[Q] Media streaming from Android phone - General Questions and Answers

Is there a way to use my phone (Galaxy Nexus) as a media server, and then stream it to my Kindle Fire? I've heard of ways to stream from an android device to a PC, PS3, etc, but never from mobile device to mobile device.

I guess what I can do is purchase a wifi external drive like the Kingston Wi-Drive, and then connect it to my phone via wifi-tether and have a little network for my phone and tablet over wifi.
I suppose this thread can be closed since it appears nobody else has any ideas.

anyone??..
According to specs, Xoom supports DLNA, so it should be possible. Try Twonky, in fact I will give it a try also.
Edit: it seems that Twonky doesn't work on xoom
OK, I found a way to stream music from my DHD to Xoom.
You need Twonky mobile on your phone and 2player on your Xoom. Also works with windows 7 media server. Unfortunately 2player can only play audio.

If Apple can do it, can we do it better? - Airplay

Ok, I am trying to fully utilize my lovely Android technology, and I need some help... Let me explain what I am looking to do...
Devices:
-Android Tablet
-Several Android Phones
-Wireless Media Server - NOT hooked up to a TV
The hook up:
-Android devices will be hooked to each TV in my home, via HDMI. This will also essentially give the TV's WiFi access...Kinda...
-The Media Server is locked away. And is also Hard-wired to the internet, and is the main hub for WiFi access for the rest of the house.
-The tablet is stand-alone (Able to access WiFi when needed)
What I want to be able to do:
Here's the scenario... Sitting on the couch, and nothing is on TV. So I grab my tablet, and access my media via my network... I find a movie I want to watch... But I don't want to watch it on the Tablet... I want to watch it on the TV in the living room, where I am currently sitting. So, I touch the picture of the movie cover on the tablet, and tell it to then broadcast from the Media Server via WiFi to the phone hooked up to the TV I wish to watch it on.
Now, here's the kicker...
* I would prefer that this streaming media is NOT ported through the tablet... I prefer the tablet to simply be the remote, so to speak.
* I DO NOT want to hook the Server to any television at all.
* The Media server MUST be password protected
* If it's possible, I'd like the option of Ad-Hoc, no actual internet connectivity needed..
So the question is this... Is this possible, using only Android devices and a Media Center PC running Windows 7??
Thank you in advance to all who reply.

[Q] Stream app activity to laptop

Where I'm staying right now, no Wifi or Wilan. My laptop doesn't support bluetooth. My Carrier gives me a service that allows me to watch live streming tv on phone, It doesn't allow me to connect it to TV or something. I have windows 7 on PC, and Android kit kat. Samsung galaxy s4.
I'm wondering if it's somehow possible to connect mobile to laptop using the normal USB cable. And stream the mobile app activity to laptop, so I could watch live streaming on my PC, then I'd use an HDMI cable to connect it to TV.

[Q] WiFi Storage Device App crashes on Nexus 5

Hello guys,
So, I purchased a WiFi Storage Device that is also a 5200mAh power bank and a wireless 3G/4G router.
My purpose of purchasing this was so I could plug in my 1TB hard drive and share the tons of music & videos I have on it with my PS3, laptop and especially my Nexus 5 without having to copy into these individual systems.
Every feature on this devices works fine (surprisingly ). The only problem is that the android software doesn't work with my Nexus 5 but works with other Android phones. The software runs fine on my phone and I can view the contents of my external hard drive plugged to the device but whenever to I try to play a movie or music file, the software just crashes.
I have tried the same thing on a HTC One X and a Samsung phone and I can stream the video and music just fine on them.
I even tried an unrooted Nexus 5 but faced the same problem.
Is it possible to somehow decode what causes this error?
If not can an entirely different software be written that can work with this device and on my phone?
Thanks

Bluetooth question, Phone to tablet, tablet to Bluetooth Car

So, I want to use a tablet as my car entertainment system. I was going to use my phone as a hotspot to give it the tablet internet, to use maps, music ect.
Is it possible to have my Phone connected to the tablet then the tablet connected to the car and still be able to accept calls via the tablet. (Probably sounds confusing)

Anyway I have a Google Pixel, and the tablet is a Fire HD 8inch. Anyone have any methods for this?
I didn't think about this prior to ordering the tablet.
