[Req] HTC Sense 4.0 Launcher - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

Probably a longshot.. but maybe we could get a heavy themed Rosie 3.5 or maybe.. the sense 4.0 Rosie?
I'm using a Beta 3.5, already got the clock, transparent status bar but it would be nice to have a themed app drawer and dock.
Out of curiosity, is it possible to use the sense 4.0 Rosie on the 3.5? I'm guessing no because of the ics mix, but it would be awesome.

There isn't exactly a super heavy themed Rosie. But with the new Sense 3.5 ROM, Clutch, it has the sense 4.0 bottom bar which is rather nice and it has the sense 4.0 drop down notification bar.

It's what I'm running, guess I should redownload the new version.
Thanks for the notice though.

+1 on this launcher port please. the sense 4.0/ICS launcher looks sweet.
The one in clutch is basically just the old rosie but nice looking. It only has the 3 functions and is remappable.
Ive been using the Xperia launcher and its great but the customization is lacking. All it really needs is custom app icons

It's what I'm sporting, there's plenty of Themed sense 4.0 for certain launchers.. but there not what makes sense a sense.
If its even possible, maybe a custom ICS Launcher for ICS with some sense mixed? If I knew about roms and apks and dev tools I'd definitely dip my hands in this.
At first I didn't really care for sense 4.0 but after I got to looking at the UI, it really is a nice piece of work. Really hope something can give us a close experience.

I'm not a rom dev but I think you'd need sense 4 framework to run a real sense 4.0 launcher. We need joelz and newt and nils back, lol.

Yeah, its pretty much like ics. It would need to be reworked from the ground up, PhoenixLauncher a new-ish ICS launcher for GB&ICS has dock options etc. Not highly customizable but better then Syndicates project.
Agreed 100%, miss them.

And I forgot incubus26j and wildstang83 and jermaine151. and Ihtfp69 which have all left this phone a while agao.
Also regarding the launcher. As it's from Sense 4.0 which is ICS only I'd expect you can only run it on sense 4.0. Possibly 3.6 which is also ICS.

I didn't run incubus26j's roms but I have heard his roms were pretty top notch.
I have talked to wildstang on a few occasions although I did not know him like some did but he made some pretty sick roms I did use.
Jermaine I didn't know, I believe he helped out in the ext4 mod correct?
Lhtfp69 I did not know.
I kinda came in a little late but I got to know some devs.
And I gotta say since a lot are now gone, you kinda miss them a lot because there quality roms.
Yeah, I tried to install a few 4.0 apks and its a no go. The ics bind brings up the there is a problem parsing the package.

Where did you get that fancy theme?

theming, you say?
I've done some theming for my own ROMS and a heavily themed sense 3.0 or 3.5 is no problem, but sense 3.0 does not support the customization that you want, it's htc's fault lol.

What do you mean? If you're taking about customizing the Rosie so that it looks like Sense 4.0, it's definitely possible. You just have to use the m10 editor since you can't change the pictures by conventional means.

Well I'm thinking the launcher would have to be made from scratch, similar to Phoenix launcher.

On the senseless at the moment but when you release a update I'll flash it, odd enough I'm getting wifi drops on your 3.5. I thought maybe you use something different but I'm not sure, no one else gets wifi drops but me?

I'm getting 3G drops as well though they're not frequent. I'll see if there's anything I can do about it. I'm using this radio: 2.15.00.11.19
It's one of the older ones, but it's worked the best for me. Also, the 2.15.00.07.28 works pretty good as well (which is even older lol)

Are you getting wifi drops though? Don't use 3G at all unless it unintentional, they screwed people with the no unlimited data honestly, sometimes 3G works better then my wifi.
If it's just 3G drops then I'll definitely check it out, normally on your anthem, cm rom and various special roms I never get wifi drops or 3g.
Wonder why.. Think maybe something is happening to my DInc Wifi driver after being on pretty much for a year and a half? I hardly ever shut off my device unless I have to.

[ROM - Senseless FROYO] TruXt 9-25-11

REMOVED BECAUSE TOO MANY VISITORS ARE SAYING ITS AN EXACT COPY OF VIRUS's ROM. THERE ARE MANY GRAPHICAL DIFFERENCES IN MY OPINION BUT ITS NOT WORTH MY TIME/TROUBLE. (ORIGINAL ROM SIZE 170MB - MY ROM SIZE 130MB - THAT ALONE PROBABLY EXPLAINS A LOT)
Rom is based off Virus's Infection rom. I have always been a fan of AOSP, and I have been using Cyanogenmod since almost day one after getting my Evo. However, I always miss the sense dialer, camera, and very inconvenient having to nandroid back and forth to get PRL updates or to fix GPS. I have tried the new GB 2.1 + 3.0 combination but battery life wasn't as good as AOSP.
Anyways, this isn't the newest/greatest but it gets the job done for me. Just thought I share this with the people out there that might be searching for a light weight sense rom.
my setup:
pri/nv = 1.77_003
radio = 2.15.00.11.19
kernel = netarchy-toastmod 4.3.4-cfs-havs-more-sbc (More Aggressive HAVS)
whats left of sense: (slightly themed)
- sense dialer
- sense facebook
- sense flickr
- sense gallery
- sense email
- sense camera/camcorder
- sense browser
others:
- updated to launcher pro 0.86
- replaced HTC MMS with stock mms.apk
- juwe11 RAM optimization script
- change some of the GUI stuff that didn't blend in well with MANUP's theme from the original rom
removed
- if rom does not work, try downgrading PRI/NV to 1.77_003
HTC IME with NO ARROWs
- just install like a regular APK

Actually, yeah, now that I think of it, this seems exactly like a re-posting of Virus' rom, unless I'm missing something.

Not trying to be a **** at all. Yes, OP states it is 'based' off Virus' rom. That is different than simply re-posting Virus' rom. A lot different. And that,... is what supra was gonna look at.
That is why a changelog would be nice to see, unless i just somehow overlooked it. Edit: it appears a RAM optimization script was added.

I understand. But as mentioned in the first post, it is based on Virus's Infection Rom. I guess more correctly this is a customized version of Virus's Infection rom. First of all, I am by no means a developer, just another picky user. I made many little changes to his rom to my liking. The little changes are mostly graphical and like you mentioned above, only functional thing added was the RAM optimization script.
- I removed some of the sense stuff Virus left in.
- Got rid of that ugly "3D gradient selection bar" for Sense. (my opinion off course)
- Changed his lockscreen arc to the one used in Calkulin's Evio (forgot to give him credit)
- Changed a few of the framework icons to better match the theme. (his old sprint-hotspot icon and few other icons did not blend in well with the taskbar)
- Changed the "splash image" for the HTC apps that are left behind to better match the theme agains (i.e. browser, gallery, people, etc)
- Moved his launcherpro theme from 0.83 over to 0.86
- Resized the system font size to about 75% its original font size.
- Replace the HTC messaging with one from google.. (the HTC one was ugly imo)
- other little graphical things.
Once again, I am by no means a developer. I just customized this ROM for my own use, but wanted to share with others because there might be a few others out there that cares about function more than newest/greatest (ie 3.0/3.5). And after long search, I thought Virus's Infection rom gets the job done for me with the exception of some little graphical annoyances.

I have the latest radios, etc ... perhaps the problem is the base system being so old ... 3.29. I do know that the latest radios work with 3.70 froyo. Too bad ... I used your Diamond rom for many months!
Virus has airborne roms that have 3.70 base and are sense based. Just hit up infectedrom.com. they work with newest radios and are essentially the same as this.

Is There a Stable Sense Based ROM?

So I'm doing some research on my next phone (currently rocking a Droid Incredible 1) and it will either be the HTC Vigor or the Nexus Prime. I'm leaning towards the Nexus Prime, but I love Sense, so I just want to make sure that there are people out there who create Sense based ROMs for the Nexus devices.
So are there any stable Sense based ROMs for the Nexus S?
No sense no thanks. You buy a nexus for the AOSP experience. If you want sense buy a htc phone.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
Sense based rom ran into some hurdles, plus it's harder cuz unlike the nexus 1 it doesn't share the same hardware as an HTC phone...
For the Prime, we'd have to wait for a similar phone running ics, gingerbread might not run too well on it...

Ahh this makes the decision so much more difficult. I was pretty much set on getting the Prime because I figured it'd be an easy swap to put a custom sense ROM on it.
I really want to have the latest and greatest (ICS), but I also love my sense features (lockscreen, beautiful widgets, beautiful animations, etc)
what to do, what to do....
Yeah Rem3Dy said it all, but to throw my 2 cents in.
If you want a phone running Sense you should stick to HTC phones that come pre loaded with it. Ports can be cool, but it's hard to rely on them everyday as a daily driver they all tend to have their issues. From what I was hearing before leaving the EVO 4G forums, HTC should be developing a web app for consumers to unlock boot loaders in the future, so you shouldn't have to wait for exploits to enjoy root privileges on future phones.
Now if you want a pure Google Experience device then you should look into the Nexus line of phones. This is the way Google envisions Android and in my opinion, it's the best way to enjoy it. The Nexus line always has the latest and greatest with software updates direct from Google. This means when new versions are released we don't have to wait for manufacturers to upgrade their UI to to work with the current version of Android, no wondering when or if our device will ever even get the upgrade.
So if Sense is a deal breaker for you, you should probably stick with HTC. If you're intrigues by the Nexus Prime, wait till it hits stores and go check one out, I doubt you'll be let down.

Sense sucks balls, big time. It was the reason I rooted and flashed aosp on my Evo. Most htc owners try to get away from sense, and you want to install it on a Nexus??
However we like SEnse or not (I don't personaly, and sure thing is if you have a Nexus "something" is for experiencing the pure Android), it has been said several times by several great devs that it won't be possible to port any Sense like launcher on the NS.....
You can always install Launcher Pro Plus which has very similar widgets to HTC Sense. ADW is another popular launcher as well.
It's not just the widgets, but the sense 3.0 lock screen is one of my favorites!

[Discussion]GB, How many?

How many of you guys are still using a GB ROM?
Ive played around with a few ICS ROMs but my phone and I are not ready to make the switch.
I'm running Oxygen 2.3.1 latest Franco build for GB, stock CPU settings.
Single screen launcher. I just love it and how fluid it is and how everything corectly works.
Maybe once OTA and source is out Ill consider the switch.

Still using the latest MIUI. The biggest issue stopping me from moving to ICS is the volume rocker affecting the ringer volume instead of media volume. From what I've seen it's a core ICS issue so it might not be fixed until the official ICS release.

I tried to go back to stock after playing with a few ICS roms but I came back to aosp's oICS rom because the experience is so much better in ICS in my opinion. The keyboard alone is worth the switch to me.
GB was a great update, though, and if you're happy with your setup I can totally understand why you would stick with it.

Agreed. The ICS experience is just so much better regardless of the lag here and there.
Noteable things over Gingerbread:
- Better Keyboard (In terms of autocorrect)
- New Speech to Text input!
- Better Email/Gmail apps
- Better Messaging App
- Better Calendar Widget
- Consistent UI through the Google Apps
- Sweet launcher (no need to look for a custom launcher ...)
- Browser uses a tiling rendering method rather than rending the whole page at once. Browsing is faster on ICS than GB ...
- And the list continues ...
GB is fast but I have to do a lot of tweaking, new keyboards, new launchers, apps etc. But on ICS, I am almost happy with everything as is.
The only thing I miss are the power widgets from CM7 ... I know the Kangs have a few of them, but not the ones I want.

Still using the latest MIUI. The biggest issue stopping me from moving to ICS is the volume rocker affecting the ringer volume instead of media volume. From what I've seen it's a core ICS issue so it might not be fixed until the official ICS release.

Me. Will use ICS when all the functions work properly and aren't using dodgy patches. And the battery life and performance will be similar. Until then, my customized GB setup is just perfect.
I'm still running the stock Gingerbread 2.3.6 ROM on my I9020T. I have no interest in all these hack crackerjack Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs. I'm perfectly happy to wait for Google to release the official ROM.

My Opinion
- I don't like stock keyboards over swype.
- I never use speech to text as I type faster.
- I do agree on gmail I love the new gmail application.
- GoSMS ftfw
- Never use calendar's; don't care about time.
- I do like consistent UI but I hate the appearence of this one. I've had to metamorph the hell out of it.
- I still use custom launchers as they have more features. One thing I really hate about ice cream is the 'Multitasking'. I hated it in honeycomb and I hate it here.
- I prefer Miren.
Ice cream is a great update. When the lag is gone and there is more tweaking and modifying that can be done, CM9 w/ theme chooser, I'll definitely return to it.
Forget about it... switched back to GB for the week I was in Hawaii to get 4g that was it. v26 of aosp's ICS is great on my battery life and the small lag I can live with used to it on some GB roms too. Some nuisances with ICS but not enough to go back to GB... it's still alpha so I can't complain. alpha builds of any rom are buggy, but I use ICS as a daily driver... patiently waiting til OTA to fix all the current errors.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
still using gb after trying those alpha ics roms
ics is awesome, but a stock one is what i need
I have used all the ICS roms out there, they are all really great, hats off to the devs. But i am waiting for the ota for tjat polished feel of ICS.
I know the current ics roms are smooth, but not as much as i like. Coz maybe they dont have the kernel of ics rite now, so guess i ll wait for the ota
Currently on galnet miui, super smooth...

[ROM] OXY-LITE [58 Mb] LIGHTEST ROM EVER! [FINAL RELEASE]

Okay, here goes:
I've been playing awhile with hrkfdn great ported Oxygen ROM.
It's already light and fast! All hail goes to original dev and all those big guys!
So I made a few alterations -mods, if you prefer. In fact, I pushed this ROM even further, I just got to know how light and how fast a ROM can be, while still wanted it to be good looking. Remove some, added some, playing with various tweaks here and there -can't really recall everything.
Tried hard not to reach 60 MB, it's fun for me to know that I'm using a very light ROM. So here it is, a 58 Mb ROM for our DHD, that's way way smaller than the usual Sense ROMs and still half of CM and MIUI ROMs. There's plenty of room for our OWN creativity
Who would want a ROM such as this? Those who are taking a break from all the complexity of Sense, those who prefer clean & pure android experience, those who seek a fast and solid yet uncluttered base for hard-core gaming, and above all: those who dare to begin a personal endeavor into the endless sea of the Droid Unknown.
-This ROM is based on the earlier version of hrkfdn's ported Oxygen. If you prefer to taste the originals, do visit the original thread.
-The FM Radio is not functional on Oxygen builds. However, I've been using this ROM for everyday use, and no biggies that prevent me from using my DHD the way it should be used, but let me know if there's something that really wrong, I might know the way around.
-I'm no dev and this is not really a 'new' ROM, but I do love to share.. If this ROM pleases you, don't forget there are buttons in this page to express it I have not stop from modding this ROM, still curious if I can make it below 50 Mb so most probable there will (still) be future releases.. will be updating.
UPDATE 22 Sept 2012
Although the latest build is still here to download, and (evidently) still needed by some, and yes, this ROM is still among the LIGHTEST, FASTEST DHD ROM ever existed, I'm sorry to say that this project is now in full stop.
I have been off the droid field for months due to a new 'life' that prevents me from a stable internet connection
I have no DHD now, but I will still stop by once in a while, so if there are questions, feel free to still post here, ar PM me, if i have the answer I surely will reply.
Thank You all!

No probs dude, its glass widgets. Free version from market. As is the time. I stuck with Go Launcher to edit icons and size of some things. On other pages I have Android Pro Widgets. Themed up nice now. Also have Seesmic widest for SN stuff.
EDIT: Screenshots
Switched to conservative to try and slow battery drain. Still flying but i have LOTS of apps on board.
Now it blows sense away.
Can we add theme chosser ti this baby.

[Q] [AT&T One X]AOKP + Sense?

Hey all,
I was wondering if there is a way to PORT Sense to AOKP so I can have a mix of both. I'd be willing to look into doing it myself or with some guidance. I'm buying my girlfriend a HOX soon and she likes the AOKP on my One V but at the same time, she (for some reason) likes Sense (especially the animated weather, clock, etc. widgets). If someone knows of a ported version of the Sense widgets (with the animations), then that would also work.
Thanks, worldindo1.
If it could be done, I think it would have already been done. Someone correct me if I'm wrong..
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
There is no aokp sense yet. There is a sense 4.5 port but it's very unstable. Buy her beautiful widgets. It has the big fancy clock and weather animations your girlfriend likes
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app
It may be possible to port some aokp features to a specific sense ROM but I've seen someone try and port some sense elements and it isn't that easy to make each app dependant upon itself instead of the sense framework
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
The proprietary Sense features require a Sense base. No one has found a way around this and isn't likely to because the code for Sense is not open-source.
There are several Sense roms with AOKP elements.

If you want the actual Sense clock, you have to use the Sense launcher. No way otherwise.
However you could use HD widgets to get a Sense like clock and flash CleanRom Dev to get a Sense ROM with AOSP styling.

Or search for fancy widget. Its an exact copy of the sense clock minus the animations

Thanks for the tip! Just bought it and now I'm playing around with it myself.
Yeah i'd also like the combo aokp+sense. I must say mine n ur gf's thought are alike.
+1 for beautiful widgets. Use that and find a good sense theme for the theme chooser. There's like 3 or 4 in the android themes section here on xda alone. The average user wouldn't be able to tell the difference
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655946
Technically almost anything is "possible", but rohan32 explained the complexity of porting the Sense camera here, and I assume the same applies to other Sense apps and widgets.
Basically, the amount of work to port over Sense components makes it infeasible. And you would have to port the Sense launcher as well, as even on Sense based ROMs, if you ditch the launcher, you lose the widgets. At that point, you may as well just be using a Sense ROM.
