ATT phone is not a good idear.
also you can mod the filesystem to add this option. you can try the attached zip.(make a backup first, not yet confirmed, since i have already got this option)

I confirmed flashing this zip to Atrix Blaze v3 will crashes the dialer and network but I can't figure out the cause
Why AT&T disables many features such as: *#*#4636#*#*, sms delivery report, ...?
how to call recording on atrix 2? Is it possible?

check permition of the 3 files which provided by that zip.
.apk should be rwxr-xr-x. .so should be rw-r--r--

What I shall therefor do, is make some guesses here (sorry, I really wish I could just read a book about all this, but time time time, is so very precious, and I've got 5 kids!). Maybe a generous old sage will correct my flubs, wherever they may be, in what follows..
I'd presume that permissions of files change, once they are moved about. So, the above would be what one should see after the files are in their final resting place, on the phone, correct? And all 3 files should have this permission? hmm... well, I went to the Chinese forum mentioned above, and I have the files now.

NOTE: Please notice that I have devised a syntactical notation to refer to specific files by location in the folder/file/path structure. I'm not sure if this is ever used anywhere else, but it will keep us on the same page, if further discussion of these files (or their functions) arises later.
===============================================================
Without knowing anything at all about how CWM words, I will assume that the cryptographic certs and manifest stuff has to do with just allowing this to install. And that still leaves 2 files in the com\google\android path, but again, I think those have to do with update, as they both have update in the name (update-binary, and updater-script). So the real payload here, I would think it perhaps safe to assume, consists of 3 remaining files, namely, the 2 apks, and the \system\lib\libaudio.so
I will guess that so stands for 'shared object', and it's some kind of a C or C++ compiled class or something, that has some useful functionality built into it, and that much the same as an Android NDK, that the flashing process builds these apps back into our phone's operating system in a way that uses this functionality to circumvent the idiotic 'above the law' blocks placed on the slave-class by the proletariat.
Relationship of the Shared Object to Atrix2 Drivers?
Rather than begin a new thread for this question, I find it to be somewhat related to what we have already discussed in this one (and particularly, my last post concerning the components of the call recording package that I downloaded).
So, I sent an email to a senior developer regarding the possibility of actually recording phone calls (using line in, not just the mic) and this was his response:
(BTW, this person has actually created several apks in the past, which are selling like hot-cakes, and actually do work quite well, on other models of phones)
Hey Paul,
Unfortunately we can't help much here, the XDA guys certainly can as it would really depend on modified drivers for this particular device being available, and AFAIK, they're not.

wait for Cogeary's release, seems he's working on this.
he had given Asian's rom a shot, and MAYBE will release a modified one to all of us.
Cogeary posted the ROM capable of recording, and flashable via Clockword Mod (CM). Here is his Original Post (OP), with links to download the ROMS.
I posted HASH values, in several formats, plus actual filenames and file sizes, for all the downloads in the OP, here (in the same thread).
Does this not strike anyone else as being dangerously close to -if not completely- against the Federal Wiretapping Statutes...? Sure, anyone can record a conversation or phone call, but maybe at ones own peril? Each state has it's own laws regarding this I do believe and they vary from state to state. Just something to think about.

There's a new Official HTC Magic update located here:
http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=267&cat=2&dl_id=633
Here's the info on the page:
Improved Functions
1. Google Maps has been updated to version 3.1.1.
2. Setup Wizard has been updated to load all privacy policies and Google Terms of Service from the network.
3. Fixed Exchange Contact and Calendar synchronization issues. After editing contacts without a photo assigned, contact synchronization would fail. After editing calendar appointments and accepting changes using ‘enter’ calendar synchronization would fail.
4. Fixed authentication failure when manually setting up an Exchange server account.
5. Google security patch fix. For details, please refer to http://www.ocert.org/advisories/ocert-2009-011.html
Note:
* The update is available for the following regions:
Portugal- ROM version 1.19.410.1;
Nordic- ROM version 1.19.409.2
Could some one please make this available for download? You need a valid serial number to download it. I'd like to use it to update a custom rogers build for the G1/Dream. Thanks.
I sent you a link by PM, I'd post it here but it's on rapidshare limited to 10 downloads...
Thanks! I'm downloading it now. Hopefully it'll help get rid of a few annoying bugs in the Roger builds. Like stuck widgets, etc. I'll let you know how it turns out.
will this work with the 32b ?
Probably not, it has the HTC kernel so it probably won't boot on the 32B

Hi hotweiss,
It is noticeable. I left Virtudude's boot.img alone & simply updated all apk's, system frameworks, & a few libs, along w/ adding Cyanogen' Dalvik VM from Donut. Then I added some stuff from Soulife's Rogers Remix 2.9.2 rom. Only minor stuff there. There's no optimization on the apk's, or the frameworks. When I first flashed it, I didn't wipe first. All my apps were still in place, the only problem I had was I had re-create all my email accounts in the updated Mail app. Once I did that, everything was fine. While out working thru early morning hours @ a customer site & roaming on AT&T I also noticed a huge difference in the browser. I've been testing the rom over 16 hours now & I'm happy with it. It does what I set out to accomplish. It's a stable rom requested by some friends that didn't want apps pushed to the sd automatically & isn't themed. It might not be running the latest kernel & have all the new stuff added like other roms, but some people don't care for all that. Just providing another option I haven't looked at your latest version 1.11. How much of the update did you use? Curious. Take care.

The rom I updated using this update is for the T-Mobile G1 which was originally mod'ed by Virtudude, so I kept his boot.img. I only wanted the updated apk's/frameworks, etc. I didn't even look at the boot.img that came w/ this update sorry. 2.2.2? so this is a higher version than the korean one with the sms bug fix
wow 2.2.2
nice share
but this SBF is for ME525 (China Defy) or MB525?
i am afraid there's some different setting for different hardware that cause hardware fail like flashlight failure in china release flashed into MB525.

Unfortunately it is for ME525 ....
and I am also worried and really don't want to lose my flashlight ....
So if anyone experiment / try than please give some reviews about "Whats New in this".
This is a China Unicom version with some unicom apps, like US T-mobile version.
You can clean them after root
What's new?
bootanimation(red moto logo with blur)
add camera autofocus box
Scene mode/profile manager with meeting/home/office and other mode
new to be found....
keep us posted, thx.

yes, and i will be providing a CwM flashable zip.
edit:
here you go
http://mir.cr/1BIPHBJB
no sbf needed, this will flash boot/system from ME525_2.5.0 and bpsw/devtree from FR-164
patched build.prop and replaced hw/camera related files (also taken from FR-164)
other changes:
-most bloatware removed,
-replaced the bootanimation with xoom,
-english by default,
-fixed preinstall problem,
-and what i forgot.
note: i don't have signal problems but ymmv, you might need to replace your radio files.
here's a slightly modified Baseband switcher from [email protected], mostly traslated to English

from past experience, flashlight should be an easy fix.
you just need to have matching hardware, devtree and drivers.
unfortunately we didn't know this a few months ago until it was too
late, for some people as least.
doeas anybody have gapps zip for this firmware?
http://www.itfunz.com/thread-115182-1-1.html
here you can find something useful (mirror)
Could sombody upload to a mirror?
nandroid backup...?
btw if i'm rocking 1.11, i can just restore nandroid, and then gapps, no need to flash boot_only, right?

no there are no gms included, but there's an easy fix. you can just
use cm's pack or add it back yourself. it's not that hard.
anyone got brief report on this firmware?
comparison will be nice
Not sure about the details, but 2.2.2 is supposed to fix the random SMS recipient bug.

The original KitKat Bootloader files can be found here (these are from the first OTA to KitKat): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47411018&postcount=3
Please dont ask if you can dirty flash. You can do what you want. Make a nandroid BEFORE you flash, if it doesnt work out then just restore your nandroid and re-plot your method of flashing.
Please dont post anything other than this ROM specific related questions. This is not a general topic thread about KitKat. Its here to help users install the ROM and ask questions about ROM usage. Because odex is better, more efficient so you get a smoother feel.
De-Dodex is not as smooth as odex. Some devices you can see this better in. This device is pretty close. But if you want the best then you go Odex.

If your coming from another stock based ROM a wipe would not be needed.
If your coming from something like PA or CM then I would wipe because I dont know s**t about those ROMS

I think I found a bug in Googles code...
If you look real closely at that WiFi Icon in the status bar, the arrows dont show up when data is going in and out.
Is it just my old eyes or can anyone confirm?

Not true and not related to this specific ROM.

I just stated 5 posts ago if you coming from a stock base it would more than likely be fine.
You guys know how to make Nandroids, right? Back ups?
Its always best to do that, test what you want, if it doesnt work out, then restore your nandroid and you have lost nothing.

It's not a bug. It's a feature

I don't think that is a bug. It was mentioned as a "feature", along with the GPS not blinking anymore when searching.
The arrows got moved into the drag down status bar.
They seem to not really want you to know what is going on and whether you are online, when data is being sent/received, whether GPS is running, etc.

Thread Cleaning
Ok folks, the OP requested a thread cleaning.
So here's how it goes....
1) Thanks - Deleted as you have a "Thanks" button. Use it please. No reason creating a new post.
2) Slow downloads - This can happen anywhere. Try at a different time. No reason creating a new post.
3) Dirty Flash - Com'on folks, you take your chances when you dirty flash. For best results, always wipe.
Now, the above posts have been cleaned. I HAVE however, left some of the OP's replies so a touch of info has been saved.
Please, look at the info above, and in the OP BEFORE you post. The Rom is Stock, so there really shouldn't be a whole lot of questions, and most of those belong in the Q & A Forum.
Cheers
MD

Yep, but it is also in russian.
Sowwy for my bad english:
- Android updated to 7.1.1
- Latest security patch from Google
- Improved performance and stability
- Fixed some applications issues
Interesting. I'm quite sure this was meant for the Beta ZTE announced some time ago. Anyways, let us know how it runs.
Well, it works fine since update.
As i wrote - phone looks less responsive than B12 for me.
Battery lifetime looks same...
upd: now i feel that battery works some better.
Launcher looks same as before (4.2 MiFavor now).
Dual window mode supported now (bottom right button long press). Also notification settings button available now. AndroidPay included into settings menu and works even w/o installed application (idk if it was into B12). HiFi headphones button included into default music application near DolbyAtmos button. Also widget was changed.
As i know from 4pda forum one more man from RF got update too, but that's all. A lot of people still waiting for update there.
Some images (Idk how to correctly upload images here. Be carefull! This image hosting needs to be used with AdBlock only):
-------------
UPD: - Before this update DolbyAtmos used profile for current task (video, music, games...), now it uses only profile you selected.
- Screen auto-rotation become turned off after reboot.
I am getting the update now as well.

I got B2017GV1.2.0B09, so apparently the same build.
I can not confirm any performance issues though. The system runs perfectly fine.
(It feels a bit snappier to me actually, but I can't back that up with actual data.)
Security update is from June 1st.

I think the UK version isn't a standard build. We have a MR version (Merchant Release). It's a company specific distro release and seems to be alien to the rest of all standard update releases. We seem to have been forgotten by ZTE, we didn't get the chance to purchase a full AXON 7 and we seem to get the dregs from the company. And, to top it all off, our customer services is akin to a dam ghost. Useless is a kind word.
