Blackberry qualify "Smoked by Windows Phone challenge?" - General Questions and Answers

Does anyone know if Blackberry 8707v qualify for Microsoft's Smoked by Windows Phone contest? The rule mentioned "smartphone" but I am not sure if this model fall into this category?
It has 2G/3G connection (no WLAN), email, instant messenger plus a web broswer. Do I need to install any App before going to the contest?
Basically, I am looking foward to get smoked and trade in this sucker for new WP phone

Phone should have Wifi for WP challenge
I did participate in the challenge with a Nokia E63 and it does have a Wifi.
I was aware that phone should have Wifi. I did confirm that a day back before participating. There was a person in line behind me who was planning to participate with a LG Vu(no wifi) and I told him to check with store employees and he did check. He had to leave as they didn't allow him to participate.

SquareTrade?

I've read several forums regarding square trade and people's opinion about whether or not to use them or stick with carrier insurance.....my question is different and can't seem to find any discussion on experience with this:
I notice that for my phone(GS2 Skyrocket), it's $124/2yr and a $99 deductible..but I see that they do not provide replacement phones, like carriers do, which is fine, I hate refurbs. What they state that they will do is cover replacement cost.
Now I spoke with two reps and got two answers. My question is, I send them a copy of my invoice(receipt), which shows that I payed .01 (yes that's a penny) for my phone....in the event of a claim, are they going to send me a check for $600 minus deduct. or send me a check for purchase price minus deduct???
Has anyone had experience with getting replacement money from them?
This seems like a no-brainer question but we all know how insurance companys can be.
Again, I apologize and don't want moderator's coming unglued if this has been discussed, but I couldn't find it.........Thanks.

should I get the N9?

I can get the N9 on the cheap $29 plan here in Australia, but I am not too sure about the future of Meego, should I get this phone for the sake of this phone and assume Meego is dead, or will Meego have a future and I will be reward with N10?
go for it..its very smooth and stable..i tried it myself...and on the other hand there will be android apps on meego so they say.

I think MeeGo hasn't got any future and it's a dead platform right now.
As I watched couple some videos, it's not stable. Many of the apps don't work normally, e.g. maps. Sometimes, the app crashes.

May be there's a small chance that Android will be ported to N9
Save your money.
But it's only my opinion. It's for you to decide.

[Q] Installing a different OS on ZTE Score

Is there a way to install Windows CE, mobile or phone on this phone? The phone is a ZTE Score (Cricket) and runs Android 2.3. I have another phone I use mostly and I do not care if I lose the ability to make phone calls. I just wanted the GPS and WiFi, I bought this for $29.99 and it would not be too much of a loss if I bricked it although I would prefer not to. I mostly want a plain Windows OS. Can someone help me out?

What droid for tethering data?

Basically i have a Samsung 10.1 Slate, it doesn't support 3G so my plan is to use a droid smart phone to grab data and tether it to my slate.
Given the above, cheapest yet most effective droid to pick? Must be cheap as possible! Need the quickest speeds i can get. Thanks
What country are you in? (Different devices on different providers offer different functionality.)
Sorry i'm in the United Kingdom.
The tablet is a galaxy tablet 10.1
I imagine tethering data through bluetooth would be the best option ?
Just need a phone that can process data quick, suggestions ?
Thanks
Really all of them can. Even an old WinMo phone can. Either it be built into the OS or an app like http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/
Rooted and installed that onto my gf's samsung tranform. A pos phone on boost mobile. She uses it for internet on her laptop.
