[Q] stuck in infinite bootloop HELP!!! - HTC Sensation

Hi i was trying to upgrade to an ics rom (elegancia or android rev hd) and i got stuck in a bootloop. what i did was I turned S-Off and downloaded the revolution clockworkmod which worked out fine. Then I rooted the phone by flashing a superuser file which worked, and finally i tried flashing mikes PG58IMG.zip firmware update, mi CID is T-MOB010 which is not supported so i followed the instructions and added it to the android-info.txt file. when i tried to install it it said "CID incorrect! Update Fail! Press <power> to reboot" and i went into a bootloop without letting me access the recovery. I was able to acces it later by taking the sd card out.
I tried deleting all data and tried a nadroid restore which didnt work. Then I tried deleting the mikes update file and installed a correct one which i found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767 this took off the error message but Im still stuck in a bootloop, Now every time i go to recovery it tells me if i want to install the file again and if i dont install it it makes me reboot.
At this point I just need my phone to work with or without a rom
I think i am on 2.3.4 (I just got this phone)
HBOOT 1.27.1100
Any Advice?

Is the boot.img still on your sd card? You won't be able to get past it without deleting the image off your card. To do that you're going to have to plug the SD in to a computer and remove the file manually.

if you got 4ext recovery on the phone you can take the memory card out, boot into recovery, plug in the memory card, mount the memory card through recovery and connect with your computer.
That way you will be able to place a zip file with the ROM you want and delete the p58 file.
You can't boot unless you have an ics ROM
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium

my radio version is 11.22.3504.07_M
I cant install 4ext because the updater is an app and i can only go to recovery
So i should delete the p58 file and the boot.img and then flash an ICS rom (elegancia)?

I finally got it to work by removing the p58 file and flashing the rom.
thanks guys

Can't install OTA update

Hi guys,
I received today OTA update, but cant install it. My phone is rooted and has got Clockworkmod recovery. I tired move update zip file in sd card root and install zip from sdcard, i get following error > assert failed: check_cid(getprop("ro.cid"),etc
Is it any way to install update? I remember last time I received OTA update after root, i did same method, moved update file to sd card root and applied update with CWM and everything worked but now i get cid error.
My phone is previously on O2, it was S-off, rooted and unlocked, at the moment it running all stock soft 1.45.206.2
Or you could just flash stock recovery, and then install the OTA.
I have recovery manager but cant find stock recovery for 1.45.206.2
Do you know which one to use?

I didn't use recovery manager, I used the manual way, by using ADB. So I have no idea.
Can someone help please? I dont understand why I cant get second O2 update. I have clockworkmod recovery back up, and I restored very first back up 1.45.206.1. After restoring back up, I got straight away notification for system update 1.45.206.2, which I managed update through sd root (by moving update file to sd card root), after 1.45.206.2 update I received another notification 1.50.206.1 which won't install, giving me cid error.
I even changed super cid 11111111, to original O2___001 cid, still no success.
I dont wont loose S-OFF.
I had little progress, by enabling signature verification in CWM recovery,
Now installation starts, progress bar reaches to quarter and then fails with signature verification again!
same problem with me, still can't solve, I have read and installed a lot of drivers,
debugging mode is all fine when device is on but when turned off debugging goes off detected by flashtool. SE wt19i user.
Superwipe and Flash ARHD.. its almost stock but runs better than stock. Be sure u have latest firmware.

Double check your CID. O2___001 doesn't make sense.
It should have 8 digits (lettters and/or numbers) including underscores (e.g., HTC__001).
Also, you won't lose S-Off with OTA update.

my best suggestion is to just remove CWM for a while and replace it with stock recovery, and then put it back again once you installed ICS. Refer this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17830737
You CANNOT flash an official OTA without the stock recovery. You need to replace CWM with the stock recovery, AND remove root, to get the new OTA...

[Q] Boot Loop after ICS Rom Update

Ok so I was running the ICS version of InsertCoin 4.3.0 which I flashed via CWM. I decided to install 4ext but had not used it to flash a rom yet. Today I downloaded the NEWEST version of InsertCoin 4.3.2 and tried to install it with 4EXT, at which point I was stuck in a boot loop. (I did upgrade the firmware according to the thread) Now EVERY rom I try to flash gives me a boot loop. I noticed on my bootloaded screen it says LOCKED at the top.
WHAT IS GOING ON?!

Hi,
Did you delete the PG58IMG.zip from your sd card after it flashed the firmware?
Probably pg58 file its says locked but just ignore that its unlocked, if it's not the pg58 try again do a full wipe with 4ext and reflash rom

I had to remove my sd card and delete it via my computer...bam worked fine after that
I have the same problem but cannot get into the recovey modus...
If i try to get into it, in first it shows a green circle and then a red marking and it stops...
A factory reset doesnt work either...First it shows it is loading data but then it starts looping again...
I had ICS RUU installed...
HBOOT 1.23.0000
This Noob is a bit stuck
maybe you have to flash new firmware 3.24?

You have to flash the lastest firmware (HERE)
If you still have the bootloop, put your SD card in your pc and delete the PG58IMG (that's the firmware). Put the SD card back in your phone go to recovery mode and flash the rom.
That's how I did it.
But it looks like it has overwritten the recovery tool...?
Try to flash this, maybe this will help ;-)
what hboot do you have? 1.23? or 1.27?
The .23.
I have started it in USB boot and was able to start the RUU from my laptop and installed it again... pffff at last i got it working on the latest test release again but cannot enter de recovery tool anymore...
The .27 version...
The RUU does work now but when i try to get in the recoverymode it stops so i quess the instalation has messed up the recovery mode...

I had the same problem. Solved it by installing a compatible (to the new firmware) rom, like InsertCoin 4.3.2. So, the procedure is:
1. Install firmware by putting PG58IMG.zip on root of sd card
2. remove PG58IMG.zip from root of sd card (otherwise it wopnt let you get to the menu to install zip from sd)
3. install InsertCoin 4.3.2 from sd card
Me too
Hey guys,
I'm having the same problem after flashing the new firmware.
The phone shows it updated to 1.27 but it still either bootloops or stays stuck
on thye white htc screen ...
i've tried removing the pg58img.zip, 4ext wipe, restoring my back up, and flashing back to the 1.17 fw but none of it seems to work.
Am i missing a step?
At this point i'd like to just get it back to Gingerbread and my old rom.
Can any one help?
Thanks in advance...

Help, phone rebooting after Rom install

Okay, here is everything I did.
I came from Android Revolution HD 4.1.13 to Android Revolution HD 6.4.0
Not my first time doing ADB and what not but here's what I did.
1. I updated my HTC Drivers with HTCDriver 3.0.0.013_x64
2. I completed SuperCID "11111111" (Eight 1's) everything came out good, my phone was recognized and all.
3. I download Firmware from "3.32.401.3 & 3.32.401.103 RUU". Placed the firmware in the root of my SD Card.
4. I downloaded Android Revolution HD 6.4.0 and placed that in my SD Card.
5. I took off fastboot, rebooted my phone and I updated my phone to the new firmware with no shown errors.
6. After I updated my firmware my phone just keeps rebooting in a never ending cycle.
7. I removed my SD Card, put it in another device and deleted "PG58IMG" thinking that would solve the issue.
8. After I deleted PG58IMG it allowed my to enter recovery so I did. I erased and formatted everything. Then I Super Wiped and then I installed the ROM with no errors.
9. I rebooted my phone and it just keeps looping...
Help, please!

I did the same thing from step 3. Didn't have a problem booting. If you did a back up of 4.1.13, it's not going to boot up with new firmware. Maybe download again or reflash or format sd card?
Reboot at 6 is caused by attempting to boot old rom with new fw.
At 9, do you mean you flashed the new rom or restored backup?

After you flashed the new firmware did you remove the firmware file and reboot into recovery and install the proper ROM for the new firmware?
After firmware upgrade you should imediately flash the rom that goes with that firmware.

To get a working phone there us always the option to run ruu.

[Q] PG58IMG.zip boot loop

Alright I'm sorry if this has already happened to someone and they've posted about it. I couldn't find any threads about this, which is not surprising to me as this was a stupid mistake that most likely users here wouldn't make.
I have an HTC Sensation.
I wanted to run the ARHD XE rom 6.5.1.
Completed S-off, installed CWM, and successfully rooted device.
I then downloaded the following zip files and put them onto the sd card to be flashed.
PG58IMG.zip(firmware package)
SuperWipe
The rom itself
I also installed 4EXT.
I also completed the process where you write in the command line with the phone hooked up. the phone reboots a bunch of times during the process, I don't remember the name of the step. but I completed it successfully. I remember the step "allows you to flash any rom"
after I had the rom downloaded(took the longest to download and was the last thing I transferred to the sd card.)
I unplugged the phone then booted into bootloader, where I had planned to continue into CWM recovery to flash the zips.
but once I entered the white screened boot loader, the phone instantly read through the sd card and found the firmware update, began checking it, I briefly saw( and see) a message or two saying that no image or file was found, then it loads up a list like this:
Parsing....[sd zip]
1.SBL1
2.SBL2
3.SBL3
4.TRUST_ZONE
5.ADSP
6.BOOTLOADER
7.RPM
8.RADIO_V2
And it says " Do you want to start update?"
The first time this happened I said no, and the phone just rebooted.
So I turned it off and went back into the bootloader and it asked me the same question and it didn't(doesn't) let me do anything else so I figured(being dumb and not checking online first) that I was supposed to let it update and said "yes". It then went(and goes) through the process of updating the firmware(I'm guessing) and after it gets done, the only option I have is to reboot the phone, and after this all happened, the phone is now locked in a boot loop, "htc" then "htc quietly brilliant" then it starts over.
after reading I now know that your supposed to enter the command line again when your going to update the firmware. I'm so screwed if I bricked my phone.
Please help me out anyone if there's anyway I fix or save my phone.
Thank you in advance.
UPDATE: I took out the sd card, then booted into bootloader, then after I got into 4ext, I put the sd card back in, I am now doing a restore.
UPDATE 2: system restore didn't work, and I think it's because I installed 4ext after I made my backup, i made the backup with CWM. :/
two post down from yous is my post {fix} for 3.24-3.32 firm bootloopsgive it a read youll be good to go
Your system restore should work regardless when you installed 4EXT. It just acts as a unique touch interface if you didn't have it before? If you installed new firmware, then it might be because you need to flash the old firmware from your backup
Mate, you said yourself what the problem was..
Place PG58IMG.zip on sd, boot into recovery, let it update, after update put SD card in computer and delete the PG58IMG.zip. FIXXED!!!
Remove your sdcard, boot into hboot, keep the phone on, insert the sdcard, choose recovery and continue
next rename or delete the PG58IMG.zip
I have a rooted sensation, it had android revolution hd's last version (with gingerbread)... now yesterday I tried installing the latest version of it Android revolution HD 7.2 by mike 1986 ... every time i finish installation and reboot, it just freezes onto the start-up screen where it says beats audio , I then remove the battery
someone suggested flashing 3.33 firmware and ARHD rom .
. Now will I have to install ARHD7.2 again after flashing firmware ?!
.What version of the firmware is suitable for my phone sensation T-mobile (shows sensation XE in the settings because of ARHD)

yeap you have to upgrade your fw version first
flash 3.33fw as suggested
after that flash again the rom
don't worry about the info(sensation xe)
the info are taken from build.prop file which is located in system folder of the internal storage
this file can be edited which means you can change the name of the device with any file manager with root permissions
but there is no need to do anything
just upgrade the fw version and then flash the rom

[Q] Issue with a 'soft bricked' phone? tried hboot and recovery, no avail

So this is the first time I was trying to unlock bootloader/root and then install jellybean on my htc inspire 4g
I was able to unlock the bootloader using EasyUnlockTool
Then I was able to root it using EasyAceRootTool
I tried to be oversmart and downloaded a rom of Jellybean called cm-JellyTime_42_R7.zip and tried to install through the clockworkmod app on Android and when it rebooted, it got stuck on the HTC inspire white screen with HTC logo. I knew something was wrong.
I formatted the SD Card (Fat32) full format and put a PD98IMG.zip and first tried to go through HBOOT but it was hung on Parsing....[PD98IMG.zip] for 4 hours
Then I took the battery out. and the sd card. made it go through the hboot screen, down to recovery and it rebooted to the ClockworkMod recovery tool. Where I tried the PD98IMG.zip again and it says Installating then says Installation Aborted.
before trying PD98IMG.zip I did try and download to RUU it using
RUU_Ace_Gingerbread_S_Cingular_US_2.47.502.7_Radio_12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03_M_release_200368_signed.exe
then RUU_Ace_Cingular_US_1.80.502.3_Radio_12.39.60.19_26.06.04.06_M_release_166557_signed.exe
but they all said this utility cannot install the rom on your phone , get the right utility, that happened right after 'sending...' portion of the RUU install.
So Now I am stuck with this and I don't how to move forward. any suggestions?
Because you are S-On, you need to extract the boot.img from the ROM zip and fastboot flash it each time you flash a ROM. I strongly advise that you search a little more before you freak out next time; that fact has been all over the forums recently.
