Finally, its excellent that we are now able to play arouund with ICS on our toys .. however, one thing that really irritates me the most .. advertisements !!!
With the new ICS Lockscreen, gives you the option to display your local weather .. excellent feature I must say .. and I would use it always if ...
Is there anyway of getting that advertisement of "AccuWeather.com" OFF THE SCREEN ??? pleaseeeeeeee .. LOL

Lol that's not an ad. It's where your lock screen is getting your weather info from.

LOL .. I know that .. but, is there anyway of removing it from the screen ?
Go to Settings/Display and untick "Show weather on lockscreen".
Simples
I don't think there is a way for you to have the weather on the lock screen without having the .com there. Unless someone makes a custom lock screen and finds some way to delete it from the file.

even after update, the original screen-lock remained laggy and inaccurate sometimes. is there some more screen-lock apps that can be used on X10?

Have you checked the market at all. Lots of options. Goto seems to be popular.
Lock screen
Sorry for hijack but My lock screen is too sensitive and my phone is always unlocking in my pocket and then making calls, sending texts and changing things around, its starting to pi** me off a bit.
I need a proper lockscreen that needs a password or something to enable phone.
I bought app protector from the market but that just messes with the whole phone big time, disabled.
Just activate the additional pattern lock under android settings --> security. your phone shouldn't be able to draw a pattern specified by you

I would like to remove the se lock screen as well and replace it with stock android. I tried many apps in the market but none of them work properly. So in my search I was looking to disable it manually. Interestingly enough when I removed the phone.apk it removed the lock as well. I couldn't use the phone but at least no lockscreen . Anyways i think modifying the phone.apk is what needs to happen unfortunately i don't have the knowledge to do this yet...

Ashame lockbot does not work on the X10. I have problems with the lock as well. Sometimes i miss calls because it hangs In de top, very annoying.
Lock 2.0 from market Works for x10 and is great, a bit Luke s2u2. Full version Allied you to change settings to your likings.
i use adw launcher, dont change your settings in adw after installing lock2 otherwise the default lockscreen Comes back for some reason and you end up with a Double lockscreen. Further it is the best lock screen on the market for our phone. Hope this will help.

I'm a huge fan of goto but sometimes a lil bit laggy
I've tried all sorts of lockscreens and apps that disable the stock lockscreen. I still always end up with the stock lockscreen coming back, so I have to unlock stock and whatever lockscreen app I had installed. Some of them didn't disable the stock at all, some did but randomly the stock would come back after some time

Was going to get goto, but it is a pain that you can only pay with a credit card, i havent got one
Goto its really good but its main problem was that any button could wake it up which resulted in battery drain!! don't know if that's fixed now cause I really did prefer it over the built in one!!

can someone please post the goto apk?

No real solution im afraid, you can try changing your task killer to only kill apps every couple of hours and ignore the GOTO application, or uninstall it completely, this helps.
I now use Lockbot pro which i think looks better than GOTO + its got 100's of themes, but i sometimes see the SE lock screen, hardly ever, but still seen it, whereas with GOTO i never saw it.

Unfortunatly GOTO is a paid app so its against forum rules to post the .apk.
Google is your friend, or pay for it.
The only way to change the default lock screen is by tampering with the /system files. Don't think anyone has been successful in revamping it. The only progress I've seen was the arrow being changed to a different image.

I think you have set Advanced Task Killer to "kill when screen off". This setting turns on the screen when you use goto, it's some kind of bug. Just use a setting like "kill every 30 min" or something like that and goto will work fine.
btw. you should read the topics about how pointless Task Killers are on Android. They're often even making things like battery life and smoothness of the device worse. Here's one of the many topics about it on the forum
I have no lock installed but i still get the SE's lock screen and Lockbot is not there most of the time ...
Well, sometime Lockbot appears after i unlock the SE one ... which is stupid.
Just got my HOX today, in general i rly rly rly glad i got this device, it's amazing !
here are some of the issues i'm facing which can sometimes be rly frustrating, so if anyone has a solution...he's welcome to share
1) Whatsapp Notifications - when i receive a message on whatsapp, i hear the sound and it appears on my status bar...no BADGE NOTIFICATION THOUGH
2) Keyboard On Landscape Mode - whenever i'm typing a message and i flip my device to landscape mode...the entire keyboard cover thes ongoing conversation and takes the entire screen... i'm unable to follow what the person is typing until i send him my message !
3) Multitasking - i know it's been covered and braught up extinsively here, c'mon HTC give us an update !
4) 3-Dot thingie is rly annoying !
Multitasking will not have a update....
3 dot can be removed when our bootloader is unlocked.
Notifications for what's app. Idk maybe it's the app

3-dot menu can be removed via the following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645052
and i believe there's another method in the dev section. it's basically the same. the method i linked is what i use personally. the second part of that guide, modifying build.prop, is what gets rid of the 3-dot menu. i believe you need to be rooted though.

Uh, there are already a couple mods out to remove the 3 dot menu bar, no bootloader unlock necessary. I'd post the link but I'm on my phone. One mod is on the first page of general and the other is on the first page of development.

Its the weather clock that does it. Long press the clock and drag It into "edit" on the top left, select your location you want, then check "show full screen animation"
Beautiful widgets sucks compared to sense widgets and they only copied sense.
so easy.
delete your weather clock widget, and add it again. You will see option: "show full screen animation ?" mark yes.
enjoy
Very thanks...I felt such a noob about that...
Appreciated it!

Well, it's a freaking well hidden setting that nobody knows since most people loves the HTC clock and they don't even move it.
Ever since I moved from my sensation to the One S I've been looking to get the full screen animation out of the weather clock widget. I finally did the right search to find the answer here. I am a bit of a n00b but it should be automatically set as enabled in the ROMs that are offered here and stock, don't know why it's not..?
Thanks much!!

It use battery & system resources for something mostly distracting and superficial. They then decided to put it obtional but forgot that nobody will know how to turn it on... (The inverse was true in previous Senses)

One of my favorite features on stock lollipop was the Samsung live weather lockscreen. It seems this was lost in Marshmallow. Does anyone know how to install it? I would greatly appreciate the help.
I would love to know this as well
Same thing happened to me yesterday after the Marshmallow 6.0.1 update. No more live weather option on the lock screen.
Same here. It seems they've removed it completely. It was my favorite too.
...
I've been looking for a way to get this back or some suitable replacement for this feature and can't find either.
Anyone got any ideas?

Yes, Ive been using it for a while. You need to download the Samsung Good Lock lock screen , It will actually change your UI. . Then enable it, it will give you an option to either use a widget or a stock clock, select either your own weather / time widget or the stock Samsung widget. I use XWidget . then once finished setting your widget before clicking finish, hit the little edit icon to the right of the widget you selected and click the button to "Enable to access the secured lock screen" otherwise it wont update, then click save.

If we cant figure it out, look into C-locker. Even the free version is awesome. It can be a little complicated to set up but if you have questions email the dev hes awesome at responding.
But I have some things i want to do that Clocker cant which is why i switched so I'm hoping someone can help!

Looks promising but the less software loaded the better. Good recommendation though.
I don't think you can replace the clock. You can only access the widgets by swiping down on the lockscreen clock.

I didnt think you could replace the clock, but i was under the impression that you could add other widgets to the lock screen
Swipe down from the clock on the lock screen and your widgets will show.
I see it now. Thanks. I wish they we on the main screen though.
