Smooth.. but i have a Asus RT-N56U for use around the house
So it allows me to have good speeds with this type of thing..
Will test from a away network and see how it goes..

Your router has nothing to do with it.
Even a 5 year old $30 D-link wireless routers support the bandwidth needed for maximum usage of splashtop.

interesting find, i will test it out tonight as well, if it works, it's gonna be a really good experience for many of us TF101. current splashtop HD is just killing me with the latency

Can anyone else confirm THD working on TF101? It doesn't install on mine. Gonna install CM9 and try again.

Yep, i can confirm it works on the tf101. The latency is vastly improved over the standard splashtop remote. Should be even better if you have a decent nVidia graphics card.

Running stock rooted. 4.0.3

Yesss, working flawlessly for me too!
Version 1.0.0.1, running CM9

Tried on CM9. It does work.

Work great on Team Eos and now on CM9 also.

what about graphic card? which graphic card are u using right now? I checked on their website saying a nVidia desktop graphic card with minimum of 512MB or a 100-series or above for notebook cards are required.

Actually 1/2 agree with you.. as it gets back to bandwidth allocated for, like streaming, downloading, p2p.
So if you are using a ****ty router then if course your speeds are going to be down..
Plus depends how how your router handles the amount of devices attached to it and what they are doing..
If you are starting off with good devices then of course the experience is going to be better..
As to this new version of splashtop and my setup..at the time i was running streaming tv (pptv) out to the pad and it wasn't missing a beat. Where on my previous router and older version if splashtop I was getting heavy delay..

It's working great for me. Runnning AOKP, and I've got a GT 335M on my PC. It's sailing along .
Anyone know where to get a list of compatible games? I know they're pushing Skyrim pretty hard, but I believe there are others that work with the onscreen controls. I fired up Shank, because I figured the controls were pretty straight forward, and they were all screwed up.
Pretty damn cool though. I can't wait to see how it develops.

Yeeah, nice tip, thanks mate..
Working flawless here to..
Can watch 720p movies for the most part flawless without lagg..
Kind of smooth browsing on the net also, and steering around on the desktop..

It will not even let me install it. It says my device is not compatible in the Market?

Cyanogenmod 7 for Harmony Released!

Though not specifically listed for us, CM7 for harmony was released along with the other builds today. It looks and runs great so far, and the Tablet tweaks work really well, I like having the buttons in the bottom left personally. I haven't had alot of time with it, but I have yet to spot anything out of place and it runs great so far.

There are a few bugs in the keyboard as numbers do not show up properly. Everyone should thank Bekit as he's really pushed CM7 for the G-Tab and spent a ton of time hacking away at code.
::edit::
Nevermind, their Wiki site is just screwed up showing out of date links. http://mirror.cyanogenmod.com/get/update-cm-7.0.0-Harmony-signed.zip

Do you know if it supports location-by-WiFi?

Thanks.
I was running this since beta and rc and its more bug free than ever. The stock keyboard does suck on a tablet. The best one is SwiftKey for tablets. Go to their website and sign up for vip and you can dl the beta.
Now that we are running cm, can we start using rom manager and whatever version of cwm it installs or is that still a problem for g tabs?
MC
Been running this for about a week now (clearly not the stable as it was JUST released) and have been really happy with it.
Side note I do hate the keyboard as it is just a little small (for me but i have big hands).
I do hope this version fixes the DSP Manager FC issue. I was going to install the nightly yesterday which had the fix but never did get around to it.

Very sweet...
Overall feels very responsive and smooth (though that could be from the data/system/cache wipe before installing).

Tablet Tweaks is a nice addition as well as the standard CyanogenMod Settings.

Honeycomb improves the user experience on tablets greatly. At least from my experience with it.

sounds like if they ever get the browser and gmail to work reasonably well it will be time to take the plunge.
Roe, MrGuy, Clemsyn, DJ_Steve, Pershoot and all of the VEGA and Adam developers are amazing. This is very much a group effort over at SLD, which shows in the sheer amount of progress made on this port. Honestly, I woke up one morning to version 1.2, the next day to 2.0 and that night 2.1.
It's not quite ready for prime time, but I use it as a daily driver. No way I could ever go back now.
Working great so far...
I took the plunge and installed this and it looks great. I'm just going through my favorite apps to see what works and what doesn't. I'll update as I know more.
I just tested Video playback and the only thing that works of course is Moboplayer, but it works great, and even works on files that used on play without sound in Vegan 5.1.1 (they now have sound!).

[Q] What are you looking forward to in ICS for the Transformer?

I also hope they fix the hdmi panasonic plasma issue fixed here by clemsyns kernel.
new style, new features, new market,
maybe faster and optimized.
but most for a browser which is fast, has no keyboard input lag, and handles the dock well with german language
Most important to me:
1) Fix conection to Panasonic plasma via HDMI
2) Create folders on home screen without any launcher
how about no crashes... my browser will close without FC message on random pages.
what i am most looking forward to it is coming out and these anticpation threads drying up!!

I'm looking forward to a significantly faster browser (according to early reports), and the ability to kill tasks without needing to install a third-party app to do so. (Now we just need a way to prevent tasks being automatically killed when not in the foreground.)
I want a browser without keyboard lag.
the keyboard lag, is that when characters with accents pop out of nowhere?
I think it may have to do with the rendering or something. Opera Mobile seems to basically stick in a native widget, usually looks wrong but works; the stock browser otoh seems to do it like a desktop browser would.

TF700T a Bit Laggy....Apps to Blame?

Hey guys. Just got the Infinity. Physically the device is great. Love it. Noticed after loading a couple of apps (not many) that the tablet seems a bit laggy going from program to program and screen to screen. And even some app crashes. Ran pretty smooth on initial use as they always do. It shouldn't be laggy at all with the specs. Could I have an app that's not written for a tablet causing a problem? Memory issue? Or anyway to check that this thing is running like it should? I would think it would be smooth as glass. Not overly concerned but just a bit. I've only had it for two days so just generating some dialog. I hate to jump to a "return it" attitude as the next one I get may have another issue or do the same thing.
Also it seems most programs aren't written yet to see the "microSD" card and treat the internal "scdard" as an external. Went through this with my Galaxy S3. Here we go again!
no lag on mines. i downloaded a couple of torrents last night and still was able to do other things without hiccups.

You're probably new to this forum?
This is a known I/O issue on this device. Everyone has it, one way or another.
Currently there are speculations that it is due to SW and not HW, so it will be fixed eventually.
Try turning off wi-fi or wait for some time for the tablet to settle down after heavy downloading and installing.
It should get better.
But, as soon as you are downloading something or copying and such ... and when you try to do other things in parallel ... the tablet will get laggy again.

Only thing I saw is when the tablet switches from landscape to portrait, the wallpaper jumps from the left side to the right and gets then finally centered. A bit annoying.

Glad to hear (sorta) that it's happening to others as it denotes a software issue and not hardware. Hard to tell sometimes. I would certainly want to return it if there was a memory or CPU issue but obviously don't want to go through that hassle if I don't have to. Went up to BB today and they didn't have the Infinity but did have a Prime. The Prime was fast and I asked the salesguy (who claimed to know all about the tablets) to see if mine seemed laggy to him. He said it looked great but it also was not connected to wifi. It did seem to run faster without wifi. Starting to lead me to believe that the radio firmware is not perfected and when connected or connected to a poor wifi source it slows.
When I got my Galaxy S3 it was a little laggy even with a custom ROM until I connected in anther state to LTE and the phone was smooth as butter. Wifi performance does seem to affect the entire use of the phone/tablets quite a bit.

I've been using my GTab and dock for watching online video from WatchESPN and Fox Soccer on a TV. Now that there are JB ROMs available with HDMI audio and video I had planned to explore the GTab's full potential. To be honest I didn't know there was an Android version of XBMC. Ironically I've been trying to get XBMC installed on a Raspberry Pi, which I finally got last week. I'll post on how it goes with the GTab. Good luck.
I just load movies onto the micro sd card and use HBO GO.
Also use it and my Gametel pad to play NES, SNES, Sega Master System, and Genesis roms.

Thanks Tobalaz,
What rom are you currently using?
Funny thing is I have been trying to do this since I got my dock about a 1.5 years ago, but have not been completely happy with it.
I am using Frankentab right now, but I should explore other options again (been out of it since mid summer when I got a TF201 and gave the gtab to the kids). The biggest use I get out of it as a media center is for using it as a digital picture frame and for listening to music that I have on the microsd. The dock is plugged into my TV and stereo, so for those two instances it works great.
As for watching movies...I have been slowly converting my DVD collection to .m4v files with handbrake and have been happy with the outcome. The problem is I store the movies on my NAS drive and stream them. When using my TF201 they normally play without a problem. The gtab on the other hand has problems keeping up with the transfer rate and has to buffer frequently making watching a movie this way impossible. I could download the movie to the gtab then watch it seamlessly, but it takes too long to download, and it really defeats the purpose of what I am trying to do.
I will have to try a few other ROM's maybe to see if I get better results.
Cheers!

I get freezing between tasks time to time, still messing with settings seeing if its just me or the rom.
It does everything I want it to, and as far as I know is the only 4.o or 4.1 rom with a fully functional hdmi dock.
Been using it about a month, before that I used Beastly/Clemsyn Froyo up until I got my Gametel and for some reason it just flat out refused to sync with my controller (wouldn't recognize as an input device) but it was fantastic for video.
But for what I want, I need to use Black Jellybean or find a Froyo rom that will work, and since I've only been tinkering with BJB for only a month (had my Gametel just a little longer than that) I haven't ran through the 2.2s to find a complete list of compatable roms.
If I can't get it to run smoother I'll probably start toying around with various 2.2 roms again and get my flash back. Who knows, maybe it only seems to run slow for me because B/C was just wicked fast.
As far as the Gametel goes, its a nifty little controller. I went with it over a PS3 controller just because I could snap my Evo 4g into it and play my 8 and 16 bit roms on the go, but its a little smaller than I like. Not bad, but it won't work at all unless you update it via pc once it charges and the instructions are a little bare, but for me experimenting and learning are half the fun of having my electronic toys.

Well being honest Frakentab is outdated. (still a great and stable rom) I was using Flashback 10.3 before I updated to the ICS/JB roms. I had smooth buttery playback. HD videos and smooth streaming without any buffering hiccups. As mentioned I have TDRH JB 1.32 remix rom that I am using now. I just set the lcd density to 140 and it seems even smoother! I am actually having one issue and that is music playing when the screen is off. Never had that issue before..I mean you have like a second lag if anything but this is the best JB out there that I have tried. I use netflix, currently no Hulu app that I can use properly..(something seems to keep this rom from playing hulu streams) When it comes to browsers, it kinda lacks because of the constant lagging. It isn't terrible but flash isn't supported on this rom. Work arounds exist but wanted to let you know that. Playback through your sdcard is sweet. I have really no complaints, the better your rom/hd cable/ tv/projector the better. I love my dock it saddens me when I read people don't really get much use out of it...
I wish i could get the Vegan Tab smoothness and stability back with out losing app compatability. It was the best experience for me. Especially for web browsing.

I just load movies onto the micro sd card and use HBO GO.
Also use it and my Gametel pad to play NES, SNES, Sega Master System, and Genesis roms.

Last time I tried to use the dock for HBO Go I got an error that the app did not support HDMI Out. Has that changed, or how did you get around it?
Update:
I just flashed Smooth_Bean1.3.2 and am streaming a movie from the NAS drive. The buffering is a lot less now. Wish I could overclock higher than 1.2, but for now this is livable. This ROM seems to be working really well so far for everything that I normally do.
If anyone has a suggestion for a different ROM that might be able to stream my videos more smoothly I would appreciate it. I pretty much just leave the Gtab on the dock anymore, so using it to stream movies would be great
Using MXPlayer and switching from Software Encode to HW Encode is working a lot better. I just had a couple buffers/pauses at the very beginning of the stream and have been watching without problem for over an hour now.
I think this will work. Now to just install all my apps again.
OK, I found a few more things to note.
H/W encode mode is now seemless after a restart.
Music playback does not work through the dock. A simple work around for now is while on the dock the 3.5mm jack for external speakers/headphones still works.
So, for my two main "media center" functions, SmoothBean works great for me.
Good Luck. Hope this info helps

Really?
I've never had to do anything to get my docked G Tablet to share HBO on the screen. I always thought it was because there wasn't any type of hdmi plugged directly into the tablet and I figured that's what it was looking for. Couldn't get it to work with a micro hdmi and my Evo or family members' Razrs or Bionics, and I've never heard the complaint before.
Guess I'm just lucky?
Thanks F'n Around,
Thats some good info, i will definatly try out the smooth bean rom. Ive been debating going in that direction any ways. Are you using MCIFS to access you movie files remotely? And has anyone tried out the app Mizuu? Its a good little app for your movies. It pulls in all the meta data for them.
@ MechAniX.one- I guess it is MCIFS. I just access my NAS drive via my wireless network. I have not tried Mizuu. I haven't heard of it before now. I'll give it a shot sometime today.
Thanks for the recommendation on Mizuu. It looks really promising. Too bad it doesn't support networks yet as all of my movies are on my network and not on my tablet.

Yah, but if we could get the XBMC to work on our Tabs we would be set. It has all that included. I havent had a chance to mess with it yet. You should try. :good:

Well I installed the XBMC. I didnt realize that it was just an app that needed to be installed. I installed it and it ran good for a little bit but then it started to make the screen flash and it became unresponsive. From what I got to see it looks very promising. You can even change skins for it. If I can figure out how to fix it that would be great. I might try it on a different ROM. Right now I am using Dirty Bean.
I have run both Mizuu and XBMC and prefer Mizuu. XBMC does not recognize all of my movies on my NAS for some reason. Mizuu seems to work pretty good with CIFS. I set up a cif folder with "CifsManager" (free from the Play Store) and am happy with it so far. I really prefer the interface with Mizuu and it seems to be a little easier to set up. It is nice that XBMC offers more options to make it full media center, but I really only plan on using it for movies.
I hope that Mizuu eventually offers true network support as I think it will be even easier to use.
