I just sold my Vibrant and bought a Nexus S and was wondering if there was another app like Allshare that I could use to stream movies from my PC to my phone.
I really like Allshare cause whenever my wife insisted on watching f'ing Jersey Shore I could allways bust out my phone and choose a movie from my library without have to get off the couch to upload it to my phone.

I'm not sure if we have the DLNA capabilities...I'll look around and see.

Swifta would work great if it would play different types of video files.

So we do have DLNA? I searched around and I couldn't find a definite answer.
Damn I was going to buy the nexus s but I use allshare all the time. Especially when family comes over. I stream the photos and hd home videos to my tv.
Do you think if I took the vibrant version and used it on the nexus it would work?
Dlna needed of course.

Twonky works for me, I stream to my ps3 and the nexus s does have dlna.

iMediaShare brings DLNA capabilities on any Android phone including Nexus S. In addition it also enable playback of online videos as well as sharing personal photos from Facebook and Picasa.
Hmmm.
I tried searching for imediashare (and scanning the QR codes that are on their website) but it's not showing up in my Market....must be a protected app or something.
Oh well.
Damn it. Maybe I could get the imedia apk found some where.

I read on another thread that the Allshare app on the Vibrant is tied into its framework and would have to be modified to work.

Last post is December, so did you guys find a way or did everyone settle with Twonky, Skifta and iMediaShare?
You can stream video with Gmote.
Although the dlna works fine I really wanted the AllShare app to control the TV, anyone know how to get it on the Nexus S or at least why can't we?!
Is there an OS version issue, cause I have downloaded like 3 AllShare apk but none works.
I`m currently using the 2.3.4 version.
Thanks in advance,

Hi guys,
I am in Australia, and I have a HTC Mozart and I am confused why I can't download certain apps from the marketplace. 2 Apps in particular
NBA Gametime
Amazon
Any help would be appreciated

Probably because Amazon for instance is not supported in your country.
The same for me in Poland, I can't download Amazon.
Even if you could download Amazon the app only has US items and prices, some apps are region lock. You can't download Netflix either for instance. Amazon said they will release a UK app some day so hopefully they can do one for every country they have an official website.

Also, if the files are bigger than 20mb (I think) then you have to be connected to a computer and download them via Zune software.

Hi Guys!
Just thought I'd point out, the ir works with the Samsung TiVo by Virgin Media!
I read a review that said it doesn't and neither does the HTC One.
Very pleased I can control TV and TiVo now

Watchon really is a great app , it only took me a few minutes to set up two tv's and two sky boxes and it all works very well .

If you're talking about TiVo, select Virgin Media in the brand.
It works a treat plus its awesome that you can put the remote widget in the lock screen so you don't even need to unlock the phone to change channels

Is the Samsung tivo box a newer box then? Because I have a Virgin media tivo box and it's a Cisco one.

Tbh I'm not sure...
I got mine installed about 2 weeks ago and it was Samsung, that's why I was surprised when the review I read said it didn't work. Bet they chose TiVo rather than Virgin Media.

Does the App have learning capabilities or just the device list from Sammy?
As I know NO learning capabilities...now trying to find out if its only SW problem (stupid sammys apk) or HW is only IR transmitter not receiver...somebody?
I wonder if the camera could be used to capture the IR codes. If it's refresh rate is high enough. Otherwise some low-volume devices would need them hardcoded somehow.

Hi. Has anybody had any success controlling the cisco virgin media tivo box with watch on and the galaxy s4. Lg tv is sorted but struggling to get my set top cable box to work. Regards. Jim

I too have been unable to get my Virgin Media Cisco CT8620 Tivo box to work with WatchOn. I've tried the "Virgin Media", "Cisco" and "Tivo" options that it offers, trying the next code in each when prompted, but with no luck.
I filled out the contact box with details of the model information at the end when prompted, but I've no idea how long I'll have to wait for them to add support for this box.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I have this working on Cisco VM TiVo.
I selected cisco as the box manufacturer on setting it up. Make sure you have the latest watch on installed from play store.

I'm looking for an app or website that will allow me to stream the World Cup to my phone. I'm running 4.4.3
Any ideas?
No ideas since I don't know what country you're in...

UK. The official ITV and BBC apps are atrocious. ITV just wants to serve me up about 15mins of ads before allowing me to watch anything. The BBC app is just a joke.
TV catch up, although it was pretty overloaded last world cup. Maybe it's better now though

I've also found http://www.vipboxuk.co/sports/football.html
It requires Flash. which can be had from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/p2tp0h8xy8o7f86/KitKat.Adobe.Flash.Player.11.1.apk
And then install Dolphin Browser, and enable 'Desktop' user agent and 'Web content - Flash Player always on' in the settings.
This is working fine for me.
Someone else also suggest www.tvcatchup.com
Think I'm sorted with a few options now, cheers rootSU
Ah I have the dolphin / flash set up already. Good to have a couple of options, thanks
There's an app for TV catch up now.
