Hi XDA-DEVS! I am gonna be a rom builder and I would love some idea's and I am gonna need help on how to accomplish somethings in the rom. I am trying to go with an OEM mix, like shaps. So can you guys help me get started? I don't really want to start customizing the bootscreens. I was mainly going for a HTC ROM/AT&T ROM hybrid. It would have all the apps from at&t and the internet settings and be biased on the HTC rom with all the goodness. Of course I would remove the trial's and I make it better. I would want to make as many hybrids as possible for each carrier. So I hope you guys can help me .
Also it will be called HyBR!d X. LOL
Links for later usenot here yet)
look at Alex's thread-that's what I did. Cooked a few custom ROMs already.

Hello, I am new to XDA-Developers and so this isn't in the Development forum and I'm sorry for that. What I need to ask is about making a ROM. I want to make a ROM out of the AOSP Jelly Bean ROM, and port it to the Triumph:laugh:, but I don't know about compatibility issues. My question is: Do any of you guys know if the Triumph is compatible with dsixda's ROM Kitchen? It isn't on the supported devices list, but dsixda himself said that more devices might work with it, so if any of you have tried using the Kitchen I'd like your help. Thanks.
Good to see that you're motivated, but there's already a major roadblock to widespread ICS adoption on the Triumph because the camera won't work and the files needed to get it working aren't publicly available. You'll probably run into the same issues, making this project kinda dead in the water.
Good luck but the kitchen can only do so much. If you do use it, you will have to make manual edits to get things to work. But I don't think you can just port JB to our phones, especially with the kitchen. You will need to build from source, I am pretty sure. But don't let me stop you, just trying to give you a heads up. Try some things out and then ask some questions in the forums and somebody should be able to help you get on the right path.

I am going to try an experimental build on my friend's Triumph (I don't have one) and I'll post in this thread the results, and then I'll go from there.
I don't think that dsixda's kitchen works with the Motorola Triumph. I currently use it for the Galaxy S2 SGH-t989! But in the near future updates he may have add support for that device! And if you wanted to do Jelly Bean then you would have to get the android source code and build it from source! Building from source is much harder than building from port.
I really hope this helped and I wish you the best of luck with your development!
Hi guys!
I have been really interesting on creating a custom rom, and I don't know how to do it, I've read a lot of tutorials but I just can't do it.
I was hoping that you could give me a tutorial, or even open a thread to help who is trying to build a rom and doesn't know how to do it.
That would be extremelly good for ace plus, because we would get more developers to our phone, and who knows they could get really good at developing, that they could help devs to fix the bugs on their roms.
Best regards,

Building a custom rom is not so easy like you think...
Sometimes it takes 3 months to build a rom...
And 1000 guides explain how to do this

Hello guys,
I want to learn about porting and optimizing kernel, since there are lots of good devs here, I am wondering if anybody can tell me how can I start? or which guide should I follow?
Hello, im wondering to know if there's any Kernel Developer who can help me with my phone.
Due my job i need to use some external wifi adapters, wich the model is compatible with my phone, according the kernel documentation.
I know how to cross compile Kernels but i dont know much about C programing language. So there are some threads that are developing some custom roms and kernels for my model, but none of the devs wants to help me for whatever reason.
I also as before offered a donation to whoever help me with this i will keep offering. I hope i can get someone soon to help me.
My phone is a J5 PRIME (SM-G570M) android 7 stock non rooted.
I know i have to root and maybe to use a custom rom to make it work but first i would like to get help with my problem.
Whoever interested my phone is +5521990337574 im available 24h, so we xan discuss about how much you want me to donate for the project.
Thank you in advance.
