Change the APN's?

i only run into this issue once something happens when I go from wifi to data sometimes it sticks. MX superlight gb rom.. only happens sometimes

have you tried using a alternative browser such as dolphin browser, im on same rom and only use dolphin, give it a shot maybe its just the stock browser acting up.
EDIT: sorry im on superlite ics 4.4 missed you saying gb

Yeah apn looks right and I still don't get any data at all no signal for internet. Just voice service.

Which RADIO??? i didnt see any radio to flash

When I've had this issue either reflashing the ROM again or altering the apn settings usually works. However,a couple of the 2.3.6 roms did have issues like data suddenly not working after three or for days of doing fine.
Sent from a payphone at the quick-e-mart down the street from you

so i flashed the radio and it still did noting. the internet is still not working at all.
What should i do???????????

total wipe and reflash man from scratch. Use a back up and restore. Maybe your downloads of the roms are somehow corrupted. Delete them just to be sure and re download. Just trying to think of any little odd thing that would cause this to keep happening.

If I already put the CM version on by using the defanged 1.6 first do I have to do that again or can I just do a wipe then super D rom?

I belive you can flash right over as long as your not heavily themed but havent tried yet. The good thing about these is one of the main reasons for wiping before was kernel issues... Now since we have to use the same kernel it should flash over fine but you may get FC for apps
Great job!
This was very slow at first but got very fast once I had rebooted once or twice.
Market shows protected apps just fine in this.

Wind Users and MIUI!

Hello fellow Wind Mobile users,
Is anyone here using MIUI? If so, would you be kind enough to post your /system/etc/apns-conf.xml file?
Also, does mms AND data work for you guys? I'm having a hard time getting it working..
I can get you the cm 7 one if you want. Mms working great here. Data too. Almost 6mbps dl and 2 up.

That'd be awesome! I'll try flashing the CM7 one onto MIUI. Should work just fine since MIUI is based on CM7.
Thank you !!

Thank you! Unfortunately it didn't work
There must be some huge issue with MIUI and Wind, I'm trying the new Dev's port of it now, hopefully this one works!
Works for me
I'm using version 1.11.4 miui port by Whitehawkx and data works great! Only issue i have is it keeps going in to airplane mode randomly and staying there only fix is reboot. Very annoying. But do tell if you can get data to work on the optimized one available on these forums!
Using same version as epicsquare and data working great.

Do you have the airplane mode thing too? Where it randomly goes in to airplane mode, and you can't turn it off except to restart it?
No issues with airplane mode for me but i remember some users in his Rootzwiki thread talking about problems like that. Cant remember if it was the same issue as you thou.

Here's a pdf with some info on how to configure all the settings. You might already have everything setup correctly but i thought it might be worth a look.

barqers, how did you get data to work?
i checked doublechecked apn settings, entered my own ones, reset to default apn - went to airplaine mode and back.
5 bars reception - no data

I noticed you updated your baseband. maybe this is the cause of the airplane glitch? can you point me in the right direction of a baseband update guide compatible with wind?

Yeah I've seen T-Mobile users using that one no problem. But then for some reason Wind users are having difficulty with it. I think there might be an internal setting making it specific to T-Mobile users. Not 100% sure though.

Yeah I was looking at those a long time ago. Thing is, I had it set up and working fine on Weapon G2X, but then as soon as I go to MIUI it doesn't work.

Basically what I did was flash Weapon G2X, grab the /system/etc/apns-conf.xml file, install MIUI, replace the apns-conf.xml file with the one from Weapon G2X, reboot, reset to factory defaults, then when I rebooted it had the apns setup.

I used the same guide as sunster and it worked
For Canadian Wind Mobile users on the latest MIUI version, if your APN exists but no data connection, please set the authentication of your APN to "None" explicitly to have a try.

showing up as baseband unknown, no signal what so ever
ok try activating the lte bands
*#2263#
without sim in
also i will re rip again just to make sure
lastly
and if it still doesnt work the script needs to be changed
bc samsung made the changes in the bootloader (may or may not effect functionality)
Same issues as stated above. Im guessing that maybe its incompatible with old bootloader? Also i am unable to save an APN.
I am just going to wait for you to release your rom!

Also failure on AOKP. Reseting to default APN has no effect. Also unable to save an APN.
Clearing of cache/d.cache before and after zero effect.
try it now
fixed an working
Ok so woke up this morning and I just tried wiping system, cache again 10x and flashed and it stuck and finally worked! Not sure why haha but success (with the first download)

Flashed it on my existing Sky 4.2D-10 with no issues (cleared cache/dalvik 1x first). No obvious change in signal strength based on bars (is there a more in-depth method to test my signal quality?).

Thanks! I tried that one, but it didn't seem to work. Tried OpenSignalMaps instead. FWIW, over about 5 mins of testing each, I found that UCLD2 was ~5dBm stronger than UCLE2 on HSPA+, but that's an admittedly small sample.

[Q] XBSAVX3D - No connection with wifi

I am on xbsalls XBSAVX3D custom rom and when i try and use wifi everything connects properly, but when i try and use it at all it says its not connected at all, ive had this problem with the 28b rom too, im fine with stock rom though. Any help is appreciated
I'm on XBSAVX3D as well but my wifi is working fine as I'm answering you right now with it I did have an issue earlier that I was watching youtube on data and then connected to wifi later...said no network connection. No idea why but a simple reboot fixed for me. Hope it helped. Also I'm running a different kernel with unlocked bootloaders instead of the stock kernel that came with the rom. No idea if that makes any difference or not.

Lol i dont have data so wifi is my only option haha and rebooting doesnt help and im using unlocked bootloaders and ive tried iodaks kernel and Pesach85s kernel each with the same result
Sorry my bad I totally got backwards on that. If you are in the US like me, did you alter the build.prop target country from EU to US and flash the V30B baseband followed by a factory reset? If so have you tried to flash V28B baseband instead? If those options don't work my friend I'm clueless.

[Q] Data, MMS, Wifi issues

I would first like to say I'm pretty competent in reading instructions and the "how to's"
But recently every time I flash a rom, my mms stops working either right after a flash or up to a day later.
Also the wifi and data don't seem to stay connected, they just randomly drop.
This goes for any rom I flash, any help or ideas would be awesome.
Laz
I'm not too expert on these topic but I would say it has to do with the radios, since you're having problems with data, wifi and MMS.

I did a full restore and wiped everything possible, then went through the motions again. If I stay on a 4.1.2 rom, it doesn't seem to effect it at all, but once I flash 4.2.2 or higher is when it starts happening again. I guess this is what I signed up for once I started flashing lol

Have not tried that one, have you tried CM or Liquid Smooth? Just to see if the problem depends on the rom, and not the Android version.

Stick to 4.1.2 Roms, I respect all the work the devs do on newer versions but am more than content on this one.
