One X or Rezound? - General Questions and Answers

I Really want to get a new HTC phone so i could get rid of my blackberry. I used to have a touchpro 2 and loved it!
so ive been researching both the rezound and one X but i can't come to a conclusion of which one to get... just looking for some opinions.
Thanks

(You are on the One X forum, people will ALWAYS say that you should buy the One X)
Anyway, the Rezound is a phone from last year (not even the best one). The HTC is currently the best phone on the market equipped with enouf hardware to last the next 1-2 years without a problem!
I'd go for the One X unless money is really the issue, then go for the Rezound. But if not : One X all the way.

I've also posted this on the rezound found and there are mixed reviews(some say one x and other say rezound) so it doesn't really matter where i post

Sorry but such threads belong in the General General forum.
Cheers

i got my htc one x today and what a phone you wouldnt be disapointed if you got one

How can you even compare the two. One works for cdma, one doesnt..

Depends on your carrier, If verizon, rezound, if not A one X variant. Rezound could still hold its own today and probably will for a while. But that one X is sexyy

One X or S3 or stick with my XE

Im on my 1st Android a Sensation XE coming from iPhones and have to say loving it.
I'm now thinking even though only had my XE for 6 months, on the One X. Worried a little though on the battery life and non replaceable, I am a heavy user.
Also now the S3 is announced and is nigh on the same physical size and wondering on people who have a One X what would they do if now had choice?
Cheers

I love my One X. The S3 is going to be an awesome phone too. If you like HTC (and it looks like you do) you can't go wrong with grabbing a One X. Although, if I knew what I know now about multiple nexus devices, I might have waited to grab one of those. Really, if you're going for a high end android phone from 2012 I don't know that you really can go wrong.

search research read and make your own mind up. that is how you going to know if the phone is for you. you might think i am joking but i am being serious..and not being horrible it is true..search and you will find loads of threads asking the same question as you what phone is the best. google is your friend..good luck and hope you all the best whatever you decide....but if you like Nexus phones then wait till october when the new one gets released
All depends on whether you like sense or touchwiz. Easiest way to find out is to go to retail shop and try before you buy.

the very best way is to buy both and sell the one that you dnt like if you have the money, of course
and the best way is to use google and research like the guy above says, because you ask this question in the OneX threads and everybody who have a OneX loves it ... and i love it too ... some issues are still there to be honest, but with the next OTA it will all be perfect.
I personally feel that HTC one X has a more beautiful design than S3. S3 is not ugly but to me is definitely not a beauty. However, there are some crucial things that S3 has but HTC one X doesn't have which is removable battery and a SD card slot.
Hence my advice to you is know what your preferences is whether is a hardware design or having a removable battery. Then make your decision
Batterywise, The One X, with older 1.28 firmware is better than my old Sensation was even when using the XE battery.
Thanks for replies.
I can't say I prefer HTC sense over touchwiz as never used touchwiz, I've tried it for 2mins in a shop once.
I think I prefer the look of the One X, but the removable battery tempting, do you think the One X will get any of the software features of S3? eg the smart screen stay on thing etc?
The One X I would probably buy if its a bit cheaper which it is at mo,.probably about £350, whereas S3 is going to be £500 or £34/month.....
If you must upgrade, I'd go for the SGS3. But if you can wait, I would. The Sensation XE can pretty much do anything the other two can, albeit a little slower. But who cares?

[Q] Is going for a HTC One X a good choice right now?

Hello,
I've been waiting to upgrade from my HTC Desire (yes, I know, any phone now will be an upgrade from the Desire). I live in Japan and we usually dont all the good Android phones that makes it to stateside. We do have GS2 and Gs3 is coming, but there is no HTC One X. Despite One X being the flagship HTC phone, carrier KDDI decided to get only HTC One S, and even that they modified the hell out of it.
I only have the choice of GS3 and One X, which I'll be buying an international version, not through a carrier. I had set my mind on the One X, as performance wise they are similar, and and I love the One X build over the GS3 plastic frame. There's no denying that One X is a sexy phone.
Sorry for the irrelevant details.
Right now, I'm really worried about getting the One X because:
1) Multitasking issue
2) Wifi issue
3) Battery overheating
I will not be using 3G data on this so Wifi is very important to me. And I would consider One X removing apps from cache is a big problem. I usually switch back and forth between apps quite often.
So my question is, although there are some workarounds for multitasking issue, given other issues, would you recommend getting this phone right now? Or should I wait out a bit more? Or go for GS3 because these issues are just too serious? Or will there be a custom ROM coming out soon so I can just flash.
Please help me with your opinions.
Thank you.
Go for S3.
I have the Evo LTE (Sprint), and if it is anything like It's one x cousin, I'd go for it. But I am partial to HTC devices.
You won't be disappointed either way I'm sure.

Thinking about getting a nexus 4, Anyone else with me?

I really, really want the nexus 4 and I could sell my HTC One X on craigslist and get around $300 for it. Is anyone else doing this as well or am I just stupid and should I keep my HTC one x?
I will be jumping to the nexus for sure... After I see how early adopters fare with it.
After getting the one X I swore I would never buy another non-nexus phone. Granted the hardware on the nexus phones normally isn't the top of the line, but I never felt locked down in any way with the nexus phones. Want an unlocked bootloader, one simple command in adb and she is unlocked.
Also since there is only going to be one model all developers will be creating roms and kernels for just that nexus. No 4G models, or models with different processors, gpus, ect ect.
From what I have seen the specs will be good enough for me, as long as the battery life is as good as the one X and there are no production problems I will be grabbing one right away.

Yeah I forgot about the one model thing. I don't like how they're 2 models of the HTC One X and like 6 models of phones like the SGS3. I wish they wouldn't do that.
Let's please keep the posts in the One X section about the One X. Thanks!

[Q] Would the AT&T HTC One X be the best buy?

So I am looking to get a new phone through AT&T and I was looking into either the HTC One X or the SGSIIS. I've never had an HTC phone, but my husband has and he said for what I want out of the phone it would be a good choice for me. He has a SGSIIS and I really like that phone too. So I want some opinions on some experiences with these phones. Please and thank you.

I love my HTC one x, and the screen is so clear and phenomenal. If you are looking to root then a variety of roms are available on these forums both are pretty good phones. Also if you are a workout freak like me then the HTC One X produces great sound quality through headphones and it's speakers with beats audio. Although htc one x has a non removable battery and no sd card slot. But 4 to 5 hours on screen time and 10 hours of power is fine by me. I think the battery is pretty good. Plus there is an array of roms in these forums and you can get longer battery. But if you bought the HTC One X + that one has 64 gb's of memory and a 2100MAH battery and is 65 percent faster processor. But If not the HTC One xl is still a great choice. Test both out in the store and see which one you like better.
P. S. Remember to post in question and answers thread next time. I guess they moved it.

If I had to buy a phone from AT&T at this moment, I would get the HTC One X+ (notice the '+') or the Galaxy Note 2.

Well, I can't afford either of those phones. That's why I asked about the One X and SGSIIS. Either way we have it figured out now. Radioshack has a deal on buying the SGSIII and getting a SGSIIS for free. Plus the One X requires a micro sim, which I can't get.

Actually AT&T got a deal for HOXL on Thanksgiving for 99 cents with contract, maybe you can wait a little bit to see Christmas deals.

Well if you're not getting a microsim I guess congrats on your new purchase of an SGSIIS... I've heard nothing but bad things about that phone.

You should have no problem getting a MicroSIM if your new phone needs one. Either from the place that sells the phone (they should have them for new customers) or at any AT&T store. I've never been charged for a new SIM. A few times phone support sent me to the store for a new SIM to resolve an issue. Plus, depending on what type of SIM you have you may need a new one for a LTE enabled phone, even if you don't have LTE.

Why can't you get a microsim? Are you buying off contract and planning to use it on some budget carrier?
You realize you can cut down a regular sim card and use it in a microsim tray, don't you?

[Q] Should I buy a HTC one X?

I'm looking for an Android phone with a good camera and it seems HTC One X fits my budget ($250). I read that HTC One camera develops purple fringes. Is that true for One X too? Please advise if it's still worthy buying HTC One X or if you have other suggestions please let me know.
Are you wanting the HTC One X or the HTC One XL / at&t One X? You're asking in the HTC One XL / at&t One X forum. The camera on this phone is fine, I've never had a problem with it.

It's going to be mostly AT&T HTC One X. That's what I find being sold in Ebay. That said I was assuming that there should not be much difference between the AT&T version and the other versions of One X. I could be wrong.
They look similar but they're entirely different on the inside. But you're in the right place for the at&t version. In my opinion it's the better phone; far superior development if you're looking to unlock/root it, the Qualcomm chip doesn't heat up nearly as much as the chip in the international One X, and if course it's LTE too.

That said, it's an older phone (as phone development cycles go) that's not getting the newest Android, so... you know, as long as you're OK with that.
Just to be clear, it may not be getting the latest Android via an official update but I'm currently running 4.4.2 thanks to our developers. Just saying it won't get the latest version might be a bit misleading.

Hoxl for me has been awesome. Its time for me to upgrade devices but I enjoy my hoxl so much I'm actually pretty content with it. Curious to see if hTC will survive its money issues and possibly create a curve version

No. I hate this phone. The battery lasts too damn long and the 4G is too fast.

I'm sure you can find Moto X's around 250 on Craigslist or eBay? There is that Monday Sale (300$) coming up as well.
Outside of that, One X is an okay choice. It would be better if you wait though. We're probably only 2 months from HTC introducing their next phone and that could probably drive HTC One prices to 250.

What ROM are you using?
I'm strongly considering buying the Moto X tomorrow, but if I can get good battery life with this phone, I'll gladly pass.
I'm on cm11 w/stock gapps.. If you use 4G exclusively you'll get roughly 8 hours. Its hard to tell from this shot but standby is amazing.

Moto X is strong piece of hardware.. I haven't checked out the x forums but the the moto Atrix had excellent Dev support.
Just don't expect much from Motorola.. And for that reason alone I can't recommend the x.
