[Q] Gingerbread 2.3 keyboard

there are reports that gingerbread keyboard can be ported to rooted froyo users. Anybody try it for our Gtablets yet?
Yeah, I got it working. Like with other devices the spell check doesn't work. However, I do like it better than the TapNTap keyboard, but not better than swype.

sorry to sound super noob, but uh.. where does one place the odex file? does one install the apk via adb? or simiply push it to /system/app? and does it still need other htc sense framework or can might it work on my mytouch4g (not slide) running cm 7.1?

Try either pushing it, or installing it with root explorer or any other installed.

it will not work on AOSP/CM roms unfortunately. a lot of the functionality is embedded within Sense. I have not done any digging on how to port this camera app so I won't be much help here... sorry.
Hey, what's the worst that could happen if I tried installing this on a MT3G slide running CM7?
Thanks!

haha, yea I guess the bad outweighs the good. I'm just sick of the stock camera app with CM7. Looks like I won't be attempting anything.
Can someone post the deodex'd version of HTCCamera? I'm looking to use the MT4G source to help me make some improvements to the EVO 3D. From what I've read the MT4G supports HDR and Burst out of the box. Can somebody confirm this for me? Thanks.
EDIT: Never mind, I just pulled it from a ROM.
how do i get the apk to work on my inspire 4g,its on sense 3.0 2.3.4
You need to port it to the inspire. Cant help you sense I dont have that phone.

You need to manually use root explorer and replace the existing htccamera.apk file in the system/app folder and change the permissions to whatever the original camera apk was and it should work for you. Sometimes it'll start fc'ing so make sure you do a NANdroid first!
I just managed to get most of the camera settings back on my mt4gs running CM 10 based Xenon port. I tried install (RB), but nothing... finally I hit extract (RB), and suddenly my camera is actually usable... I'm not sure how? But w/e it works now....

[ROM][deodexed][leak][beta]I997UCKI3

this is the UCKI3 leak deodexed and packaged with entropy's daily driver kernel.
it is CWM flashable for all to try but it is my first deodex and this is a test build from samsung so expect issues.
the kernel from the odin package gives me unreliable cell connections. i will post it later for those that want hdmi and i hope others experience with it is different.
there will be more to come on this, i need to come up with a good rom name then the debloating and stock app modding can begin. i plan to atleast remove the battery full notification, theme the launcher (because atleast in froyo the launcher needed to suport hdmi so im not sure i can just use gtg's great launcher) theme the notification bar and who knows what else.
when att releases it officially i will certainly move on to that as a base.
the link is below
flash me if you are brave
edit:
the known issues are that
-entropy's kernel and hellraiser dont seem to like my dock or car dock , no audio over usb (this is not unique to this rom on my phone)
-crazy rainbows if you use the stock kernel (not packaged with the rom for the reason that the incomplatible bootloaders bork recovery, if you are used to using odin you probably dont need this rom as it is still basically stock)
edit:
hdmi supported kernel is now attached. warning! this has no recovery! let the media scanner run before opening the camera or previews will be rainbows.
edit:
-the cell connection with the att kernel can be unreliable but it "seems" to be better if you shut down the phone in flight mode and restart.
-the email app is broke. im not working on a fix yet.
-wifi doesnt work with a rogers based kernel
this whole thing is a learning experience for me. i'm certainly not a gtg or linuxbozo. far from it infact.

You can always pull the modem.bin from the ZIP, and push it to your phone manually, although I don't remember where it goes, someone else will probably say it.
That's what I'll do when I get home, back to my Infuse (took my Inspire to school today so that my friend can play with it, lol).

[Q] HTC Keyboard on google ICS

Hello.
I've tried the Virtous Inquisition rom and i really like it. However i cannot live without the HTC Cellphone Keyboard. Is there any way to get it on there?
Isn't the Virtous Inquisition-ROM a De-Sensed Sense-ROM? If that's the case it should be possible to copy the HTC_IME.apk into your \system\app-Folder (including setting the permissions correctly!) to be able to use it.
I have not tried this myself, so I can't guarantee that this will work. You should do a backup before, too. Maybe there are other files, that need to be replaced, but unfortunately I can't help you with that.
I pushed HTC_IME.apk to system/app and I had no issues using it.
What APK do I need to push to get the swype type text working?

Anyone Interested

Hello my name is Master&Slave over from the Tmobile Galaxy S II Community and im just wondering if anyone would like to port my ROMs over to the SKYROCKET
I know you can just flash with the conversion package thing in which I have never tried but it may perform better from a complete port.
Here they are Tuesday & Paradox II.
I do my own themes so if you want to port without my theme on it, feel free I dont mind at all, just trying to offer more ROM choices.
Cheers
I'm curious on what your "themed aosp messaging" looks like. Can I get a screencap of that? I might steal the apk for it...
I think you're stuff looks real good you should hit up silver wrx, or mod1441 is love to see what you guys cook up

Definitely would be nice if someone could port these over. I've run different 989 roms for weeks at a time, they're basically fully functional yet not the same as device specific. I for one appreciate the offer M&S, always wondered why more devs haven't "cross ported" in order to further expand your portfolios.

Don't own the device, technically I do with the Tmo version but you know what I mean. Never flashed a SkyRocket ROM ever nor looked at the framework or internal files.
Should I just put these in the Dev section here? Since you guys can just flash with the conversation package?

As far as i know the only hardware difference is in the physical mounting of the accelerometer.

If you use 727 rom as a base you can get rid of the heavily reported "2d lag" noted so often in 989 forums. (just a thought)
